As always, the purpose of this thread is to gather the community to explore a category of flavor and its many uses.
##⭐ This week's flavor is . . . Pink Lemonade

####Q: How do flavors get put on the schedule?
####A: Requests and suggestions from people like YOU!
If there's something you'd like to see, just post a request in this thread. You can request both a specific flavor profile and where it lands on the calendar.
I remember the debate when this was added to the FOTW calendar.
What makes pink lemonade pink?
In my neck of the woods, adding a touch of grape juice gave it the pink hue. And it made the mix a bit more sweet and a little less tart.
I wanna know this too. I was always under the impression it was "strawberry" lemonade, but that's clearly not always right if there's Pink Lemonade and strawberry lemonade as separate items.
The internet says it's often dye (bleh), or grenadine.
Real grenadine sounds amazing but doesn't match anything I know of in pink lemonade (real grenadine fwiw is pomegranate juice, sugar, and orange blossom water). The store bought stuff is just red dye, corn syrup, and some bad artificial flavoring. Neither remind me of the pink lemonade I've had around here. So I feel like that's not right even if they qualify.
I'd never heard of grape juice but I could believe it.
I always had the idea of a pink lemonade in the direction of Vurve’s Damn pink lemonade with quite some raspberry in it... This is one of the few real SnV for me.
Some sources claim pink lemonade is regular lemonade with an added red or pink dye. Certainly that can't be true! It just tastes so different. Other sources say that cranberry juice, grenadine, and crushed raspberries or strawberries can be used. I haven't found the holy grail of pink lemonade yet, but hopefully this episode will steer me in a new direction.
The holy grail of flavours for me- finding THE lemonade! I have tried soo many commercial and diy versions that i have lost count and to be fair theres not been many that have made the repeat try list- how difficult can it be to put together a zingy/semi sweet/lip puckering lemo like grandma used to make?? I find commercial lemo juices are generally way too sweet but having said that the two i will buy occasionally are fantasi iced lemo from Malaysia and Elements pink lemo (granted not a straight lemo). Looking forwards to this sub!!
I always just use a raspberry and a strawberry for a pink lemonade and call it a day. I was told some time ago that the Pink punch lemonade clone is what I’m looking for and to pick up LB Pink Lemonade. I think that flavor is really all anyone needs but you’re not going to find it at chefs
