For my 6 reviews of the new Wonder Flavors line, I will be using this format.
- Find key notes in the flavor.
- Give a quick and effective description of those notes.
- Finish with final thoughts.
WF Soft Candy (Base)
All of these were tested in a Hadaly and at 2%.
White Sugar. Pink. Factory Air.
The white sugar seems in line with how FA Meringue works. You know what it is, but you don’t know what it is.. There is a chewy quality to the flavor. There may be a hint of vanilla in here to try and create this almost neutral flavor that I’m getting.
The pink is hard to explain. For most of you, reading this may raise questions but it is the only way that I can process flavors sometimes. There is a pinkness that lingers behind the brightness almost like how a pink cotton candy taste.
The factory air is easier to explain. In the middle of the flavor there is this “emptiness” that is almost stale. I don’t think it’s anything that won’t be covered up in a recipe, but it is worth noting.
Bottom line.. it’s okay. I could throw this away. I could use it in every candy recipe for the rest of time. It’s almost like something you can toss in without worrying too much. It has a nice texture but not compared to WF Marshmallow (Candy) and it has a decent flavor for what it’s trying to be, but that flavor isn’t really sought after. My biggest gripe is that with all the Wonder Flavors gummy candies out there, they felt the need to release an almost unflavored one.
I give this a 6.9/10.
Would this work well with something like FA King maybe? That is what i was hoping for anyway.
What is FA King?
