'What are you vaping?' Thread - Week of December 13, 2021
submitted almost 4 years ago by c5b4c91772c729fc7d0a

This thread is for you to share what you are vaping lately, be it your own or another mixers recipe. Maybe you happened to stumble upon your new ADV in the Monthly Recipes Thread? Or did someone recommend your first mix to you in the Suggest a recipe for my flavors Thread

Share what you liked or didn't like too much, but most importantly, please make sure to properly link to the recipe and to the mixer if they're on reddit.

If you need some inspiration, some websites keep track of your mixes and batches: e-Liquid Recipes and All The Flavors.

Also make sure to checkout last week's thread for inspiration or to follow up on a mix that turned out even better after a week of steeping! We keep an archive of all the past threads in our wiki as well

Happy Vaping!

[Wild Horses] (https://alltheflavors.com/recipes/131078#wild_horses_by_tamvapes) by TamVapes. I love it.

| % | Vendor | Flavor | |---|--------|--------| |0.5|FLV|Bourbon| |1|FLV|Cream| |0.5|FLV|Fig| |0.25|FLV|Kinako soy| |0.25|FLV|Oriental Tobacco| |0.5|FLV|Turkish Tobacco|

Tam describes it as a “delicious after dinner tobacco vape.” It’s not a bad description, it kinda tastes like the scene in an old movie when the men put on their smoking jackets and go have their after-dinner Bourbons in the cigar and pipe smoking room/library. The pleasant balance of the musty raisin with the tobacco probably contribute a lot to that old-timey library vibe.

I was a little concerned about the 3% total flavor, with concentrations being on the low low end of where I’d usually use a few of these flavors. But, I have to let you know, it is indeed very fully flavored. Well rounded, too, it doesn’t feel like something is missing.

I really didn’t think 0.25% Oriental + 0.5% Turkish was going to be enough tobacco for more than a slight accent, I wondered if it would even taste like tobacco. I was wrong, it’s plenty of tobacco.

But, it does come across very Bourbon-forward to me. It’s not just a hint of bourbon, it is legitimately boozy and I would even call it a Bourbon vape with wonderful accents that include tobacco, rather than a tobacco vape. It’s a very nutty tobacco, but it’s tobacco. And Fig. And both of these things do indeed pair very well with Bourbon, I don’t know why I didn’t think to mix FLV’s charred oaky Bourbon with their musty Fig before but the two get along exceptionally well, and the nutty tobacco is also an excellent complement. I don’t taste any Cream under all this, but it does feel very thick and weighty, and I’m sure it’s mostly the Cream doing that. Bottom line, this is an excellent full-bodied, robustly flavored juice perfect for anyone who likes Bourbon and tobacco.

A couple recipes by others that I’ve enjoyed enough to mix a full 60ml of each:

Simple Limon — sweet and bright lemon.

Honey Guava — an interesting twist on one of my ADVs, Rainforest.

I am going to have to try honey guava. Rainforest is my all time favorite.

It hasn’t replaced Rainforest in my rotation, but I will definitely mix up another 60ml when I finish the first bottle. I may mix a tester with less super sweet, as the Milk & Honey adds a lot of sweetness on its own.

I've been screwing around with my own little variation of Apple-Bacco for a long time now. Still making some tweaks to it but here is what I'm enjoying today:

Fuji Smoke 5C.1
Mixed At: 75vg/25pg
Steep Time: 2 weeks (3 is better)

MFG|Flavor|% :-:|:-:|:-: FA|Fuji Apple|1% FW|Butterscotch Ripple|1.5% DFS|Holy Holy Grail RY4 V2|5% FLV|Mild Tobacco|1% FA|Pear|0.5% WF|Vanilla Ruyan Custard|2%

I'm so glad WF came out with Vanilla Ruyan Custard, it pairs so unbelievably well with RY4s (though I still like CAP Vanilla Custard v1 in this recipe). It brings it's own RY4 notes to the table and the light egginess really makes it great. When combined with the v2 version of Holy Grail RY4, it makes for a great creamy RY4. The RY4 notes from FLV Mild Tobacco make this a trio for success, bringing some real tobacco notes to the table at the end.

For the Apple i've always liked pairing FA Fuji Apple with FA Pear at a 2|1 or 3|1 ratio, FA Pear implies that extra bit of juiciness to the bright full apple flavor from FA Fuji. Top it off with Butterscotch Ripple from the original recipe and you have your candy covered apple.

Now you can add sweeteners to this (I'm a CAP SS guy). It will help enhance the fruits but even in small amounts it almost makes it too sweet. Without the sweetener however it can taste a little dry (thus the FA Pear). All the other flavors bring a good amount of sweetness to the party already, so I'd recommend trying it without first and then adding later if it doesn't meet your palette.

This week I'm vaping the last two 100ml bottles of bought-in juice I have left until they're gone, and trying not to vape the 28 bottles of juice steeping in a cupboard.

Well, a drip or two here and there isn't really vaping it; that's essential testing that is, it's a completely different thing.

I hate how Reddit makes you create a new account rather than allowing you to change your name, but anyhow I'm vaping my own Peaches and Cream Knockout

Dueling custards - QUICKDRAW! (in the point Blank RDA, of course) vs. PB Custard Cups (in the Gorge RDA)

So last month I realized I finally had everything needed to make QUICKDRAW! by u/xGRANITEx (Silky). Whipped up a 50ml batch 24 days ago and now that it's ready, I've ripped through almost 40ml in a day and half. So I'm glad I gambled on that 50ml. This one is a another super-solid custard from Silky. It's hard to go wrong with FA Custard Premium AND TFA Vanilla Custard II as the base since both those flavors are top notch.

Gotta admit that when I first mixed this and did a knuckle test I was a bit concerned. It was harsh and the peaches just tasted way over the top. But now that everything has cozied up after the steep it feels like the peaches are a little on the conservative side. This is more noticable when chain vaping it - the peaches kind of fade out and the WF Aged Bourbon Cream comes in to play, giving it this nice dynamic. Keep the wick fairly cool for more peach, or get them nice and hot for more aged bourbon. He did a great job nailing that canned peaches profile and in this mix they bring a slight tartness and some sweetness. It's not a candy peach at all even though FLV Peach can lean that way. FLV Milk & Honey must be doing it's job here because I can't pick out of from the other flavors like I usually can with this one.

Now for some thoughts on WF Aged Bourbon Cream SC and aged bourbon cream flavors. I've been avoiding them because there's 3 different ones in common use. The WF one used in QUICKDRAW!, then 2 from Real Flavors (RF), one is regular and one is SC. I have the RF Aged Bourbon Cream (non-SC) version and so far I prefer the taste of that one and interestingly find it about twice as strong as WF's version. I will also pick up the SC version sometime to complete the collection. I really like these flavors so far and glad I ventured into Aged Bourbon Cream land. Next up: maybe advocado creams?

So, back to dueling custards, QUICKDRAW! and PB Custard Cups. They go great together and for some reason the room-note of the 2 smells like graham crackers. Yes, I've clouded out my office a few times and walked back in. :) QUICKDRAW! is fruitier, tarter, less sweet, and slightly more "sneezy" (even though PB Custard Cups base is CAP VCV1). PB Custard Cups is softer and sweeter since it's a Reese/candy custard profile. It has a really nice buttery sweetness from the butter and EM. I think it's one of the best recipes I've created and has recently moved up to my 250ml club. QUICKDRAW! is a strong contender on the battlefield though and is definitely moving up to the 100ml club. Which one do I prefer? Dunno, I'd have to say it's a DRAW. Hah! Anyways, I'm gunna stop blabbing about flavors now and get back to mixing. Have a good night guys, drive friendly.
