Need couple of beginner friendly recipes. Inawera flavors only! Plus what should a beginner diy-er have as absolute necessity when starting?
submitted almost 4 years ago by DrankiDak

Hi there. This is a first time I'm posting here.

So the story. I switched to vaping 1.5y ago after 25y of heavy smoking. And I feel much much better. Have tried and used good bunch of liquids (from what is available here) and after some long hit n miss period I think I have some rough notion on what kind of flavors I sorta like.

Anyway, since I live in a non-EU, Balkan country, the e-juice choices are very limited. One bigger vape shop + some diy-ers that you find over net/forums. Most of them either suck or are way to expensive. So I said it couldn't be that difficult to start making my own.

The only flavors makers that I know are shipping to here are Inawera. And they also have decent pricing + shipping fee. Never ordered anything yet tho.

So, the question: apart from VG/PG + nic (that are also difficult to obtain atm) , do you have some flavors + recipes to recommend that will be kind of dumb-proof enough for me?

Also, what other things should I buy? Like bottles, syringes, pipettes etc?

And how to test without wasting too much stuff? I don't have a RDA, just some pod systems (boost, Caliburn) + an MTL Dvarw FL tank.

What I usually vape (like) are: Flavour art Maxx Blend 9mg, some diy Custard/banana/cream, lime/mint, I liked Juice Head peach/pear + Nasty Juice gold blend(a friend brought me these from EU), some green apple diy juice etc.

Thanks for any recommendation! And sorry for the long post :)

Search for So Bucky Aroma/Super Aroma and also for Molinberry, they're both from the same company/lab in Poland, if you can get Inawera flavor you should get those two brand too.

Thanks, I will definitely search for them.

Also, buy a scale, don't go the syringue road it's wayyyy less effective. I recommend the AWS-LB501 if I'm not mistaken.

Search for all the information on the sidebar of the subs.

As for recipe, check alltheflavor.com and eliquiderecipe, shorted in ATF and ELR. You can put your aroma list and it'll propose you recipe you can mix.

Here's à good first step:

Definitely, especially SSA they are 1 very good 2 very potent (you will need less% on many of them) and 3 very cheap so I would recommend you them very much. You can find the review of SSA on this subs.

Molinberry is more hit or miss in my opinion but they do have a bunch of great flavor too. Problem is that they are expensive.

Have a good vape comrade.

I don't really have recipe recommendations, but a store suggestion. Perhaps you can order from TheChosenFew? They are located in Bulgaria and I would say that they are pretty good.

I'm new but my current go to shake and vape I really like:

Inw shisha lime + inw mixed mint + inw cactus, but I also add tpa lemon sicily & ws-23 because I like it extra cooling and big fan of lemon lime. reminds me of al fakher citrus mint hookah if you like that.

recipe so far: "I wanted ohrange but they gave me lemon-lime" tpa lemon siciliy 2%

inw shisha lime 3%

inw cactus 0.5%

inw mint mix 1%

ws-23 2.5% (probs should only do 1.5-2 and up the mint instead but this how I like it)

sweetener 0.5%

I'd say do 0.25-0.5 of the WS-23 if you're not used to it. 0.75-1.0 is already too much for me. You can always add later if needed.

too late I'm already at 2.5-3% ws-23 in literally every juice I make (and cactus I can't stop adding cactus to everything). If you don't have sinus issues its probably a bit much lol

Inawera cactus with some guava is literally all I’ve made the past four years, it’s perfect for me. The guava I use isn’t inawera I think, but I’m pretty sure they have one of their own

Cactus by inawera has changed lives. Use in less than .5%

Interesting. I see a lot of folks like it. Never tried cactus juice myself tho.

It’s a wetting agent. Use sparingly

It's a good back note. This guy said it right. It's a wetting agent. (Makes dry juice juicier feeling.) Dragon fruit by TFA does the same thing but with less flavor that cuts through

TPA Dragon Fruit does not make juice wetter. It blends flavours together and is not even a real dragon fruit flavour.

Amber dropper bottles to keep your nic in, digital scale that goes down to .01g

If cash isn't too tight, don't go for the very cheapest 0.01g scale, I scrimped and mine jumps up and down by 0.05g or more and sometimes takes a couple of seconds to make its mind up about the final weight; so while I get 2 decimal places, only the first one seems entirely reliable.

Ideally a scale that has a long idle timeout too, annoying when they turn off after 60 seconds of no change, if you get distracted or whatever half way though adding something you can easily come back to a blank screen. A longer timeout or ideally a scale with a power lead that doesn't turn itself off at all is best.

And INW Biscuit is the flavour of the gods, an absolute must !

The cheapest ones only go up to 100g too.

Yes good point, mine only goes up to 100g. I decided if I want to mix over the limit in the glass beaker I have, which isn't far off 100g itself, I'll do the flavours in there, then add the base liquids using my 0.1g but 2kg max kitchen scale, a bit of a faff but I'm not likely to do that often.

Others will chime in on specifics, but just go simple. I can't speak to Inawera flavors, but for now you can get by with two fruits and a custard base given what you enjoy. Try to pick two or three fruits that go well together, as then those three flavors can make multiple for variety. e.g., let's say a mixed berry and pear and cactus (cactus is popular from Inawera, but you don't know if you like it). You can then do:

  1. Pear custard
  2. Berry custard
  3. Cactus custard
  4. Pear & Berry & Cactus custard
  5. Pear & Berry & Cactus
  6. Pear & Berry
  7. Pear & Cactus
  8. Cactus & Berry

While you are getting your feet wet, buy the smallest amounts. You'll have your hands full just nailing down ratios of what you like and don't, and a vape can taste very different with just a touch of custard vs a bunch. There's the temptation to go crazy, but you can only vape so much -- as you add in flavors try to make sure they can pair up with what you already have. Good luck!

Oh boy, INW! So many good flavors that, imo, you could just stick with that one flavor house and things will turn out fine.

RBA/RDA are on the higher side of cost up front but will save you a lot of money in the long run if you plan on sticking with mixing for a while.

Even if you don't anticipate mixing by syringe, a bunch of those disposable plastic pipette things can be very handy for all sorts of things. No need to dispose of them either, just suck and blow some warm water a few times and they're practically as good as new.

Proper hard syringes are great too, and almost as cheap, ideally with a steel wide bore (well, 1-2mm) 'needle', normal syringe needles are too fine. Again, super-handy for this and that even if you don't intend to use them for dripping/pouring generally.

If you plan to mix direct into the bottle you'll steep the juice in, a few of those little disposable (but again, don't) plastic funnels are very handy too, dripping into small holes can be a pain, especially when you need to put a good bit of base liquid in.

A great tip somebody posted recently is to hook a little piece of wire or something over the neck of the bottle first to ensure an air gap up the outside of the funnel and so ensure a decent flow.
