I put 10 drops of FW hazelnut in my coffee this morning out of curiosity and omg
submitted almost 3 years ago by Sub_Omen

I mean, the original purpose is food flavoring..

I knew that it would work but I didn't realize how delicious...

Anyone else try this?

I used to use blueberry flavor in my earl grey tea all the time!

FLV Rich Cinnamon in my Pumpkin Spice coffee every autumn. It takes a mere singular drop to completely excite the flavor.

Hmmm. I just saw an ad for Bones coffee that’s crunch berry cereal flavored. Might make my own.

That's.... Huh.... I guess I wouldn't mind trying that.

I've had Bones coffee. If you like flavored coffees maybe you'd like it but it was not for me, the flavoring was too much. I prefer my coffee raw I just got Bones as a gift; gimme caramel or hazelnut fine but cereal and french toast flavored coffees were too weird for me

Out of all the flavors I've tried with coffee, just 2-3 drops of TFA Banana Cream is the best out of all of them.

I don't why, I don't want to know why, but damn it's good.

Lol 😂 I put drops of FW waffle in mine every morning,it is after all, food grade flavorings 🤙

Sure, this one's a classic. I really like some cap double chocolate v2 in my coke. The true discovery however was putting vg in cookies.

by Sub_Omenalmost 3 years ago

That sounds absolutely amazing! I love chocolate and coke and some people think I'm disgusting for that, but they don't understand how good it is!!!

It’s like a chocolate orange. What’s not to like?

Vegtable glycerin in cookies? What's that do?

I'm guessing it helps give them a moister texture. That's way it gets used in foods commercially. But, pretty curious to hear more too!

by aelweroalmost 3 years ago

That's very old school knowledge :)

Didn't realize it had become lost knowledge...

It prevents cookies from getting that crunchy/crumbly texture. Like it's the difference between the slightly soft sugar cookies you get at Wally's seasonally, and the tooth breakers you got when dad tried to diy that shit.

Not really moister, just less crumby.

I wonder what I can put my WS-23 in to make it feel cold haha....cotton candy would be super cool!

McDonald's iced frappes have a slight ws23 taste to me, or some kind of coolant

Put that shit in tomato sauce with some critic acid

Keg of carbonated water, vodka, lemon juice, and flavor drops makes for easy hard seltzers. I started using kegs for home brewed beer but I like just kegging water now too. Vodka is optional, you can just make flavored seltzer too.

Can confirm. Fresh lime juice and harvest berry with vodka and seltzer

This is what I keep telling my wife. I have almost 600 flavorings that were designed for food and drink. If we went the Sodastream route we wouldn't be limited to their premade stuff.

I think she's afraid l'm gonna go off the rails and spend too much time mixing drink flavors now too.

Mixing tends to occupy essential kitchen areas for long periods of time.

I use INW Shisha Strawberry + WF Banana Puree in my oatmeal along with vanilla extract and some other stuff and it's absolutely incredible!

It is!! Especially with the cinnamon I add!

by mulchedeggsalmost 3 years ago

Did you add it to the grounds or cup?

2 points

by Sub_Omenalmost 3 years ago

I added it to the cup once the coffee was already made! I think you'll get a more direct, concentrated flavor. I think it's possible that a significant amount could be lost in the brewing process.

Hell yeah! I use FLV Pumpkin Spice, FA Marzipan, and FW Hazelnut religiously in my coffee!! The only downside is how fast ya go thru yer flavor bottles this way!

by vaughnelsalmost 3 years ago

I tried this a while back and can confirm. Hazelnut coffee zomg it's goood.

After that I tried vbic. Just as good.

The options are endless.

Made a buttered pecan simple syrup a few weeks back to mix in with some whiskey. Turned out pretty great.

I am not sure why I have not thought about this use for DIY flavours.... Holy crap you just opened up a whole new world using the flavours 'as originally intended'. It should have been apparent from the start... but perhaps I am a little dense at times.

Not just coffee though, FW Yellow Cake is delicious in protein shakes (I bought it a long time ago as a noob, but don’t vape it because it has a lot of fructose), some FLV Rich Cinnamon in oatmeal or cream of wheat, in milkshakes, homemade candies/chocolates, and the list goes on.

Years ago I added some drops of FA Lime cold pressed to a bottle of Corona (Beer). I got in the habit of putting an actual lime wedge into the bottles, but forgot to get limes. It worked pretty well.
