As always, the purpose of this thread is to gather the community to explore a category of flavor and its many uses.
##⭐ This week's flavor is . . . FOTQ VIII
>>requested by Popular Demand
This is FOTW's 8th time time to do FOTQ, after was requested that we periodically (approximately quarterly) set aside a week not for a single flavor profile like FOTW is usually about, but for brand-newly released flavors. So this is the week for new flavors that have been released since the last time we did this.
On the Noted show next week, I'm still not even sure what we're doing. We might just be backing up to pick up some of the VSO flavor drops that we missed because they were too frequent to keep track of.
We might also include some of the newest CAP flavors, or save them to mix with the newest SSA flavors in the next FOTQ. But never mind that. This would be a great time to mention any of the newest flavors by company that you've recently picked up and tried.
Post your own recipes containing this week's Flavor of the Week, as the star or in a supporting role, with or without development notes. Talk about other people's recipes that use it. Share flavor notes. Compare and contrast different manufacturers' versions of the FOTW. Ask for help using a flavor in general or to achieve something specific, offer advice, brainstorm ideas, consider substitutions, suggest pairings... really anything at all as long as it's on topic. But most of all, remember to have FUN

####Q: How do flavors get put on the schedule?
####A: Requests and suggestions from people like YOU!
If there's something you'd like to see, just post a request in this thread. You can request both a specific flavor profile and where it lands on the calendar.
just sharing some of my vso notes
I use their Blackberry around 2-3% it gives a really complex deep sticky tangy blackberry mix of different blackberries
I tried their blueberry @ 4% w/ FW Blueberry 2% off someones suggestion yesterday ive been vaping it all day it gives a really solid Blueberry

Huckleberry i use around 3-5% in a mix it brings a really bold berry hybrid of some wild sort very lightly tart finish
Some of my vso favs are English Toffee, honey, maple, vanilla cream, espresso, Huckleberry, Blueberry, lime...and all teas and florals 😁.
I just got some of their teas in my last order came for them the day before yesterday i got hibiscus , blackberry tea , dragonfruit , feeling groovy tea , passion tea , lavender blackberry lemonade im making another order for elderflower , rose , violet , lemon , lemonade , buddah hand citron , i had added their english toffee and ambrosia tea before because i saw your review on it literally a few hours ago
Not sure how new it is, but i been enjoying both ssa apple strudel and baked apple. mixed those two together with a wee bit of fw cinnamon roll and some ooo vanilla custard cheesecake. Pretty good for a few days then the body got a little lost. just want to add a touch of something bready or fried or whatever. any suggestions? im down to try whatever, really.
Also, never an entry.
That Apple Strudel is good shit. Try 0.25% FLV Sweet Dough.
every time i feel myself get a little sad or upset, i just go to my room and sniff ssa apple strudel and it fills me with endorphins immediately
I can't wait to share all of my opinions on a bunch of VSO flavors with the lovely u/StardustCoyote ! There are some really incredible, unique flavors to discuss. This will be a super fun episode!
managed to get some of the new ssa, but aside from the honeycomb crumble they seem unfortunately mediocre. the cheesecake was a big disappointment for me because it is a decent and full flavored cheesecake at 2% (that doesnt give me any coconut notes!!!) but me and u/Mindfloodz both feel the crust tastes like it is made out of waffle cone, with the same kind of roastiness you get from their crisp waffle and no graham-y richness. i have heard lots of rave reviews concerning some of the new cap flavors, though, and im definitely looking forward to hearing more
I agree, its unfortunate how heavily they relied on crispy waffle to fill out profiles in a few of the new flavors where is has no business being. I'm not a big crispy waffle fan, to me its a straight up off note in all the flavors that use its likeness. If you love ssa crispy waffle, you might just love all the new SSA flavors that use it (lemon wafer cream type, cheesecake on graham, and even the new honeycomb crumble type uses it, but its done right. I find I dont get the crispy waffle off note from the honeycomb crumble type until I use over 1.75% Even then it's not terrible and not as prominent as it is in the Lemon wafer cream type and the cheesecake on graham.
I need more flavors, 640 is not enough lol
pick up anything new to you lately that has been great?
MF blueberry and blackberry vanilla cobbler
Not entering but I'm always down to see VSO get some love.
pick up anything new to you lately that has been great?
Nothing new lately but I did just order a few I haven't tried when I saw there was a temporary sale during noted. Sabayon is delicious. Huckleberry I really enjoyed. Made a couple different Huckleberry soda attempts. His English toffee is very good. Espresso I use quite often. His cowboy coffee one shot as well. I'm not a strawberry mute but his strawberry raw I think it's called is amazingly potent.
I've been loving some of the new SSA and most of the new Capella flavors. Some standouts from the new SSA are the Honeycomb crumble type, Watermelon Taffy and Banana Real Type. Some fo the duds for me are the cheesecake on graham and the Lemon wafer cream type, the peach is not my cup of tea either. The whole new Capella pack it worth having for sure. I found the main standouts in the Cap sampler were The Nut Muffin, Custard Cake, and the Shortbread. The rest are all still very good flavors, but these are my personal top 3 from that collection. Can't comment on VSO as I've only tried their Blueberry v1 and that's about the extent of my experience with VSO.
In this to win this, hopefully! , and I quite enjoy tuning in too. Thank you for the contribution to the community

If you don't find a lot of new flavors, maybe do something different - like reviewing some older flavors that don't have reviews in our community. There are always some hidden gems.
I understand that this is completely opposite of FOTQ, but am just suggesting stuff.
Excited to read what people are saying about these new enchanting flavors.... and also sidenote: yeah... some of those new Cap flavor reviews sound like straight 🔥
I always look forward to these flavor packed FOTQ episodes. I can't wait!
pick up (or try) anything new to you lately that has been great?
Unfortunately I have yet to try and of the new new stuff enough to really say. I'm excited for some, but I'm still working on a giant backlog and am constantly getting new ideas. I did pick up the new CAP and SSA packs recently though.
Commenting just for the hopes of flavors!
*waves to the crowd*
pick up anything new to you lately that has been great?
Not exactly but sort of.
I found a random 'quick mix' recipe that was 10% Strawberry (Ripe), 1% Sweetener, and 3% Vanilla Custard.
I dialed back the Sweetener to around 0.5-0.7% (I don't usually add any sweetener, but I had some on hand), added nic to bring it up to 3mg/ml and cranked out a liter of it.
48hrs later, it ain't bad. Nothing fancy, but there's a nice simplicity to it.
I'm always late in getting the new flavors. This will be a good show. A lot of good flavors have come out since you all did the last one. Please do a couple recipes.
Thanks Noted crew you all rock.
pick up anything new to you lately that has been great?
My last great flavors was from last quarter from WF, cotton candy jelly bean, coconut rum, salmiak
I was hoping they were going to review all the new flavors from other than ZSO. I've never bought any flavors from ZSO.
I know CAP has brought out a few good ones which is what I was looking forward to. SSA also has a some. That apple strudel is awesome, I picked that one up.
The Apple strudel is definitely good. I just tried that cotton candy jelly bean for the first time last week. I’m not a candy guy so it was kinda fun.
I don’t really have any VSO flavors and not to keen on buying from all over the place so yeah, bit of a bummer.
I do not have the funds to be able to get the new flavors so I hope I could win this time around. Thank you guys for doing what you do for our community!
I'd love to win! Need new flavors
pick up anything new to you lately that has been great?
I just mixed a couple of regular banana nut bread but noticed the juice concentrate was too dark lol. I was unlucky at picking
Cap Custard Cake is HEAT.
what's it taste like?
Man the shithead in me wants to say it tastes like custard and cake. But honestly it really is a good combination of the two. It's rich, without being very eggy, and then I'd say the cake kinda fluffs it up and adds a tiny bit of pastry to it. I feel like it's super versatile as well. I got a 10 and I'll for sure get a 30 next bcf order.
Flavor of the quarter is the shiz.

Isuamadog I did answer this but somewhere else. Keep up the good work this reddit needs to stay around at least till I die.
I think you are referring to this comment ? Am I right? I see you couldn't get any of the new flavors and the cheesecake was OOS. Was there something that you did try in the last few months that you liked? Which ones of those SSA were the ones that caught your eye the most? What types of profiles do you like, normally? I'm guessing... cheesecake?
Do eeeeeet, give me flavors. I command thee.
pick up (or try) anything new to you lately that has been great?
I sure do need flavors so it would be great to win some
pick up (or try) anything new to you lately that has been great?
Blueyedevil519- Not really yet but I am looking for single flavors that are really good I only am looking for any cherry flavors and grape flavors and they can be sweet, sour, sweet candy or sour candy.
I know this is an old post, but I’m gonna recommend SSA Juicy Cherries and WF Grape Candy. For me they are the best cherry and grape by a long shot. They skew more towards candy than natural fruit, but there aren’t any truly natural-tasting cherry / grape flavors out there yet. Good luck!!
New flavor shows are always fun -- looking forward to it!
pick up (or try) anything new to you lately that has been great?
Nothing recently. Probably the last new ones were some of the new FA releases (still loving the Vanilla Cookie big time, and finding Decano plus a little Red Date is excellent for MTL) and the new tobaccos from FLV (Ry4, Vanilla).
Wow, my buying a pint at a time has left me out of the loop so long I don't even know the abbreviations for these vendors. I just know that BCF is the go to place to get the good stuff. Entry me in please! Craig
So does this mean we get $20 of vso flavours?
I don't think so, unless BCF starts carrying them this week. Someone will probably get $20 worth of the newest CAP and SSA flavors.
