Vape Flavor Uses
submitted almost 4 years ago by crass-ula

Hey so I was wondering if any of y'all ever use your vape flavors for cooking? Specifically, I'm interested in using things like INW Cactus and FLV Pink Guava to flavor seltzer water made with a soda stream. I'm curious about percentages to use and want to know a range to try before messing around with my flavors.

I've used some flavors to help me down those gallon sized prep packages before Colonoscopies.....

I use them all the time. For making flavoured coffee creams (usually 5-10 drops in a bit of cream), hot frothed milk with some sugar syrup and flavouring (my kiddo loves this!), for a cup I usually start with 10 drops and work up from there. I also use them to make birthday cake flavoured butter ganache for macarons which everyone goes crazy for. Works well in smoothies too. I make one with 1/4 avocado, banana, lemon juice, oat milk, vanilla and 10-12 drops of FA lime Tahiti. It’s not the same without that.

I’m not sure how they’d work with soda water though. I tried using them in cold milk before and it didn’t really mix. Only works when it’s warm.

I was thinking about trying this a few months ago but with unflavored jello. Using an ice cube tray for it so I could experiment with different percentages.

That sounds great actually

Yup I often add some fruity flavours to water or soda. YMMV in terms of concentration. I added 8 drops of INW grape to a can of lemonade and it has a somewhat noticeable grape flavour.

This helps! I just kinda wanted to know the ballpark of how much people tend to use, since I'm assuming it'd be fewer drops per liter of seltzer than drops per liter of e-juice

Just start experimenting, but less, yeah. I have made some good, weird water. Like apple pie water. A couple of drops per glass. Some mixers do this to get a sense of the flavour before they use it in a mix. I've also started using it in kombucha brewing, similar volumes. I've also used it in baking, added it to apple crumble topping.

I drink a protein shake every morning + sometimes add in unvapable flavors (due to the fructose in them) like FW Yellow Cake or FW Cake Batter Dip. I used about 8-15 drops for a 12-16oz, depending on how intense I want the flavor to be. Turned out so delicious! Start slowly as each flavor will probably need different concentrations, FW flavors aren't usually super strong. You can always add in more drops, but can't take them away without the hassle of diluting.

I've also used flavors in cookie + brownie recipes (FW Hazelnut, FW Butterscotch Ripple, INW Custard, stuff like that); I can't remember how much I used, probably around 20 drops for 20-25 small cookies, will use a bit more next time.

My next project will be to use flavors in my homemade cashew ice cream. Good luck with your culinary adventures!

It's going to vary so much depending on flavor your best bet is to start with a couple drops and work your way up. Don't get me wrong, someone probably knows exactly how much worked for them, but it might be a long wait for that specific person to find the post and respond ;)

Very true, thanks for the advice!

Most, if not all, Vape flavors are intended for Food/Drink flavorings first, and are used in Vape Juice as an Alternate usage.

IF it isn't labeled as safe to ingest do not use it.

I like adding three drops of Flavourart Fuji Apple to my bottle of water, it has some light apple flavour that way

I've used some of the nicer smelling ones on the exhaust filter of my vacuum cleaner. Helps make the place smell nice when I clean.

Yep. Tons of posts on this subject. The percentage thing is tricky though. It doesn't really work the same for things like soda, etc.

Yeah I don't know why I didn't scour this subreddit first, sorry!

I Never tried soda stream but it's a glass at a time, right? I would just squirt a few drops and adjust to taste. I make 5 gallon kegs of hard seltzer and use anywhere from 30 to 60mls of flavoring per 5 gallons.

It's usually made 1 liter at a time. Thanks for the ratio, that's helpful as a starting point

I used FLV Cotton Candy to make Super Soft muffins in the mix and the frosting. It was weiiiird. 😂. I also use Cap SS in coffee sometimes. I should try Vanilla Bourbon or Tiramisu in coffee, that sounds good.

Great for flavoring water. Ever hear of Hint Waters?

Same flavorings are used in flavoring tea. Spray it on, toss, dry.

Flavor Art actually makes beverage concentrates instead of using vape ones
