🔹 Flavor Description 🔹
Prior to purchasing this flavor, I'd never heard of sugar pie outside of it being used as a term of endearment. Having said that, I did a little research as to what constitutes as a sugar pie, and I think Wonder Flavours hit most of the notes. They didn't hit them all, but I'll get to that.

Smelling it out of the bottle you get notes of brown sugar, molasses, and a hint of honey. It smells sweet! I tested this flavor at 1.5%, 2.5%, and 4%. The flavor changed very little over that range outside of added body, sweetness and a stronger flavor overall. I believe I could take it higher without it going south on me, but chose to stop at 4%. On the inhale you get a very recognizable brown sugar note, followed up by a thick body on the exhale and what I believe to be either honey or molasses. If this is a honey note, it is extremely light and not a top note by any means. This is not a floral honey or raw honey, but more like milk with a touch of honey. Very pleasant tasting not a overwhelming honey note.

The crust for the most part doesn't exist for me in aroma/flavor, although I certainly get some crust texture. There is a dryness and a graininess I get and I believe that is what is supposed to be the crust.Fingers crossed the honey note isn't supposed to be the crust. I would consider this more of a pudding than a pie, but the texture for a pie is there, so its hard to call it a pudding. Its not eggy enough to call it a custard either. Regardless, its delicious and will be really fun to play with.

I could see this working very well as a bakery filling, it really needs help in the bakery area for me though. I could see this working in most desserts you'd want to use brown sugar in. It has a rich brown sugar flavor and some weight to it that could fill in some body. This flavor is a bit dry though, similar to OoO Powdered sugar. I do get some mouth water from the inhale, but by the end of the exhale it does get a little dry in the throat and on the lips.

🔹 Comments 🔹
Suggested Range: 2% - 4% You could go higher, I didn't feel any need to though.

Steep time was best for me after about a week. It seems to fill out more and the honey note I get comes through a little more after a week or so. I took it to 17 days steeped before reviewing, mainly it just tastes richer, but the overall profile was the same throughout.

Pairings: baked apple, cookie, cake, custard, butter, yogurt, cheesecake, taro, cream cheese, lemonade, pudding, PIE CRUST, oatmeal cookie, chocolate, buttercream, vanilla, whipped cream, ice cream, toffee, caramel, donut (to name a few)

Off notes: Honey would be the only off note as Sugar Pie does not traditionally have honey in it, but I find it to be a welcome addition in this flavoring. The dryness is a little off putting without a bakery flavor to back it up, which I'll chalk up as an off note for me.

Overall, its a pretty solid flavor but due to the lack of a bakery note, I have to knock off a full letter grade down to a B
