I got my juice making kit back from my dad after he passed, I haven't made juice in 4 or 5 years, but never had this issue before. Some of the flavors are from when I was first making juice, so it could be old flavors. But, it could be his nic base... he used nic in 100%VG, I used PG. I also don't know how old it is, but it's still clear/pink in color. The thing is, right after I mix a juice it tastes fine. After 2-3 days it starts to get really harsh and taste like literal pepper. All the juices my dad used to make tasted the same. I don't know if it could be the flavors, since the 3 I've made so far didn't have any in common (except 1) and we had totally different pallets so I doubt his juices had many in common either. I want to make a big bottle and let it steep, and not have to keep making 30mls every 2 days 🤦♀️ Help please!
Nic is probably oxidized. Make a sample without nic and see.
Why didn't I think of that 🤦♀️ great idea lol I'm definitely doing this to make sure. I'm pretty sure it's the nic also.
Make a flavorless base in your preferred nic and vg/pg ratio. Test it for harshness. You could also individually test straight pg and straight vg to make sure they are good. If all those are good, it's time to test each flavor. I'm guessing it's the nic though.
I left my flavors and free base nic for a couple of years and while some of it may have been salvageable the few I later tried were horrible so I threw the lot out. Yes there was a real pepper taste to the nic and it had turned a dark brown. I am also switching to nic salts as that has a much cleaner taste than free base, no pepper taste even in high levels like 24 mgs but I am bringing that down to 9 mgs or 6 mgs because I like to sub ohm it around 0.5 to 0.8 and 24 mgs salt mic is to strong for that. Buy yourself new flavors and new nic.
