As always, the purpose of this thread is to gather the community to explore a category of flavor and its many uses.

####Q: How do flavors get put on the schedule?
####A: Requests and suggestions from people like YOU!
If there's something you'd like to see, just post a request in this thread. You can request both a specific flavor profile and where it lands on the calendar.
I have "only" 10 licorice flavors, so I'm really excited to try some licorice recipes. It was hard to decide which ones to try, even with help, but I narrowed it down to
Black Custard by /u/staybert (a weird-looking simple recipe, I can't resist)
Fluffy Peep by DavidNK2L
Blackcurrant and liquorice 321 by Azzer (a simple recipe representing the many recipes that pair blackcurrant and licorice)
Sweet Venom by DaveNK2L (I am intrigued)
and three licorice banana candy recipes for a head to head to head matchup to see who did it better
Monkey Heads by Tessaenzo
Monkey Heads Remix by /u/kittybit8
and Banana Licorice Taffy by Mindfloodz
And I guess /u/eyemsam89 wants me to try his Tooty Rooty recipe as well
Thank you for posting this list of licorice recipes. Lots of good ideas here!
There's more out there:
I'm really looking forward to this episode! I've never liked black liquorice thanks to some high school bully BS, but I'm happy to admit that I'm now dipping my toes into vaping it. Cocoliconut Cream Pie is an absolute masterpiece by u/SpiderJRusalem. It's a deliciously perfect example of how tasty + approachable black liquorice can be. It's honestly one of my all-time favorite mixes, which is insane considering I had never wanted to even try a liquorice vape. Thanks for changing my mind Spdr! I was very wrong about black liquorice + I can't wait to explore the profile more in-depth.
Feel like I should link this here: https://www.reddit.com/r/DIY_eJuice/comments/cg4iot/black_fever_sft_test_of_several_aniselicorice/
for the future redditors
Thank you for linking this. This type of thing is why we have FOTW to begin with. Most of the comments here are usually about Noted, which is fine, I guess, but FOTW came first and this is what it’s really for.
Well Noted is pretty awesome and was and is still a regular gathering for various parts of our international and sometimes disjointed community. For me, Reddit is still ‘home’. It’s where I learned that I can mix and I’ll forever be appreciative for diy ejuice and ecr for literally saving my life.
You and noted used to save me money. That is totally questionable at this point. 😜
It's home base for me, too, same reasons.
As for Noted and spending habits of people, I think based on the feedback I've gotten, there are stages in mixing where we save you money and stages where we cost you money. You've been at this long enough to move from the costing money stage to the saving money stage and are now moving into the second costing money stage. Also you keep volunteering for these things and buying two dozen of the same flavor to compare them.
This is FOTW that I really want to see the posts here.
I have just recently got a black licorice flavor in, and I have just tried one mix so far:
Black licorice (FW): 4%
Super sweet (Cap): 0.5%
Vanilla bean ice cream (TPA): 2%
Try my recent Kokindjes (black licorice).
I like this, let me know what you think.
I was positively surprised mixing my first licorice recipe, so this should be a fun episode.
Hey Steve! I really enjoyed your Kalahari Juice, sorry I didn't get to spend more than a couple of minutes with it because I was trying to try all these recipes at the last minute. I'm going to spend some quality time with it soon and leave you a proper review on ATF after I do.
I love me some anise. Not all the time though. I mix FW black licorice with a little DV absinthe and CAP jelly candy. Oh and some super sweet because I have sweet tooth. Off the top of my head 4% 2 1 and .5%. It's strong so you may need to adjust to your taste.
DV Absinthe is awesome!! I also really liked Chef's Absinthe once I mixed it with some fruits, but DV's is top tier.
Wish there were more licorice tobaccos out there! I'm keen on this recipe but am missing the absolute Virginia

Try this if you have the flavors. Or the lite version.

What's the difference between anise and black licorice? They smell the same to me.
Anise is a seed from from an anise plant and licorice is a root from a licorice plant, but they taste so similar that anise is used more often than licorice to make licorice. So not much difference. The flavors that do a good job of showing the difference have an anise tasting more spicy but mellow and licorice tasting more dark and bold and flat. I think if you crank any anise flavor up too high it’s going to pretty much be indistinguishable from black licorice unless other weird notes come out, but it would be hard to mistake black licorice flavors for anise. They’re sweeter and darker. Seriously one tastes more brown and one tastes more black and I can barely explain it better than that. Look at licorice’s butt, Becky. It’s just so… black
And then you have absinthe flavors, some of which just taste like black licorice as well.
Well. I'll be grabbing some black licorice flavors next order.
Thanks for the answer. Wasn't expecting one as well worded and thought out from anyone.
Molasses. That's the shortest answer. Most licorice is made out of molasses, or corn syrup with artificial molasses flavor for mass produced American licorice. You should find some molasses taste in licorice flavors. Nothing should be an anise but anise.
And don't forget about Fennel! The vegetable that includes the same aromatic compound (anethole), that's also found in anise seeds + liquorice.
>$20 of black licorice flavors
This sounds more like a curse than a prize /s. I actually like black licorice candy but not for vaping.
Oddly enough, I hate black licorice for eating but love it for vaping.
You gotta get the Nordic stuff. They know how to licorice
'Murricans used to, too. Sen-Sen was the king of "classroom candy". (It was also highly unlikely that any teacher ever missed it. Powerful stuff; you'd need to have a hell of a head cold to miss the smell.) And if you've got an English store around anywhere, there's also Pontefract Cakes (Pomfrey Cakes). Just don't go overboard with any of the stuff, since licorice can pretty much wipe potassium out of your system at very high dosages, and bad things can happen.
Way out of my league here, but damn interesting. I've never come close to vaping black licorice, but I do know of a fun fact: If you eat a bag of black licorice a day for a week straight, you could die
I'm a licorice/anise lover. Understandably a polarizing flavor.
