Mine isn't the prettiest solution but I have one of those plastic drawers. I made some makeshift dividers in them with cardboard to divide cap, tfa, etc etc so all the same flavors are in the same compartment.
It's still a bit messy getting a specific one. The next plan is to have colored stickers on the lids, let's say blue for CAP, and label each Flav with a number. Then in the Calc have it named CAP super sweet blue-02
So then finding them top down will be easier.
I can snap a pic for you want. But like I said. Not the prettiest solution. But it works
I've always wondered if theres any benefit to keeping them refrigerated at, say, 30-45° or so... Most of mine are in a small college style fridge on low cool. Not much room in there though. Possible other upside: my office doesn't smell like every flavor. :)
If you're handy, you can make a custom box for them. I made a slim box with shelves in both sides that opens like a book, similar to a cigar box but much bigger. I keep it stored upright & closed (use simple hasp lock). When in use, I put it on a work surface partially open so the L-shaped bottom gives it a non-tippable base. I like to see my bottles' labels and alphabetize them for easy access (I have over 450 different flavors). This has worked out OK, but I am always looking for a better solution. The box only holds about 400 10ml - 30 ml bottles, so I have overflow. If I had it to do over again, I'd build a larger box with 2 boxed-out shelf doors that swing open from the middle.
If you aren't into woodworking. you can probably pick up a small parts storage box with adjustable partitions and plan to store & use it standing on end. For a small collection, this will do for now.
Also try 'stepped' spice racks intended for use inside shallow drawers- you would lay your flavor bottles down but the surface is slanted high to low so bottles shouldn't leak. This solution would work if you have a desk with several drawers. You can also find stepped spice racks to put into cabinets, which allow you to see every jar, or spice racks intended to be hung on a wall. Open shelving can be covered with a length of fabric, or get a spice rack with doors.
I've considered clear acrylic rotating lipstick display cases which also have angled compartments- but some of the smaller bottles might drop in too deep (easy fix, just cut a foam sponge into squares and place into compartments to make them less deep).
I do suggest whatever you do, keep those babies in the dark.
