Just my general thoughts on these. I used a kroma z with a zlide tank @17w with the 0.8 coil MTL. So I'm aware that I probably get less flavor out of stuff than with some other setups but there are MTL users out there too. Mixing concentrations as per their website.

Hazel dream - 1/10 - Tried it once and never again. It tastes and smells like how the skin of roasted hazelnuts smell. Once you use it once it takes an entire tank of some other flavor until you stop tasting it. It also stinks up a room more than any other flavor I've tried. I was more expecting how hazelnuts taste when you eat them or how hazelnut ice cream tastes I guess.
-
Passionate pineapple - 5/10 - this ones alright, it tastes like pineapple but there's something a bit off about it so I rarely reach for it. Can't quite put my finger on it. Like a slight vomit taste. That sounds harsh but it's very slight to the point that I do still use it sometimes.
-
Blue lush - 8/10 - this ones great, perfect level of sweetness. I can't really make out much in terms of which fruits are actually in it though but its pleasant enough to stay in my rotation
-
Banoffee cookie dough - 3/10 - biggest disappointment. I love banana, cookie dough and toffee yet this doesn't really taste of any of them. It has that generic desert flavor taste where everything just melds into one. If I put a drop of juice on my tongue I can slightly taste the banana so maybe a different setup would work better. Doesn't taste like cookie dough or toffee at all to me either
-
Welsh custard - 3/10 - another disappointment, doesn't taste like custard at all and is the definition of generic desert tasting. I honestly can't even taste much difference between this one and the banoffee one. Both stink up a room very badly too. I've used both maybe 10 times in total.
-
Grapple lemonade 5/10 - tastes more like lemon tea flavors I've had before. It's alright. It needs more of a citrus kick in my opinion.
-
Tickle me pink - 9/10 - I love this one, the guava is great, perfect amount of sweetness too and it's the one where the flavors are most identifiable. Definitely the one I've most in the past few months.
All in all I'm pretty disappointed with these. I know people here arent the biggest fans of one shots but in terms of the European market from what I've seen Chefs flavours are rated pretty highly. Ordering stuff here is a massive pain in the ass so one shots are a lot more convenient for me.
I don't know if I'm picky or if my setup sucks but I've enjoyed lots of premade flavors I've bought locally. The shipping was expensive too so I probably won't order from them again.
Thanks for your thoughts.
I have never tried one shots from Chef's, but have used one shots from two other vendors. I would have thought that when the recommended mixing % is as high as 25%, that would be a good mix for a pod or MTL package, but found that isn't necessarily true (I've had better luck with bumping up the % of a 1-2-3 than I have with one shots).
I have also found (again, only having used 12 mixes from 2 vendors), one shots don't tend to include sweetener: I add a bit of my own and the flavors shine.
My 2 cents worth.
I'm pretty sure all of these include sweetener. I did buy some cap super sweet just to have in case I ever need it since they don't sell it locally here. How much do you put in yours? I've seen people say to just put like 3 drops or 0.5% or whatever it was and it didn't change anything (didn't use it on these one shots though). I think I also don't have a very refined pallet generally though.
>How much do you put in yours?
I'm not big on Super Sweet, so I use Capella or TFA Marshmallow at 1%. Marshmallow includes vanillan and ethyl maltol, so provides sweet without being over bearing.
Thank you for reassuring me that buying one shots is not a good idea.
Only if you don't get the chance to taste them beforehand - which I did when I encountered them at VapeExpo a couple years back.
Otherwise, I have in the past ended up with too many one-shots I've bought based on their appealing descriptions alone only to find them to not be anything evenly remotely resembling my cup of tea.
What percentages did you mix at, pg/vg ratio, and steep times? I haven't used these specific one shots, but have found in the past that the recommended percentages were too high for my liking. If they say 20%, I start around 10% and work my way up for mtl.
I used the ones on their site. It ranges from 10 to 25%. I tried the desert ones after 2 weeks but they've now been sitting for months and I still dont like them. 70/30 vg/pg. I might try diluting the custard and banoffee though I'm not sure how that would make it taste more like the stuff it's supposed to taste like.
Overflavoring can cause them to taste chemical, overbearing, or cause flavor fatigue really quickly. Depending on when the recipes for the one shots were developed, they may have been geared towards 50/50 mtl recipes at low power, especially in the 20%+ range. For instance that hazel dream I'd definitely start around 10% and not 20-25% like recommended if your making a recipe for high powered gear and low nic. You could always try cutting the flavor in half in every recipe you made so far by adding more vg/pg just to see if any are vapable and not money wasted.
Tickle me Pink is definitely a good one.
I've not tried many oneshots, maybe 7 or 8 in total through the years - and most of them have been awful, but that one is damn good. The recommended 15% was way too high though. Personally I wouldn't go higher than 12%
Only a few of their oneshots are really good. One was mentioned by you. Another one is Mexican Fried Icecream (only tried at 15-20%), that's good.
"only" 15-20% lol? I dare to ask what's the suggested number??
I found that 'Chris' Spiffing Cookies and Cream' - rebranded as 'Cookies and Cream' now AFAIK - to be absolutely delicious, although not one I ever buy frequently due to the crazy steep time (I mean absolutely zero taste for like six weeks minimum) and the not-particularly-justifiable high cost considering it suggests a 25% mix.
That said, flavour-wise, I found it fairly well-rounded, an easy ADV for sure, if it weren't for the cost along with the quantity at which my Titan RDTA just evaporates any liquid. A little bit cakey, a little bit custardy, not too sharp or savoury of a biscuit profile nor overly-creamy either - it's just right but I can't for the life of me replicate anything like it with my own hands. 8/10 for flavour, 7/10 overall, for me at least.

'Nice Custard Cream' was another I liked. Not as much as the above, but enough to buy it if it came on sale or something as it largely faces the same aforementioned problems.
Tickle me pink is amazing and blue lush is also great (made even better with 1-2% menthol added). Having tried lots of stuff from their site, others I would recommend are:
Mexican fried ice cream (needs a long steep). Tarte au Citroen
Everything else is a bit of a miss.
