Charlie has no horse-sense and wouldn’t know a good recipe if it bit him on the ass. I have it on good authority that this is the best in the West - straight from the horse’s mouth actually. Is it all horse feathers? Pony and trap? Are we putting the cart before the gift horse? We led him to water but couldn’t make him vape. Pass the Horsey Sauce, let’s hit the trail:
Apple finish: 4 different apples, one for each hoof
- CAP Green Apple Hard Candy – Yeah, we’re beating a dead horse here...
- INW Two Apples – Dark horse or road apples?
- TFA Tart Green Apple – Don’t get your ginger up just because you don’t have it!
- FLV Apple Pop – Because horses need their roughage!
Sweet medicinal base:
- SSA Multivitamin – Because horses need their vitamins, of course...
- FW Sweetener - Because horses love sugar cubes!
- TFA Menthol – It just wouldn’t be horse medicine without it!
So is it the apple of my eye? Not really - it’s a great vape but I really struggled to get the apple to pop through in this one. I have several later versions with CAP Double Apple which solves the problem but they were too hard on the wicks and didn’t pass FDA regulations.
There’s a lot of leg room with the Green Apple Hard Candy – it could probably go up a lot more if you have a hankering to do so. Earlier versions of this recipe used CAP Cucumber as a base but this one replaces the cucumber with GAHC.
Throw in enough INW Two Apples to choke a horse and we get a nice apple cough-syrup base. Then we use green apple as a top-note, because well, every green apple I’ve tried is almost all top-notes. I went with TFA Tart Green Apple because FLV Green Apple, FLV Sour Apple and others weren’t working out.
Next we use FLV Apple Pop to add a pinch of apple-skin flavor to keep things interesting. If you’ve never used Apple Pop, it’s not apple soda, it’s apple+skin+spices.
SSA Multivitamin starts getting too powdery around 1.5% here so we also use this low. If you haven’t tried it, it’s this weird powdery citrus flavor that leads with pine-apple. It works surprisingly well in this mix, so I don’t think I’m backing the wrong horse here.
If you’re a menthol head and haven’t tried menthol+sweetener then you’re missing out. At max VG it’s very cloudy because all 3 of these can cause that: Apple Pop, Multivitamin, Menthol. I mix it max VG and steep 20 days. At 70/30 it should mix clear and be ready around day 14. I’ve tried it at day 10 and it wasn’t ready.
Not a bad choice for a palette-cleanser and it’s probably going to be a solid summer vape too.
Wow, this recipe is getting a bit long in the tooth...
Time to put this out to pasture - You and the horse you rode in on.
Good-night DIY_eJuice
Ok that's enough horsing around! (recipe look cool tho)
I'll just leave out the menthol, making it a horse of a different color. I don't want to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I'll have to make that one change. This will be a good time for me to use SSA Multivitamin. I like it but hadn't found a place to use it yet. Thanks!
