What is this?
submitted almost 3 years ago by livvyo116Proud Sidebar Reader!

I was checking my stash, to put together an order & noticed something in one of my flavors? This specific flavor is still unopened/sealed.

Flavor Pic No. 1

[Flavor Pic No. 2] (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1QBwTpjn3gFDzVSBWwXARvlXTqXRfi4J3/view?usp=drivesdk)

It looks like a blood clot 😆 Anyone know what it is?

It's the pink that fell out, so now it's just lemonade... /s

It's actually solids in the solution "crashing" over time because they either weren't all that soluble in the medium and thus were only suspended (if you've ever seen someone shake up a warm lava lamp you'll know what I mean here), or there is so much it's almost to a saturation point causing some to "fall out".

Some flavor houses add alcohol to prevent this, makes the solution more soluble to keep those bits suspended at the cost of not being pleasant to vape when first mixed. Just shaking a fair amount, or if that doesn't work great a little warmth like tap water warm plus agitation should set it right again.

BTW, it's not oil, oil would float in a water soluble solution like what we use for vape flavors. I've seen floaty oil blobs in things like FW Blood Orange, when shaken then mixed with PG/VG they don't reappear.

It’s the flavor or additive they used to make the flavor, just shake before using.

Yup, it's just part of the flavoring that fell out of suspension. No big deal, just shake it up thoroughly until it is all dissolved, then shake it some more.

A couple of the flavors I use often tend to do this if left sitting for a couple of weeks. FW Creamy Sponge Cake and FW Tres Leches are two I can remember off the top of my head that do this.

Just checked my unopened FW Tres Leches that has been sitting on the shelf for a year and mine has no separation yet. But it's only a 10ml. Know any good recipes that showcase this flavor? I haven't vaped this one yet.

Some flavors separate a bit. My tobaccos usually have some sediment at the bottom if not used for a while and citrus flavors also often separate. Just give it a thorough shaking before using it (which I always do with every flavor before using them) and it’s fine. Nothing to worry about and certainly not a blood clot;)).

That's what I thought but wanted to double check. Thank you!
