Hello! Just curious if anyone has a recommendation on very large bottles for all day vaping? I'm using 120ml bottles and they're cool, they get the job done. But, I was thinking, why don't I get something much bigger for sitting around the house? It'd probably be more cost effective, but also cut down having to make multiple batches, etc. Figure I hang on to 120ml bottles for going out and whatever.
I don't really like using glass with a dripper, so I'd much rather stick to some PET plastic or something akin to that. Thanks in advance!
condiment bottles
I like to stick to 100-120ml bottles but make multiples at a time, so I can dip into my stash selectively.
With a big bottle, say half or a full litre, taking some out means exposing the whole lot to oxygen and if it's chilled, having to warm it up enough to make it shakeable enough so you can be sure it's evenly mixed before taking 100ml out, then putting the rest back into storage with a fresh header of oxygen-laden air in the gap now left in the container.
With multiple smaller bottles I can just peel off a 100ml bottle without disturbing the mother lode, the remainder stays cool and gets no fresh supply of oxygen.
I recently stepped up to 140ml LDPE dropper bottles and haven't looked back.
Used to reuse the classic chubby gorilla bottles but after the first 120ml thru them they have a bunch of creases and get more and more worn out.
Wish I woulda switched to LDPE plastic a long time ago because it looks brand new after many uses. It's a much softer and pliable plastic. And the 140ml capacity lasts longer and is bigger, but still pocketable.
The bottles look like this, I didn't order from here tho so search around first before you find a supplier:

My current supplier is out of stock or else I'd post their link
Agree on most of this except properly cleaning them is a real bitch due to neck size. Not a fan. I picked up a case (400) of CG and they do indeed get those creases but that just means I've used it before. I haven't noticed the bottles ACTUALLY cracking or anything.
LDPE>PET for longevity for sure, just find an easier way to get them properly rinsed and DRY after rinsing.
Yeah, cleaning and drying is the downside. But for my work flow it doesn't matter much because after I finish a bottle I just use pressurized hot water to rinse them. Then just shake the water out vigorously.
The real hassle I have with them is the opening when you fill them is very small and you have to be very precise when you fill them (I don't use funnels).
Overall though, after I switched to them I haven't gone back to the CG bottles, even though I have a bunch of them left.
Good idea on the water. Before I said fuck it and got 400x of the CG I was very diligent about making sure they were clean bc who knows who might end up with the bottle of juice (I make and give away a lot). You aren't the only one that's mentioned LDPE just being nicer overall. While I don't regret getting so many CG, (I've used half in just over a year), I have had ONE just pop the spout out and dump 100mg nic all over my mixing area. THAT was a blast. Now I don't trust them at all while nicing.
Beats the hell out of 250ml amber boston round glass bottles though :)
Cleaning those droppers is an experience I never wanna have again. But there's GOTTA be a good reason that science and labwork often dictate glass as a preferred material for long-term storage of solvents and lord knows what else.
LDPE is the GOAT. PET gets hard to squeeze and gets creased over time.
If I go out I use 60mL bottles because they fit in my pocket nicer but if I'm at home or whatever I use 100mL because it's more efficient to mix larger batches and seems to be a good sweet spot for my level of usage.
