Hello all!
With the europe tpd2 upcomming in december i would like to stock up on some juices.
I have both nic salts flavours and diy concentrates /w nic shots.
Since the diy bottles dont really seem to have a exp date on them and nic salts often last 2 years (if i buy now they give me 2024 ones) i would like to stock up until 2026 as i can get nic shots dating to 2026. Hopefully longer, as i assume i can buy flavorless nic shots (regulations apply to flavours only??)
I smoke 18-20mg salts (16mg concentrate) in a MTL device (wenax h1 1.4ohm)
Both vg 70/30 pg and 50/50 works fine for me.
Any advice? Thank you!
What do we know about the upcoming tpd2? Any links to share?
Its all very uncertain to what i understand.
Atleast for the netherlands i know 2023 manufacturers (sorry misspelled) are no longer able to produce liquid, and half way 2023 they are no longer allowed to sell flavours.
They get a 6 month delay to sell what they have left.
After this period, half way 2023 early 2024 there will be no more flavours apart from tabacco. Not even menthol.
Edit: they have no actual legal reasons to ban flavours, apart from the bullshit we all heard thousand times. Wondering if something changes again when we get closer to december. They delayed this many times before
Edit 1: 2024 it will be easyer to buy two bottles of bacardi lemon, two razz and two bottles of wine and a pack of cigs than to get a drop of eliquid.
I am expecting something like that yes but have yet to see any official news.
I do hope it wont be an outright flavor ban but we know the EU doesnt care and will probably do the worst possible.
I guess we will be stuck with wide use aromas like fa, cap, etc
Edit: I do wonder how they will classify a tobacco flavor and what kind of testing the vape use flavoring will have to go through to be legal to sell
This is official news, atleast for netherlands.
It will also include aroma's, 10ml bottles and anything in between.
Its named "smaakjes verbod (flavour ban)".

haha, yes. You can go in and buy hard alchohol and easily drink yourself to death, but that's a-ok. Flavored liquors included. But flavored tobacco, vaping, etc are apparently going to be under prohibtion. Prohibition is a bad idea IMO, when you can just regulate it and make sure it's only available to people who can make judgement on whether to vape. Here in the US, marijuana is increasingly decriminalized and sold for medical in much of the US, recreational, but in fewer states. It's legal in Canada, and Mexico. That's ok, because they say they can regulate it, but there's still a black market to undercut dispensary prices.
I mean, in some states here, you can buy hard alcohol in an isle of most normal grocery stores(I know in California you can, and it can't be the only state that does that.) Last time I was in Canada, you couldn't buy beer and low proof alcohol in convenience stores. You had to go to a beer/wine store for that, and they strictly sold beer & wine. You had to go to an even more controlled store to buy distilled spirits and higher proof liquor. Albeit you could buy it at age 18 or 19 depending on the province versus 21 in the US. I was pretty surprised when they first raised the smoking age from 18 to 21 in much of the US. I had smokers in the 18-21 age group trying to get me to buy them cigarettes at gas stations(I didn't, but at the time I was unaware the smoking age had gone up, so I assumed they were under 18, and wouldn't have helped them anyways.)
I'm actually sort of surprised that vaping flavored nictoine is being treated like it's worse than cigarettes, and yes the ban on menthol cigarettes is making a lot of people upset. Vaping is less harmful. Not without risks, but smoking has always been for pleasure. Geez, do they want to create a black market for ejuice, menthol, etc. Because that will happen. As long as there is demand, you'll find somebody selling it.
Haha, you are fully right! I live close to amsterdam, we have coffeeshops on every cornor (not complaining), we have dealers on every cornor and we can buy alcohol in thousands of flavors.
I think we have other problems here they should focus on.
A black market will kill alot of people due bad mixing (imagne shooting 20ml of 100mg into a bottle, or using flavors that are way overdated). Call me crazy "it wont happen", but people are usually not the brightest. Cheaper ingredients = more profit. Aliexpress for the win?
Coffeeshops here also sell laced and molded cannabis, and thats regulated.
Health is not first priority, its the pockets of money from our goverment.
You will be ok. High quality nic shots with both freebase and salt are going to stay on the market under TPD2. You may pay some taxes, but you will have access. If you learn how to DIY and you can purchase from the UK, Germany or other EU countries you should be able to get fresh flavoring for DIY, as well as commercial juices a short distance away. FYI, Just because they do not have an expiration date, does not mean they will keep their flavor and potency on your shelf. Fortunately you are in a much better position than the mafia controlled US vape market where nicotine has largely disappeared.
Thanks my friend, been gathering alot of info on here with people their replies!
Seem like indeed the flavourings are still okay if they are not related to vaping, but pre-filled nic salts with flavour will be banned.
I am starting DIY, ordered 100 nics and some concentrates. I guess DIY will be the only way left, but thats fine as long im able to buy my concentrates and flavourless nics hahaha.
I do have one more question if u dont mind, can all concentrates (15-20%) reach 16mg? I currently have 50ml concentrate in a 250ml bottle, adding 200ml 18mg website said is 16mg (i seem to go good on it so far, guess its legit lol). Wont name the brand, not sure if allowed here.
Or does this change from brand to brand?
I’m living in the US and I’m confused on what you mean by nicotine has dissapeared. Nicotine is still very much here lol
True, it is still available in the US, but in the past it was very easy to get online and thru the mail in a format that was setup and easy for DIY, e.g., a LB base bottle. Those simple and easy DIY solvent products are increasingly popular and available in Europe as they receive a lower tax than the ready to vape ejuice. In the US, some people who dont live near a good vape shop are just SOL and many are back to tobacco as the statistics show.
Yes, I thought vape shops were going to have to stop selling e-juice and devices. That they'd only be able to keep selling kratom/noids/tobacco products, etc. Then not long ago, I went into one of my local vape shops, and to my surprise, they had plenty of vape juice, all of the same devices, etc.
Right after the FDA decision to regulate nic salts, I think the vape shops were cautious about what the repercussions of continuing to sell e-juice would be, but after a little while, they started selling them again. The FDA hasn't enforced the ban yet. And from my understanding there are legal hurdles they could face that could possibly delay enforcement for quite some time. I also noticed online sellers are selling again, although with shipping challenges from some retailers, and other only doing B2B. Essentially the cost of ordering online is prohibitive compared to just buying from a reasonably priced local shop. I can still get 48mg & 50mg juice with little issue. I think the variety seems slightly lower though(not as many options for each shop).
I have a 1L of 100mg/ml nic salt in VG & 1 L of 60mg/mL of freebase nicotine in PG in my fridge(no I know I can't mix freebase and nic salt, it just seemed easier to do the calculations for sub-ohm e-juice base, and MTL with those concentrations. Probably 3,6, or 12mg/ml for the base, and 48-50mg nic salt and getting food grade PG & VG is no problem). I'v had it in my fridge for 2-3 months, and I know I should probably put it in a deep freezer. I've just been lazy about decanting it into 50/100mg amber boston bottom bottles so I don't have to get any more nicotine than I could use out at one time. It's sealed in amber containers under nitrogen right now though for the time being.
I was pretty pissed that just as I switched to vaping from tobacco, which I heard is like 90-95% harm reduction as opposed to smoking tobacco, was going to be hard to get right after I started. The equipment, raw nicotine, flavoring, mods, coils, and all of that were a considerable investment. I could still probably use some more mods, perhaps a different brand & whatnot to get coils/pods easier locallly.
I think it's funny that doctors don't realize that vaping is so much safer than smoking cigarettes. I tell them, and the next time I see them, they'll say they looked it up and know what I mean. I say it's a shame that they are pushing adults back to smoking cigarettes just because younger people are deciding it's more appealing. But even if you factor in vaping(which is safer for them than cigarettes) and smokers in high school, it's still a lower smoking rate for high schoolers than it was a few decades ago in the late 90's when I was in high school.
Sure, you could save a lot of lives if you lower the nicotine levels in regular cigarettes, giving people the option to experience the flavor /experience of smoking or whatever they are claiming, and offer safer alternatives that aren't near as deadly. Hundreds of thousands of lives per year in the US. That's what I think they should do, rather than making people going back to smoking cigarettes.
Sorry I went off on a tangent, I'm just sayinng you are right, nicotine is still very much available in the US still. For vaping and plain old fashioned tobacco, cigars, loose tobacoo, chewing, snus, and other forms. I can still get snus from sweeden/norway if I want in all sorts of flavors, but in quantity to justify shipping cost. Same with other forms of nicotine.
