Anyone tried one shots mixed with salt nic?
submitted almost 3 years ago by Phreaky312

I'm just getting into mixing and have found a huge lack of reviewed recipes for nic salt devices. I don't want to spend a lot of money on flavors and sweetener right out of the gate,

I was wondering if anyone has used one shots while mixing nic salts and how did it turn out? how much did you have to increase flavor percentage? Anyone with experience with DIYorDIEs misty one shot used with salt nic?

any information is greatly appreciated

Hi. First of all, there’s no such thing as a „nic salt device“. Nic salts can be used in any device (RTA, RDA, pod, subohm). What matters is power and nic salt strength. General rule is higher power, lower nic. You can use 3mg nic salt at 80 Watt in an RDA just as well as 3mg of freebase. It’s a preference thing. Salts are smoother, less throat hit, which is why they are preferred in pod devices at very low wattage and higher mg-levels.

There are plenty of MTL/pod recipes on ATF. You don’t actually need „special“ recipes for a pod. What you need are simple profiles (fruit, mint, tobaccos). Anything complex won‘t work in low power devices (desserts like cakes, custards, other bakeries, layered recipes). Keep it simple. If you‘ve ever looked at disposables, you‘ll notice they have straightforward profiles like mango, apple, berry. So it‘s basically 2-3 apples, strawberries, etc. to get a full fruit profile with CAP Super Sweet (FW Sweetener is my preferred one, no additives) and if it’s cold, WS-23 (flavorless) and maybe FA Polar Blast.

Do checkout u/hexical on ATF, he has quite a few MTL/pod recipes.

Yup low watt devices lack the layers a complex recipie has, when I mixed for pod systems they were pretty straight forward recipies like fruits, fruit medleys, fruit ices ,fruit creams,Candied fruits,,mint menthols, tobacos, lemonades etc.Otherwise you won't get the the depth of complex recipies desserts, custards etc

Just read the reviews on the website selling the one shots. Sometimes the full recipe is on a recipe site. Read those too. Jump on Discord and ask about one-shots or the flavors in them. You just mix the one-shot the way it’s made for freebase in small testers and adjust flavoring from there.

I don’t mix for pods but as I know it there’s not really a need to increase flavoring too much and it’s best to keep flavors to a minimum

Yup I used the Same percentage as if were freebase 15% 12 mg salt...if it were 50 mg for pod systems I'd probably use 18-20%
