Just remember.... You can prick your finger, but don't finger....errrm... nevermind!

INW Cactus... Not a fan of the flavor, but love the juiciness it brings to the fiesta!

You've pricked my interest to watch this next episode. I've only ever used Inw cactus and it seems to be a love or hate flavor with the crowd. Wondering how many more options are available. I've heard SSA cactus is pretty good but haven't tested it out yet.

by ID10-Talmost 4 years agoWinner: Best Recipe of 2019 - Counter Punch

Just my $0.02

SSA Cactus lacks that wonderfully wet quality of INW Cactus, but tastes a lot more like one of those aloe juice drinks. Personally, I don’t like them, at least not the original flavored ones without added lime or mango flavor. But for people who are looking for that sort of flavor, this is awesome. It tastes like aloe juice drink, without the beverage wetness.

Is MB Mexican cactus different from regular cactus? Read conflicting information.

It's different. Skip the Mexican Cactus if you don't want to own three Molinberry Cacti, it's not as good as the regular Cactus or Cactus Cupcake.

Prickly Pear right? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nopal

Nopal

>Nopal (from the Nahuatl word nohpalli [noʔˈpalːi] for the pads of the plant) is a common name in Spanish for Opuntia cacti (commonly referred to in English as prickly pear), as well as for its pads. There are approximately 114 known species endemic to Mexico, where it is a common ingredient in numerous Mexican cuisine dishes. The nopal pads can be eaten raw or cooked, used in marmalades, soups, stews and salads, as well as being used for traditional medicine or as fodder for animals. Farmed nopales are most often of the species Opuntia ficus-indica or Opuntia matudae although the pads of almost all Opuntia species are edible.

When I started mixing INW cactus was the new it flavoring. I read the reviews and thought I got to get some of that. I ordered the bigger bottle. It was my first lesson of mixing. Just because others like it doesn't mean you will.

This sounds like a German flavor week. Here the link to mein kleiner grüner Kaktus - my small green cactus. A classic since 1934…

Now I know that your little green cactus pricks!

But they're Polish, mostly. 8/15 of the Cactus flavors I have are from Poland.

Yes, course of history. Maybe not the part we are proud of. But the song is still popular.

I bought Wrecka Aloe ages ago but haven't done much with it. Anyone had any success? I'm thinking of adding some inw cactus, maybe FA white grape.

It's pretty good on its own to me. Like you, I haven't done much with it.

There's the Kaktus King, himself.

We've got cactus custard, cactus cookie, cactus grape drank, and even cactus bacco thanks to you. I'm not sure what's left.

Cactus chocolate? Cactus peppermint? Cactus tea?

If you were really going to make Chocolate Cactus, I'd try it with WF Chocolate Frosting first. Not a great reason, it just came to mind as a hunch after trying a MB Cactus Cupcake.

Personally, inw dragonfruit tastes like a better version of inw cactus.

2 points

by rufus318almost 4 years ago

I’ve only ever tried TFA Dragonfruit and don’t much use it or care for it. I like INW Cactus, especially in Rainforest . Is INW Dragonfruit similarly juicy?

3 points

by duke4ealmost 4 years ago

I know that people mention juiciness of INW Cactus, but honestly I don't "feel it". So I can't compare the juicy part with Dragonfruit or any other flavor as well :D

Like many of us my only experience is with Inawera Cactus. The only time I've tried to use it as an actual cactus flavor I've been disappointed, but maybe I just don't like cactus.

2 points

by itisidennisiahalmost 4 years ago

I've found that INW Cactus plus WS-23 makes an easy lazy mix. When I want to taste recipe. Usually INW Cactus is not recommended for higher than 1% but this recipe uses 2% and I still find it quite good, no offnotes. I'd up the WS-23 since I like it icy cold.

2 points

by crass-ulaalmost 4 years ago

I love INW Cactus, and frequently use it to "juice" up my orange/grapefruit soda mixes. I've also been known to mix up just INW cactus and WS-23, but lately I've been curious about other cactus flavors though.
