Back when I was buying commercial juice a year ago the only juice i really liked was Monster Labs juice (Jam Monster, Fruit Monster, etc) and I had a spot where I was paying $11.99 for 120ml bottle. I just recently looked at the prices of commercial juice online and its way to expensive now. With the vape mail ban and PACT its just crazy!! I would kick myself in the ass everytime I would have to pay over $20 for 1 bottle of juice lol
What do you guys think? I'm glad I'm making my own that's all I gotta say bout that 🙂
The mark up on juice is insane.
Here in NZ 100ml from a store is about $40 - $50.
I estimate a DIY of 100ml costs be about $3-5
Where do you get your flavoring/make it that is relatively safe? I'm a bit scared about making a random flavor myself as I know certain flavorings made at the beginning of vaping were actually really dangerous and since have stopped being made. Something like buttery popcorn was one that comes to mind.
I get everything from Bull City Flavors pretty sure they don't sell any of those dodgy flavours, don't think anyone does, that was a long time ago.
Plus I just find recipes on here so I know they have been tested and vaped enough by other people.
In the UK it's even more expensive, and some shops charge you extra for nicotine. It's criminal.
Yeah I heard you can only buy nic there in little 10ml bottles and its Hella expensive. You can still buy all the concentrates though right?
There are ways to buy nic base in the UK, there are loopholes. But yeah everything in the usual shops is limited to 10ml for bottles with nic, then there are shortfills that are 60ml bottles filled to 50ml, and you add a 10ml nic shot to it, two shots for a 120ml bottle.
Not if you're in Ireland unfortunately. Thank god that Nom-Nomz are based in Northern Ireland and are not subject to the same trade regulations that mainland UK is. I know that Chef's have had to let people go because of EU countries not willing to pay the customs duty. Buying vape concentrates here is ridiculous, extremely limited stock and then the cost. A 10ml botte of FA concentrate costs about €5 to €6 here, and my go to online vapestore for coils doesn't stock any bottles from any brand above 13ml. No idea why, don't really care. Thank you Nom-Nomz
I can find juice for reasonable prices, but now they want 15 bucks for shipping. I'll make my own, thanks.
That's why I mainly use my own recipes now. Occasionally I'll pick up a bottle or two front the local b&m though.
we have a flavor ban in my state, but i do like some tobacco juices. I'm probably gonna buy a bottle now and then to conserve my nicotine. I have years of nicotine, but not enough to last forever.. unless I die early : (
Me too i got 3 250mg/ml 1 liter bottles stored in tiny 2oz amber glass bottles in my freezer. I put them in the little bottles so I wouldn't be opening the same bottle all the time and its working great. @ 250mg/ml these will last me years upon years @ 3mg/ml
You're banned from buying flavors in your State? That's crazy and must suck big-time. What's the legal basis for banning products with zero nicotine in them? Sounds like whoever your governor is in bed with the cigarette industry.
If you think the price of juice is crazy - have you looked at the cost of cigarettes recently? DIY was the SECOND cost saving decision I made - switching from cigs to vape was the first.
What state do you live in? I haven't smoked cigarettes in over 2 years but premium packs (Marlboro, Newport, etc) go for around $6 to $7 down here in north carolina. I used to live in Massachusetts about 8 years ago and premium cigarettes were around $8 to $9 then so I couldn't image what price is now.
I see gas station selling big tobacco vaping products now, like I seen this disposable pod system that came with a 4 pack of pods, I forgot the name of it but I bet its Hella expensive and I swear this vape mail ban was for the big tobacco companies so they can wipe out the little guys. They said vaping did this and that to kids but in reality it was the THC cartridges causing harm no regular ejuice. Of course they had to just say "oh let's just get rid of vaping" Damn politicians 🙄
I'm just north of you in VA - another tobacco (tax) friendly state. I believe that some people in the northeast are paying $10+/pack - ridiculous! Vaping is a problem because it sucks the tax coffers dry. Years ago when Big Tobacco lost the zillion-dollar law suit to Uncle Sam they couldn't pay the fine all at one time, so the politicians cut a deal in exchange for a slice of their profits. People vape to quit smoking - and they can't have that - because it reduces their cash flow.
I love making my own juices now, at first DIY wasn't sweet enough now I can't stand commercial juices and all that sweetener.. I just started making my own juices in April and I've already got 260 different concentrates in my stash so I have endless possibilities now tho I'm always missing just one flavor lol but yeah best thing I ever did and I have more nicotine then I'll need for the next 15- 20 years if it last that long...
I got nic that will literally last me until I die, no joke and I stored it all in tiny 2oz amber glass bottles in my freezer so that way I'm not opening one bottle all the time. I got 3 250mg/ml 1 liter bottles. Only issue I had, when I was first starting out over a year ago, that I wasted a lot of nic due to inexperience. I've got really good at making juice now and I lowered my nic to 3mg/ml. I used to vape 12mg/ml but I lowered it to save nic, I also chain vape in a way so lower nic made more sense. I think I might even lower it down to 2mg/ml to save even more nic and if I do that this nic will probably last me until in 70 years old lol
I live in Georgia so I'm boned when I run out of nic. I've got a bottle and a third of 49mg base silo I'll be good for a while, but once I'm out, I'm out for good, unless I leave the state
Yeqh its gonna be rough in all the states due to the PACT act and vape mail ban. A lot of nic companies don't even sell to individual customers anymore just to businesses. I think after September the USPS is totally stopping the mailing of vape products whereas FedEx and Ups already did stop. This shit totally blows but I'm stocked up with nic for like 20+ years and with the way I store it it will last that long too. I got 3 250mg/ml 1 liter bottles of nic, I split it all up in tiny 2oz amber glass bottles and threw em in my freezer. That way I'm not opening up one single bottle all the time and all I do is take on 2oz out of the freezer when I need it and throw it in the fridge. I know this method will make my nic last!! I just took out a 2oz bottle after 8 months and it looks like I just bought it, no bad smell or discoloration at all
I couldn’t agree more. Europe is similar. In Germany, for example, a tax of €3.20 per ml is coming as of July 1st, 2022. I‘m glad I‘m self-sufficient, but it sucks for everyone who isn’t. It’s important you get the word out to friends and others in your countries, so that others will have the same opportunity we had. And the larger our communities become, the better imho. It’s pretty infuriating though. I guess we are still lucky because there aren’t any bans here, just taxes, lol.
Yeah and the only reason why they did a ban here in the US is because of some teenagers vaping on THC cartridges. A couple of them ended up dying i think so it led congress to propose a bill to ban vape products in the mail. It didn't even have anything to do with the regular vaping that we do but no they just had to blame it on us. I honestly think big tobacco had a lot to do with the vape mail ban because they are starting to come out with all these vaping products and they probably want to get everyone back to smoking so they can kill us. It's just crazy because there are 100s of carcinogenic chemicals in cigarettes but they are trying to ban food grade ingredients. Do you see where I'm coming from? Its madness i tell you, madness!!!
I’m good on nicotine base, PG/VG and flavorings will still be procurable, now I’m just concerned about coils. I haven’t gotten into making coils yet but I have all the supplies for making my own, plus I have backup mods and also a couple mechanical mods so I feel like I’ll be good to continue vaping as long as I want to. I will probably quit at some point though
Look into building mesh RTA decks!! They are simple, got more flavor and last so much longer than wound coils. I've been building my own mesh RTA decks for almost 11months now and I've been totally self sufficient with my vaping needs. I stocked up on mods, tanks, mesh wire strips, etc. You can always get organic cotton off of Amazon and they even sell Mesh metal sheets you could use just incase down the road we can't get anymore Vandy Vape Mesh Strip Rolls. I also have a feeling that we will be able to buy mods, tanks, etc from major companies like FastTech in China (they are located next to all the major mod and tank manufacturers) and I honestly don't think they will stop shipping vape stuff here once the USPS totally stops shipping it here in the US. I used to order from FastTech back in the day and they ship everything discreetly, like you can't even tell its vape stuff in the package. Only problem would be if customs decided to check out some of the packages but when I used to order I never had that happen.
It feels good to be self sufficient though 😌 Not having to worry about coils being out of stock, etc. Anyway def look into building mesh decks!! Vandy Vape sells these 5ft mesh strip rolls (i ended up buying 24 rolls of 150, 200, 300 gauge 8 of each) and one roll with literally last you months. I got 4 extra mods still sealed, I got 6 extra mesh rta tanks sealed in box and I keep buying Japanese cotton off of Amazon. I planned this months ago in February because I know how hard and rough it was going to be whereas a lot of people didn't know. The first thing I was freaking out about was the NIC so I stocked up on that first, then I bought all my Mods, Tanks, build supplies, etc. Ever since then I haven't bought any vape stuff online 🙂
