I am thinking of buying a bunch of the 120 ml transparent Chubby Gorilla plastic bottles with the white twist cap (Choosing these mainly because because these seem to be the only 100+ ml plastic squeeze bottles available easily where I am).
Are these bottles one time use disposable bottles or can the same be used for multiple DIY fills?
Yes they are reusable but they eventually get creased and can crack. If you can get them, ldpe bottles last a lot longer due to being a softer plastic.
LDPE is nicer, I agree.
It's all personal preference. I for one hate LDPE.
I could never find a bottle I liked. LDPE is my go-to because they last forever, but when the bottles get low it takes ages to get juice into a tank, and squeeze too hard and your cap might blow off. Chubby's I've never had the problem with caps blowing off and they're easier to squeeze while low, but they don't last long enough. And I hate glass eyedropper bottles because that really takes forever to fill a tank and is messier/can't do it on the go.
They're stiff enough that they hold a few crinkles after some use, and it was immediately disappointing to see, but I keep reordering them and I've reused many of mine 3-4 times at this point anyway. The first thing to go wrong will be the two parts of the cap separating, making it really hard to remove.

I love this thing.
I think they mean the child resistant part breaking so it is difficult to take off the cap, not the bottle top.
That being said, use the cap and you can pop the top - no tool required
Not for nothin', I've been known to refill old e-juice bottles that I bought with product in them. Like others have said, they're kind of a pain in the butt because they're difficult to open and then the stiff plastic warps after a while...but yes, totally reusable. I have other, fresh bottles though too and much prefer the LDPE kind for my purse and the glass ones with droppers for at home.
> difficult to open
For under $5 it's pretty easy to find a tool to open gorillas easily, though you have to be careful to make sure you are getting a metal one. I've got a "Reewape 5 in 1 shortfill cap opener tool" that I love for refilling or getting out that last half ml or more of flavor since the flavor places here started using chubby gorillas.
I used a dull blade for a while, later I used the lid (apparently designed for it), and this shortfill tool is just so much easier and less messy.
Well, honestly I just meant "difficult to open by comparison to" other options. I like the idea of this opener tool you have though... I generally use a random flat knife I found in the drawer at my parents old house and formed some sort of weird attachment to. It lives in my desk drawer. The only problem with that is it sends the cap flying across the room 9 times out of 10, and then I have to go fetch it. My alternative is to use a small pair of needle nose pliers, but that chews into the plastic. Gonna look for that tool though, thanks :)
I have 100 I just washed and dried , some have been re-used 10 times
Sounds good! I get it for around 60-70 cents a piece, so I guess it's worth it. And since I use only one flavour profile, I don't even need to wash it!
Technically yes, but I find them annoying as they leak more than my tank. I recently bought these for 120ml storage and have been very happy so far.

Where do they leak from?
Your mileage may vary, but I find that they're never completely sealed as the top cap is more about child proofing than sealing. I find that if I put one in my pocket or backpack, if the bottle gets squeezed, a small yet annoyingly significant amount of juice will leak out from the bottle squirting juice into the top cap.
I love this style but it is getting harder to find them with that specific two part cap.
I use/re-use these all the time. The current 120ml bottle I'm using has been reused at least 30 times this year and it's still in good shape. No leaks or anything.
(I actually bought 10 of the 120ml "chubby Gorrilla" bottles originally, expecting them to wear out faster. After almost 1 year since I purchased them I still have 9 brand new ones left)
They'll wrinkle a bit over time where they give when you squeeze.
Eventually the flexing will cause a rupture and they'll leak. You might not notice it at first, I didn't. I couldn't figure out why nothing was coming out when I squeezed....turns out it was air, mine busted when the fluid levels were low enough....but I had no reserve bottles so it eventually became a problem.
Ordered 10 off amazon because they're dirt cheap and I was concerned about other bottle types....(eg LDPE like the softer plastic old-school catsup bottles)..which is a question which I've been meaning to ask the sub(or google). I wonder if they're safe or not for inhaling...
The main difference is the ones I had, the chubby gorilla nozzle is so super thin, which I don't need. I liked the wider tip of the condiment bottle.
I've reused them several times with no signs of cracking only the creasing. I should have washed them after I finished with 1 but I was lazy and use to wait until I'd nearly used the 40 that I had before washing them . That got a bit tedious washing them all at once , so they recently went into the recycling bin and I bought some new ones which I will no doubt do the same process with. These are LDPE though and are of much better quality with better fill caps.
All down to preference and availability. If it's what you have access to, then that kind of answers that. Should be able to reuse them but they look like hell. At least the commercial pet bottles I've gotten look creased to hell after I'm through, single use. They crinkle and can get weak spots.
Not a fan of chubby gorilla to be honest. For diy I prefer ldpe. Thicker plastic, softer, easier to squeeze. Less prone to splitting if dropped (bounce vs split). I've got some ldpe's that were commercial juice bottles I've cleaned and reused for over a year now.
Not sure it's recommended for either type but definitely keep out of the microwave when it comes to chubby gorilla. Some plastics you can microwave when damp and it will sterilize them, pet isn't it. Less than 10s in the microwave and they warped and melted. I think I'd rather use a jam or jelly jar and an eye dropper over CG but that's me. If amazon is an option maybe have a look for wide mouth ldpe with twist top caps. At least the US version of amazon has various brands, twdrer 16 pack of 120ml with twist caps is like 14usd. Only suggesting because amazon has sites all over and ships most places, might be an option for you.
I hate chubby gorillas too. Wide mouth LDPE
Nice. Similar price to the ones I get on amazon. Can't see the nozzles on those, if they're the needle type? Assuming so since they have the child proof caps. One of the reasons I like the twist tops, no child resistant crud. I hate fighting those. Similar (almost identical) to the ones Wayne uses on his diyordie channel. What I like too is the twist cap has the twist open spout but also twists/threads to the top of the bottle. Not a cap over top of any sort of snap-in insert like the needle tip droppers. So no tool or using a flat tip screwdriver prying the pour spout from the bottle, just grab and twist and the entire top opens up. So much easier.
I've been using V-GOD Empty 30 ml salt nic bottles for 3 years which i believe are gorilla but not sure if their the soft or hard(kinda in between) but never once cracked after hundreds of mixes, tops pop off but never blow off AND their the same sized tips as my concentrates which is quite nice..i believe they are indeed Gorilla..however I've never bought 60ml in fear I wouldn't be able to pull the larger tips out with just my T-shirt anymore lol..So how do the 60 ml n larger tips come off? Do I need that metal tool shaped like a flat skull on a lanyard? Anyone?
There’s a gorilla on the bottom, the PET 1 symbol, and it says chubby gorilla.
Try this, I could never get it to work though
I don’t like those bottles that much anyway. I use them for my nic though, I have some smoked ones. on the left
If you can, look in to getting glass bottles instead. Guaranteed to be usable far longer. I've seen bottles from 10ml all the way up to 250ml. I bought 15x 50ml bottles with pipettes two years ago and can safely say that I'll never go back to plastic. Very easy to clean and doesn't add to plastic pollution. Just make sure to not drop them from an all too high height. My bottles are pretty thick so they have held together from falls from about 4 ft, but YMMV. If you use an RDA it is also easier to not over drip while using a pipette.
