Sure you don't need much. I'd start by looking on e-liquid-recipes or alltheflavors for some recipes that look good to you and aren't super old ( e.g. newer than say 2016 ish ).

Then all you need are the flavorings the recipe calls for ( yes, the exact ones, no substitutions, it matters ), VG, Nic base, bottles and a scale to weigh it with.

Now max VG liquid might not wick the best, depending on your specific atomizer and setup. But it's pretty easy to make.

Most flavors are PG. You can get VG flavors but you’re going to have a long road ahead of you. Anything wrong with max VG? You can easily get a 90/20 ~ 85/20 with PG flavors

Is there a reason you don’t want PG? Most flavoring is suspended in pg.

If you want as little as possible you could use vg nicotine and either all the flavors or e liquid recipes will allow you to make your mixes with as much vg as possible.

There’s a few recipes out there that only use a few flavors, however I find when I’m weighing out my mixes 3 flavors or 6 flavors it’s all the same. Just follow the weights listed on your chosen mixing site and you’re good to go.

the reason i dont want to use pg is because its really expensive

PG isn't expensive at all...

I don’t know where you live, but on both BCF and Liquid Barn PG is only slightly more expensive than VG, and that difference seems minimal compared to the cost of nicotine or flavoring.

If you want to go max VG on all your mixes you can find recipes you want to mix on All the Flavors and select the “max vg” option when entering your mixing amounts.

That’ll calculate the required vg weight after adding the nicotine and flavoring.

You’ll also use far more VG than PG when mixing even if you don’t opt for max VG. I use PG nicotine, and with almost all flavoring being PG as well I use about 5 bottles off VG per bottle of PG at 70/30.

What country?

I've recently been working on making a real peppermint flavored mix and am trying to make sure the mix is flavoring safe. I can't seem to find a conclusive answer on this question, some places on reddit say to avoid, others say it's fine.

In particular my concerns are with SSA Natural Mint and INW Natural Mint. Could anyone give me guidance on the true dangers of these two flavorings?

INW Natural Mint contains Peppermint oil (CAS #8006-90-4) and should be avoided.

SSA Natural Mint I cannot say u/tesladelmar may know more but I believe SSA hasn’t made their SDS public

Hello guys, i have some trouble mixing my ejuice. The ejuice seems too thin, it sizzles way too much, easily burned

mod setup: 70watts, 0.2ohm baby alien coils ni80

ejuice mixed ratio: 70/30 and also tried 75/25 VG/PG (shake and vape) (by syringe and drops and senses lol)

my latest attempt recipe listed below, mixed by weight with 0.01g scale so im pretty sure my measures are approximately correct

anybody got an idea what could it be? bad VG?

— edit : Latest attempt with scale

batch made: 30ml, all ingredients at room temp, target nic 9mg/ml

pg nic 1000mg/ml : 0.9%

pure pg: 6.1%

pure vg: 70%

flavors: 23%

— update:

maybe i’m a bit stupid but when i wait a bit for the bubbles to gone (bcs of the shaking), it seems a little bit better,

but still, more easily burned and more sizzling / crackling than most of the juices I bought from the store with the same mod same atomizer same VG/PG ratio juices (i’ve been vaping for 7-8 years)

Lots of sizzling and crackling can be a sign of higher than normal water content.

Water will boil and turn to steam before eliquid vaporizes so that can lead to the crackling you hear. It's basically the water boiling in the eliquid.

Where it's coming from is harder for me to say. Could be the VG, PG or it could even be in a flavoring you added. 23% seems pretty high, but without knowing the ingredients I can't really say that's the issue.

that makes so much sense.

i bought the ingredients from my local online store, and all of it are repacked versions.

  • the PG should be Dow (i think it’s korean brand)
  • the VG should be Wilmar (i think it’s my local brand)
  • all the flavors should be TFA
  • and the nic should be Molecular nic USA

the unusual crackling feels like i’m vaping under 50 VG juice in subohm. the sound difference between my mixed juice and my usual commercial 70/30 VG/PG juice is very clear. so i can tell something is wrong. (the crackling sound of “ready to dry hit” ? lol), it also drinks the liquid in my tank so fast

any other cause that can make any of the ingredients cause those issues? maybe degraded ingredients that can lead to thin eliquids? or simply my store sell a non pure ingredients? (they told me they were pure, only repacked)

i’ve read that above 23% is high enough hehe how much do you recommend for the flavors?

> how much do you recommend for the flavors?

This is a difficult question to answer without seeing the recipe. What’s recommended is you go to https://alltheflavors.com/flavors and see the average use

OK so I got a few bottles of E-Juice. But, they're 0mg nic. Am I able to acquire freebase nicotine and add it to the bottles to raise them to like a 3mg or 6 mg E-Juice?

Of course. Do you know how? Saying 3mg or 6mg is not very accurate at all. What country are you from? Did you accidentally buy 0mg juice?

I am from Canada, I got these bottles from someone and nicotine free E-Juice is now outlawed and just not what I wanna be puffing on. From my own research, I just need to look at the percentages and measure extremely carefully. I just am not sure what nicotine I should be buying. The bottles are marked down as followed.
Frog Fog Strawberry: 60ml bottle // 70%VG | 30%PG // 0mg Nicotine
Frog Fog Watermelon: 60ml bottle // 70%VG | 30%PG // 0mg Nicotine
Dr. Frog Tangerine Cream: 60ml bottle // 75%VG | 25%PG // 0mg Nicotine
Dr. Frog Barking Float: 60ml bottle // 75%VG | 25%PG // 0mg Nicotine

I think in Canada you’re limited to 20mg/ml. Use a calculator like this one
