I’ve seen lots of different options for smaller bottles to mix in, 10/30/60 ml
But what if any, is the difference/ benefits to using PET vs LDPE?
Hi. LDPE bottles are the soft and squishy ones. They have the highest air permeability. Next in line would be HDPE, still soft, but not as air permeable as LDPE. PET is a pretty hard plastic, the kind that crinkles and creases, it’s the least permeable.
If you’re just mixing small 10 ml testers, I tend to go with LDPE because they‘re really easy to squeeze, but they’re also hard to reuse because they tend to retain flavors after washing. Anything that’s going to steep for a long time or bigger batches (60 ml and upwards), I use PET or glass bottles because they won’t lose flavor through air permeability. I also store nicotine in amber glass bottles with a dropper cap for my working bottle and polycone caps for for the surplus that‘s in my freezer. It allows for the least bit of oxidation. Have a nice Sunday!
u/Individual_Waltz4194, u/QueenBuzyBee nailed it perfectly. I do extensive single flavor and one shot tests, and rotate through a HUGE amount of tester bottles. As mentioned, I DO use LDPE 10ml for testing, and after steeping/testing, I soak them in a large bowl of warm water with dish washing soap. After a day, rinse and re-soak in cold water, then rinse and dry.

All of my client juices, and my personal mixes are in PET.
I might be the one out here but I use 10ml glass dropper bottles for testing. Since my largest pod is 4ml it's easy to draw up just enough into the dropper to fill one. I don't draw up all the way so none gets into the rubber bulb but I can live with several pulls. Same thing, just soak for a bit in hot, soapy water, rinse, let dry.
