WF Blackcurrant
All of these were tested in a Hadaly and at 2%.
Blackcurrant. Blackberry Stem. Concentrate.
The blackcurrant is the first note that I get. It’s a lil’ tart, a lil’ juicy, and a lil’ fresh. It’s a dark purple, but it’s light at the same time. This isn’t a dense flavor, and I will get to that later. This is a nice blackcurrant.
The blackberry stem is actually fucking me up. It’s green, but it’s blackberry skin. It also has this really cool tea note that makes this feel like it could be a single-flavor-banger if you found its sweet spot. There is no extra darkness or syrup or tart coming from this part of the flavor. It’s like it’s been dusted on the top of a drink.
Ya’ll remember those Minute Maid juice cans that you put in the freezer? The concentrate that you dump into water to make “healthier” juice as my mom would say? This is an organic version of that flavor. Like, this is a pretty authentic blackcurrant at the top, but this bottom note is making it juice which I don’t have a problem with, but I really want this flavor without this third note.
I do like this one for one purpose and that’s drinks. Cocktails, teas, maybe even lemonades. It isn’t aggressive like the other blackcurrant which makes it super useful and it also has a really nice flavor at the top and in the middle. If you can find a way to drown out the back end then I see no reason to not pick this up.
I give this a 6.9/10.
