How do you store/organize your flavors?
submitted about 4 years ago by mitchav1995

I currently have 50+ flavors alphabetically organized in one of my desk drawers, and I've run out of room to add flavors. Looking to move them out of the desk and into a closet, just curious what y'all use for storage other than a bare shelf?

Store? Small plastic tubs from the hardware store stacked in a larger one.

Organize? HAHAHAHA

As someone who's a little OCD, I'm pretty much the same as you. I haven't come up with a system I think will make things dramatically easier. I just ordered more flavours which will put me over 100 flavours so I might need to reassess!

I converted a spare closet into my mixing station, even put a locking handle on the door to keep the kids out.

I have two nail polish racks. One wall mounted. One on a stand. I have a six drawer rolling thing I got on Amazon and I have a tackle box.

Underneath the tackle box and stand there's a mini freezer. part of my disaster

Edit: nothing like being downvoted for answering the question. Love reddit.

There was a FAQ Friday about this some years back

I like to buy these acrylic lipstick organizers from Amazon. They're really cheap and they're perfect for 10ml bottles. All of my 30+ ml stuff goes in a big Rubbermaid storage bin. If you go this route, I would specifically order from this listing. I've ordered other similar organizers from other listings and some of them are too snug to fit a 10ml bottle without getting it stuck.

I second this, just what I do, will hold 10&15 ml bottles. Then I just try and throw similar flavors amongst themselves

Flavors go into a 1-gallon plastic bag. Then into a cardboard box that goes into a closet.

Apologies for bumping a 6 month old thread, but this just made me laugh out loud. I really thought I was basic with my assorted plastic boxes. Thank you man!

I sort based on flavour house and size. Larger bottles (60 ml+) go in a filing box under my desk. Smaller bottles go in pull out shelves and wooden drawers from ikea that I painted black (nice cuz no dust!!). AMD tiny 3 ml sample bottles go alphabetically in two tiny boxes on my desk. I have a spreadsheet listing all my flavours and what sizes I have along with mixing notes like fav combos, trinity’s and percentages etc. Yes I’m very organized lmao.

I love the way the wall racks look but I wouldn’t want to have to dust over 550 bottles 😥.

here’s a pic

Nice looking setup. I love the idea of using a test tube rack for making test recipes! Think I'm going to have to grab one of those.

They have been an absolute life saver for me. I got them when I first started. 2 racks holds the 100 pack of karter scientific 15 ml tubes. (Tho I never fill more than 13 ml or they don’t shake well). I’ve washed and refused them tons too.

Only thing I don’t like is when your testing them it’s a bit messy to pour them into your atty. I’m too lazy to grab a pipette squeezy thingy lol. I’d love to get a shit ton of 10-15ml dropper bottles ideally but a lil hard to find. Meh This works for now.

I keep mine in wooden boxes. They are probably around 12x8x6 or so and hold about 60 30ml bottles. I painted the inside of the lid with chalkboard paint, and use that to keep track of the recipe that I am working on (how much of each flavor, mark them off after adding them, that kind of thing). My flavors have never been organized.
