Did Everyone Stock up on NIC?
submitted almost 4 years ago by blastcoinmining

I'm just curious did all of you guys stock up on NIC? I haven't bought vape mail in a while because I've been totally self sufficient with my vaping needs, but I now know that the USPS has officially ended shipping vape mail.

I am fortunate because I am able to get stuff shipped to my address with X Shipping service but I haven't experienced service from them yet. I'm also wondering if I can schedule deliveries for vape mail on my days off because even though I go into work at 3pm packages usually don't get delivered to me until like 4 or 5pm. Anyway this is going to be rough, I don't go to any local vape shops because they only sell medicore gear, like all they sell is common starter gear.

VAPE GEAR: I bought a bunch (like 12 tanks) of RTA mesh tanks and I got like 30 rolls of the 5ft Vandy Vape mesh strips to cut my own mesh coils. I buy all my cotton off of Amazon and I even buy replacement glass of of Amazon. I got a bunch of mods still in the box as well. Yeah I'm totally all set for a long time but I do know that stuff gets dated so eventually I'm going to want some new gear. Heck, I was looking on element vape just yesterday and noticed Lost Vape released another 100watt mini mod that I want to get.

As For DIY: I ended up getting three 1 liter bottles of 250mg/ml nic in VG from Liquid Nicotine Wholesalers way back in March. At that strength it should literally last me 15+ years making it @ 4mg/ml but I still ended up buying a gallon of 100mg/ml nic in VG from perfectvape lol. I got over 300 flavor concentrates already and I'm throughly stock up on VG and PG. I get all my Chubby Gorrila bottles from a distributor and I usually buy 60ml bottles @$45 for 100 bottles.

I literally haven't bought any vape mail since March and to be honest I'm kind of nervous getting stuff shipped to me with X Delivery because they are literally just getting started. I guess Element vape is working with them to build up the network so that is a plus but we all know that it will take a long time. Anyway I just hope it works out so we all can get vape mail delivered to us safely.

What is your take on this and where do you all see the future of Vape Mail?

To be honest I'm really worried because its going to be harder for Chinese manufacturers to get the approvals to allow their vape stuff into the United States. Don't they need to file under the PACT ACT too? I also think FastTech stopped shipping to the US as well and to be honest I didn't think they would ever stop. I heard they were getting a lot of stuff shipped back to them so this may be the reason for them cutting the US off.

I just hope this all works out in the end because even though I took the steps to prepare myself I'm still devastated by this new PACT act. It sucks so bad 👎

Stocked up back in January.

The only DIY item effected by the shipping ban is liquid nicotine. Bottles, flavors, PG/VG aren't under the PACT act. We should be able to continue to get them no problem.

Congress is proposing an enormous tax on nicotine. If it passes it won't matter that nic can't be shipped except by specialty courier. Most people won't be able to afford to buy a liter.

Yes. Most of us here stocked up way before.

Yeah man I'm glad everyone did because I would hate to see this community die out and just fade away. I'm sure these companies will find a way to still ship using alternatives like X Shipping. I went to element vape and they are still delivering to my zip code using that service. Only problem is the trust and I don't fully trust them yet

Unless you are an idiot like me who completely forgot about this stupid ban. I get my coils through directvapor every month and I couldn't figure out why my coils were taking so long and then realized they had to start using X shipping. I am waiting on an order from the 10/21 that has been in my city since the 9th. My auto subscription for the 2nd of the month is already in Portland and I am North of Seattle. So hopefully one of them gets here soon because I am out of coils for my preferred pods and had to pull my old box mods out because I have some coils for some of my tanks.

So now I am trying to find a place that will ship some nicotine here and I am not having a lot of luck, I either get through most of checkout to get a message they can't ship to my state or I find a place that I can't find much information on, so don't feel comfortable buying from them.

The "laws" seem like panic and moral grandstanding. The FDA is pretty lazy and they will only go so far, imo. The whole tobacco sector was pushed onto them.

> The "laws" seem like panic and moral grandstanding

That's exactly what they are, just like Prohibition.

FDA laziness isn't going to stop or slow down the PACT act though. Congress gave that responsibility to the ATF.

I will be dead and buried before I run out of nic

Same. Before I run out of anything but flavorings and pg/vg.

I had nic delivered this morning. No problem at all. Came usps via xps shipping. Was shipped on Tuesday, on my doorstep today. Usps never got anything to me that fast from around the block, much less from halfway across the country. Shipping was like $3 dollars more though.

Same here. Ordered a liter of salt nic from Heartland 10/29, delivered 11/2 via USPS no issues or signatures needed.

Many companies who haven'tn't been PMTA or PACT act compliant ever, have been carrying on business as usual. This isn't going to last forever. Sooner or later USPS will stop shipping their packages. I suggest anyone who isn't stocked up by now take advantage of this and stock up now. They will get shut down eventually.

Vaping Zone announced no more shipments recently. I doubt they ever submitted a PMTA for their juice and they haven't been collecting taxes or signature fees.

Can you share the vendor ? Looking for some nic

Sure, man. Check out Perfect Vape. Last I checked a qt was about $70, and a gallon $200. I paid $94 for a quart, with tax and shipping.

So X Delivery hands it off to USPS? If so I guess this is the loophole lol

by cakeordeath176almost 4 years ago

No it's not. The shipments will stop completely, eventually.

Yeah, lifetime of nic last September when the mail ban was announced. And fwiw I got some stuff from FT twice about two and three months ago - one order required a gift card loophole thing and then another a month after that was back to normal.

I can't speak to things being sent back to them but... I placed an order with them last month just to see - 6 packs of GS coils and a mouse pad. No issues at all, took 12 days from FT to my mailbox.

And yeah, I've been stocked with nic for years now

Bought a gallon of 250mg nic a year ago to stick in the deep freeze. I poured out some into a 100ml bottle to keep in the upstairs freezer and have barely put a dent in it.

Just started vaping a little over a month ago, so no I’m not stocked up or prepared at all. Terrified and unprepared.

by AccidentallyRelevantalmost 4 years ago

You just need to buy nicotine, splurge and get $100-$200 worth so you'll be good for a few years

by Rational-ishalmost 4 years ago

I just lucked out and was contacted by the company supplying my flavors. Have about 15 years worth coming my way soon. Whew!

I just placed a fasttech order to the US with no problem. I haven't received it yet but they didn't give me any indication that they wouldn't ship it when I ordered it

Same, several a month with no issues.

by probywan1337almost 4 years agoI will rip you a new one if you don't use the sidebar & search.

I have one liter in the freezer. Once that's gone I'm either gonna quit, vape 0mg, or go back to smoking. Who knows at this point

So is this it? I hadn't heard that USPS stopped shipping. So is there no way to buy nic now other than picking it up in person or asking a vape shop to order it for you?

Overseas suppliers don't care about the ban, I just got a shipment of nic from Hiliq.

1 points

by Doc_Optiplexalmost 4 years ago

How is hiliq? A little nervous about Chinese nic but eventually if there is no choice then I will have to (probably in like a decade at least, but still)

by CrustyPlumberalmost 4 years ago

I am happy with them. The shipping fee is pretty high, but it's Fedex and came in ~5 days. It comes in a tinted glass container, with a good seal. I got what is basically a lifetime supply for about $100.

1 points

by hesherettealmost 4 years agoMissing One Flavor

most of the tobacco in the world comes from China or India to begin with, the US sellers literally just dilute the pure strength nic they get from somewhere else + then resell it. Carolina Xtracts is the ONLY US-grown, US-made product I've ever heard of. so hopefully that eases your concerns.

What’s the ship time like ? Have you tried any of the flavorings ? Gonna give them a try

1 points

by CrustyPlumberalmost 4 years ago

It took 5 days, I didn't try any of their flavors.

4 points

by blastcoinminingalmost 4 years ago

I think they will still ship it to you through X Parcel service if its accepted by your zip code. I was also wondering the same if a vape shop would order for us. They could take a percentage fee or something for the hassle. I'm fortunate that I live in a more urban area to where I can still get deliveries through X Shipping but in all honesty I dont trust them yet

I recently got into DIY so I ordered quite a bit of flavors and 1 gallon of nicotine. I’ll eventually start using less until I don’t even need to buy it. I should be good for awhile

Yes, and stopped mixing and vaping. Now stuck with 12 liters in the freezer~

2 points

by blastcoinminingalmost 4 years ago

Why did you stop?

1 points

by erp0432almost 4 years ago

On the mixing, mostly because of the time that I didn't have for it anymore. And the regulations and USPS ban were enough of a nuisance to help in the decision.

On the vaping, no particular reason I guess. Once I didn't have to mix anymore I just stopped vaping it too. I been vaping since the beginning and Just tiring of it. I'm more tired of carrying around a mod, battery and juice than the vaping itself though to be fair.

Yet before vaping was available I would quit smoking for a few years only to return to it for a few more. So I'll likely return to vaping in a few years too. The nicotine's all put up properly and still clear as water after a year so it should be fine for 30 more.

As long as you split the nic up in smaller bottles and never open them on the freezer they can last years. I put all my nic in tiny 2oz bottles and I take them out of the freezer when needed leaving all the other nic in the freezer. Nic can last years man!!

1 points

by AccidentallyRelevantalmost 4 years ago

Well you can send it as long as money isn't involved. If I were a nic website I'd let people buy tickets that they can exchange for products instead of charging them directly for products.

1 points

by blastcoinminingalmost 4 years ago

Thats a good idea 💡 Yeah sort of like how fasttech does it with the gift cards!! There has got to be a real loophole somewhere though that will allow us to buy nic. We might be able to go to a vape shop and have them order it for us? I'm all stocked up but I'm just trying to figure out the loophole here

1 points

by under_icealmost 4 years ago

Looks like I'm out of luck in MN. I had a good amount I've been using for a 2 couple years. Time to reorder and I can't get it shipped here...yikes.

1 points

by blastcoinminingalmost 4 years ago

Man I'm so sorry 😞

Could you order it and have it sent somewhere where someone could sign for you? I know X Shipping (which is what all the online vendors are using now) ships to more rural areas around bigger towns and cities. You could also try talking to a vape shop around you and ask them nicely if they could accept your order and have them sign for you. Also look up some of the vendors selling Nic to see how far away they are from you. You might be able to do a instore pick up.

Just trying to lay out options for you and man if I had enough nic I would sell some to you but I gotta stay stocked up myself. May I ask how much Nic you got left? Try to lower your percentage in recipes to make it stretch more because the shipping network is just starting out but eventually they will expand to other areas.

Either way hope everything works out man!! I hate seeing what's going on in the vape world right now. Its like one of the only hobbies I stuck with and enjoyed for like 8 years. Making juice is the funnest hobbie I ever had in my life. I would rather buy a bunch of flavorings than buy a bunch of gear although I did buy like 10 mods, 10 RTA tanks, accessories, etc to stock up before the ban. I think I got about 20+ years worth of Nic in my freezer. I store all my nic in little 2oz bottles and I made 100 60ml bottles of juice and I still got some left in the 2oz amber bottle. I got about 10 2oz bottles left and I got the rest of my Nic in 500ml Amber glass that I'll split up in 2oz bottles when the time comes. I think I got 11 500ml bottles of 250mg/ml left and I got 5 100mg/ml bottles left. I just hope it holds up in the freezer and I think it will with the way I split it up and use it.

Thanks, I don't know. The zip code checker on a couple sites say it's ok but no go when it comes to ordering. Sucks...making juice is easy once you have everything together.

I’m down to my last 120ml bottle of nic, is there somewhere I can still order it?
