My DIY Journey is fun and exciting 😀 Plud my plan going forward with the ban coming
submitted about 4 years ago by blastcoinmining

Back when I started doing DIY last year I basically started out of fear of the "vape mail ban". I started reading about it last year and I literally got scared because I love vaping and I didn't want to loose it. I just love everything about it!!! Buying mods, Mesh RTAs, mesh wire and even buying cotton is exciting to me. I don't have many hobbies but I sure do consider vaping one of them and it was my goal to be completely self sufficient with it.

First thing I did out of fear was stock up on Mods, RTAs and mesh coil building supplies. I decided on Mesh RTAs due to the simplicity of building them along with the flavor they produce. Yeah mesh is totally flavor chasing but that is what I wanted so I got 8 Mesh RTA tanks. I got 4 Damn Vape Doom X mesh RTAs, 2 Vapefly Siegfried Mesh RTAs and 2 Geek Vape Zeus X Mesh RTAs. As of right now I still got 5 still sealed in the box. Now I know there are people out there with mega collections, people that are enthusiasts that have tons of vape stuff but for me that wasn't what I wanted to do. I like just getting a couple mods and tanks every year and I'm happy.

I was never one to go crazy buying a lot of mods, tanks, etc so me buying 8 Tanks at one time was a lot for me. I also bought 8 mods with 6 still sealed in the box at this time. The best mods I could of bought are my Vandy Vape Jackoroo Dual mods!! They are water proof, shock proof, dust proof mods and they are rock solid. They are perfect for working in kitchens because of all the water around me. I could literally drop these things in a puddle of water and they would still work. Now I bought all this stuff about a year ago exactly and I still got most of it sealed. If it comes down to it I could go to a vape shop and get them to order me a list of stuff I want but I'm not sure if they would even do that for me. I wanted to be safe and stock up and I felt good doing it!!

Now onto DIY::: I was very fortunate to get some nicotine from Liquid Nicotine Wholesalers before they stopped selling to the public. They were like one of the first to stop doing so and they literally have the best nicotine in my opinion, so I was very fortunate. I ended up getting 3 one liter bottles of 250mg/ml nic in VG and when I got it I was surprised to see how clear it still was at that high percentage a ml. This nic is smooth and mixes so well and all I need is like 0.91grams per 60ml bottle of juice. This stuff is literally going to last me years and with the way I store it and use it it definitely will.

I stored all my nic in tiny 2oz amber glass bottles and they are really small bottles. I did this so I would limit my self from opening one big bottle all the time. This is the reason why everyone's nic goes bad within a couple years because they don't store and use it properly. If you split it all up in little 2oz bottles your nic will last because all you need to do is take a 2oz bottle out of the freezer when needed that way your leaving the rest and not even touching it. The minute you open your bottle of nic it starts to degrade but since you stored it in 2oz bottles your limiting the degrading process to that one bottle while all the rest is stored in the freezer. This method will allow your nic to last you years and years. I just took a bottle out after one year and its still clear with no funny smell, its fresh like the day I bought it. I also find that nicotine in VG holds up better for long term storage in the freezer. When I took the bottle out it wasn't goopy, clumpy, it was just like the same nic from the day I first bought it, perfect 👌

I know I can still continue to buy flavorings, PG, VG and DIY supplies so right now I'm a stress free happy man. But, I'm still thinking about getting a couple 100mg/ml bottles from nicotine giant just to be safe. They seem to be the only place selling it the same way pre PACT act and I heard good things about their nic so I might just bite the bullet and get a couple bottles in VG before its to late. I know my nic will last years and years, especially @ 250mg/ml but I still want some backup nic just to be on the safe side 🙂

I have gotten better and better at making juice and I've become completely self sufficient with my vaping needs. I literally got 300+ flavor concentrates, a lot of PG, VG, I got 28 5ft mesh wire spools to build my mesh decks and I get my cotton off of Amazon. Yes the Japanese Cotton thats sold in there is better than cotton bacon in my opinion and you can get a pack of 5 15ft strips for $10.99. The even sell micro mesh stainless steel sheets on Amazon that I could probably cut and use for my mesh decks so I'm not to worried.

The only thing I'm worried about is getting mods and tanks a couple years from now. Yeah I can still stock up now but things evolve and get better over the years and I like to get stuff that's up to date. So that's really all I'm worried about!! I can still make juice for years though and I get excited everytime I come up with and brew and new recipe.

Its really fun and satisfying knowing I can just pull up a recipe and be like I want to make this this week or I want to tweak this and add that, etc. Its just so fun and another great thing about DIY is the collaborating, bouncing ideas off of one another is a very fun and social thing. This pandemic has brought us DIYers together in some great ways and I bet some of the best juice was designed and brewed together through these troubling times but in some fun and creative ways.

I've been working with a couple people on E liquid recipes (ELR) trying to perfect a cereal recipe and it's been a lot of fun. This collaborative effort has been a fun and rewarding experience and I hope this trend keeps on going and going in the future.

I want to wish everyone a wonderful day and keep on making that juice!!! I know this post was long but I just wanted to share my passion and love for DIY. I hope I can inspire future generations of DIYers because this really is a fun and exciting hobbie.

Have a great day 😀 😊 ☺
