How old are your flavors?
submitted over 2 years ago by pm_me_your_good_weed

Some of my bottles have to be 5 or more years old lol. I know my one remaining Nicotine River flavor is from 2018 and my Ecig Express ones are even older. They still work fine, I haven't noticed a decline in flavor or any changes other than slight oxidization. They're kept in a box in a cool room, so they should be in a good place.

I have since learned that I don't really need 60mls of anything no matter how much I love it....

How long do you keep your flavors, til the last drop or the date?

I have flavors that aren't even made anymore! It will be a sad day when they're gone!

I have flavorings as old as yours. I put my flavorings in double ziplock bags and store them in Sterilite file folder containers

genuine question: how is a container like that sterile after it’s been opened? doesn’t that defeat the entire purpose?

Sterilite not sterile. Click the link I included.

Sterilite is a brand name of plasticware. I bought that brand because Rubbermaid is too expensive.

I have flavorings older than 4 closer to 5 years. I keep mine in a cool dark place also. I haven’t tried all of them lately (440+) but the ones I have are perfectly fine. I heard the fruits start losing potency first but so far mine are fine. Some of the cookie flavors started to darken but so far so good

No old bottles yet, I'm too new to the game.

I don't regret buying my 120ml of lime at all. Down to 50ml and I'll probably need to reorder it.

Tpa key lime? That's a winner

No, just "lime". Manufactured by Capella, sold by TBV.

Any good lemon recommendations? Pink lemonade lemon type?

I've only tried the blue razz lemon one-shot from tbv. It's pretty tasty. I'll probably order more, I only got a 30ml.

I've also had strawberry pink lemonade from the broke vaper, but thats premixed. It is quite tasty though.

Lemonade Natural from Flavor West is my jam, 5% mixes with any fruit. 5% each of Lemonade and TPA Sweet Tea is a great Arnold Palmer juice.

Lemon Sicily by Flavor Art is a classic good one. Juicy Lemon by Capella gets a lot of love too.

My oldest have a best before date of 2011 smell still good but are in brown glass bottles. In plastic bottles the flavor gets odd after a few years.

About when I started out I bought some flavors from a local mixer who was quitting. They've all technically expired between 2020-21. Even the Cap Sugar Cookie was fine I think... I used it earlier this year.

I have some going on 10 years old. Seem absolutely fine. I’ve also mixed stuff thats over 5 years old, pretty much black as the nic has aged. Vapes ok still, taste is over steeped but wouldn’t say it needs binning at all.

With chefs now gone I’m likely to try and make a lot of it last. Especially the RY whore as it’ll be a sad day when that’s all gone.

I have bottles from 2017. Over the last couple years though I've started only mixing 3 recipes for my everyday usage and 2 other shake & vape mixes for when my 3 are steeping. So the old ones don't get used anymore.

Flavoring concentrates don't spoil, the most likely think with old flavoring is that it may lose potency.

My oldest flavors are 7 years old and I haven't had any issues. The colors become odd sometimes, and for others they rarely start to get a bitter taste.

They sit in a drawer-style Tupperware containers. Not completely air tight but it gets the job done.

I recently made it a goal to use them all up and have succeeded quite well. Down to 6 flavors or so! Looking forward to order time. So I'd say I keep them to the last drop unless the taste is off or the color looks like it would ruin my coils after a day.

I need to make that a goal myself. I did order on Black Friday because it's the cheapest time of the year, but I just stocked up on basics I know I use a lot and only got 3 new ones that I've wanted for a couple years. They sent me a 3ml sample of Carrot, that'll be fun!

Tbh when I first started I was too broke to not just use them to the last drop, also learnt earlier on that the only flavour I really liked was menthol. Got a 10ml sample of 28 flavours at the beginning and the rest were just meh for me.

Interested to see if there's an optimal time to steep them for though, is a month ideal or do they get better after longer periods?

Keeping my e-juice in the fridge these days, the bulk stuff anyway. Started putting some of the bases in smaller bottles now so that I'm just opening/lowering the temp of the small ones. VG especially is a pain to draw at fridge temp.. Mostly it's the nic salts I care about though, not sure when things will change and I'll be able to get more.
