In Digestion, a cry for HALP!

Welcome back to our sophomore effort to bring you the highlights of last week in DIY.

DIY Featured Recurring Thread: Cloning

Every month, we get more and more people who find out sub because their specific flavor they have been vaping is no longer continued, harder to find, can't be mailed to them and/or they are just ready to move on from the uncertainty of where will I get my juice from? Undeniable legislative prohibition vs vaping aside, folks land in our midst with a burning desire to clone their beloved mixes, the ones that got them off the analogs, hopefully forever. What a shame it would be for all of us who have found freedom from smoking just to return to it due to lack of access.

And, yet, there it is, the monthly Clone Request Thread in all its glory. Just a head's up: Clone Requests outside this thread are against the rules. Clone requests on the front page of the sub will be moderated. If you do seek a clone, here's a few tips/reminders:

  • Many of us haven't had commercial liquid in years and don't know the flavor you are super intimate with. Do everyone a favor and provide a description from the vendor. Also, those descriptions are a joke.

  • Make sure you also tell us what you taste, what you like about it, what (if anything) you would change/want improved if at all. This gives someone an opportunity to make a 'Remix' version of that same profile using flavors and percents we have come to know today.

  • The recipe you are vaping in a commercial liquid was probably developed before the latest generation of devices were built making them likely strange recipes by "Today's" standards in mixing.

Dear potential cloners, I invite you to take the plunge into DIY and ask around here or in discord for recommendations on recipes that seem similar and leave that commercial liquid behind.

Last Week's Highlights

I dont know... I guess I'm done making sense of this past week. If that hurt your head as much as mine, consider writing up a post that shares a recipe (with notes), sparks a discussion, write a flavor review, or just simply write something that breaks the monotony.

Unsung Hero

Let's take a moment to acknowledge the contributions of u/Mother_Punker for being this week's Unsung Hero. I want to personally thank you for your contributions to the threads.

Ok, that's enough outta me. Keep an eye out for upcoming Recipe of the Year threads. Now's a good time to dig through those pesky monthly recipe threads and mix those recipes you've been putting off.

until next week,
i

😁 It’s so helpful to have the subscribe to post option now and I’d encourage other experienced mixers to do so for the weekly new mixer thread.
I used to feel bad sending new mixers over there to post instead of creating a new thread because they always complained they didn’t get as many responses.

TIL. honestly, I had no idea. I just always check in when I have time, but I like to know that is an option for the future or, as you said, for more experienced mixers. I may do that for the monthly threads like cloning. Thank you so much for sharing. Oh and i hope you enjoy your new flair for a bit. ;)
