Nic question...use or dispose
submitted almost 4 years ago by Zakumadness

I was reorganizing a closet that houses some vape stuff like coils', boxes, old mods etc. Going through a box I found in the corner...I found a whole bunch of 30 and 60ml gorilla bottles so I was stoked. Then I noticed a couple things wrapped in bubble wrap.. I found 2 bottles of 100mg nicriver an a bottle of the 100mg salts. Bummed because I thought I rebottled and frozen them all. After scouring the internet I cannot find a definitive answer.

Bottles are sealed and unopened/tampered. Wrapped in plastic..in a box on the on the floor of a dark closet. The house is kept around 69 degrees f. The bottles were purchased in May before they stopped retail sales

So for the sake of science...me having a dusty bottle and never have tasted it....curiosity got me....

No....dont....

2.5% tpa honey....questionable nic base@ 6% 50/50

Tasting notes.

Imagine being in a house that has been abandoned for years...dusty and dank. You open a kitchen drawer...find an old ricolla cough drop..and try it...while sucking on the cough drop version of grandmas purse...you find a rubber band and an old bandaid...and pick them up and put them in your mouth.

While sucking on the cough drop, bandaid and rubber band...you open the door to the attic and the change in pressure blows funky attic dust and rat droppings in your face and mouth.

Freaking out...you fall from the fold away ladder...swallowing the mix of flavorful items. As you get up gasping for fresh, non hell house air...you rush out of the house. Sprinting for dear life..you catch your foot on a broken step on the porch...falling face first in a muddy patch of grass.

You sit there crying...picking grass from your teeth...wondering why you went there in the first place

Still relatively clear-ish so fine there. Has that lovely 2021 vintage nic river mushroom aroma lol

Tested solo. Ok. No problems Simple shake and vape recipe vs same recipe with different nic...slightly muted flavors

Maybe. We will see how a steep mix goes

Make a small test batch of diluted, unflavored juice.
If there's no peppery smell/taste, it's good. Rebottle and store in cold.
Slight darkening from oxidation is normal.

If it doesn't smell bad, then I would mix up a tester and see if it tastes OK. If it passes the taste test, you should be good to go. With it being sealed, it is very likely still good.

I feel like something OP may be getting at that hasn't been addressed, NicRiver uses plastic bottles right? Doesn't it start to break down to nic long term, in which case what sort of reference point exists? Flavor isn't going to tell him what he needs to know in that case.

side question:

FWIW, if anyone knows, does nicotine salt have the same shelf life as nicotine freebase?

If stored properly, yes. Aka not on the shelf.

Nic salt is more stable, that's because it's a salt and isn't "wanting" to attract free radicals to attach. Freebase is like a magnet for oxygen.
