As always, the purpose of this thread is to gather the community to explore a category of flavor and its many uses.

####Q: How do flavors get put on the schedule?
####A: Requests and suggestions from people like YOU!
If there's something you'd like to see, just post a request in this thread. You can request both a specific flavor profile and where it lands on the calendar.
I want to formally petition that if someone requests an episode that is sure to be full of terrible flavors, that person who requested it has to be on that episode.
CAP Golden Butter for me. Hoping to hear more about VT Butter Base though
How does Cap Golden butter compare to Tfa butter? Wondering if it would be worth picking up some Cap.
Do you have TFA? I was told CAP was like clarified butter but I don’t even know what that is in real life. I mean I googled what it was, I just never made it
Clarified butter is also called Ghee, if you've ever heard of that Kuri! it's delicious fatty goodness (basically pure butterfat; they "clarify" the butter by removing the milk solids + water). it's huge in the Keto/ Paleo diet communities.
EDIT: (I just realized someone else already explained this to you, lol my apologies for not reading more before posting)
Just ordered some FA Butter, but my fav so far is TFA Butter. Thanks to the Noted crew, and I do want to win that giveaway, so.... here's a poem about butter: https://poets.org/poem/butter
Is FW Vanilla butternut also something to be reviewed under butter? 😉
You know I always try to stretch the episode 🤪
I agree, CAP Golden Butter is almost linear in a mix(if that makes sense)...maybe w/AP in a granola mix there's a place for it, maybe. But, still, there's definitely better options. TFA Butter is butter...I haven't tried/tested VT Butter Base, I have it. I'm very much lookin' forward to this Noted...as much as any other really. Noted is pretty much my life-line for flavor description content lol Makes me feel lazy af for not SFT'n. Noted crew absolute maniacs wit' the sft's...ty ty ty For that & so much more. You guys/gals ROCK
Been ordering FA butter from Australia to the US because I’ve found exactly ONE vendor who will ship it to me. It’s truly magical stuff, I wish it was more widely available. I’m not at all worried about diacetyl 🤷🏼♀️
I don't really like butter. I should say I've always had a problem with my tummy and butter. As I've gotten older it has gotten worse. After I had my gallbladder removed I seriously have to take it easy on fatty foods.
As you can guess I'm not into butter flavorings. I did try WF buttercream frosting and I have to say I like it.
Thanks Noted crew for all you do.
when I started DIY, I never really thought I'd use/ like a butter flavoring, but I bought CAP Butter (before it was Golden) in my first order bc it was on sale. Glad I did bc it turns out that butter flavors are must haves in my stash.
CAP Golden Butter is a pretty good light Ghee/ Irish Butter taste + was my go to starting out, it gives great creamy/ thicker mouthfeel without overpowering butter taste. It was a staple in my stash until I found FA Butter, which I find similar but superior to CAP Golden Butter. FA Butter is a Euro exclusive flavor (buy it under "Flavour Creative" brand on Chef's).
I've only used TFA Butter in recipes, gives a faint melted unsalted butter taste to me. Kinda seems to just fill out bakeries, custards, heavy creams. I've heard it's mostly just A/AP, which some people hate (I am not one of those people).
However VT Butter Base is definitely my favorite, I recently finished up my 10ml VT Butter Base + am going to rebuy it in 30ml. it's so incredible.
I like butter. I like butter flavor. I like TPA Butter and CAP Golden Butter and one other butter I have that's kind of like CAP from a major flavor company. I can't remember what it is because it wasn't that great. But butter is not butter without diketones. So I ordered FA Butter.
Chef's sent it to me since in in the US. FA Butter makes everything thicker, smoother, and more rich than I can even explain. It's magical and everyone should use it.
But using sparingly. Like one or two drops per 15ml kind of sparingly.
Ahh Butter!!! Cinnamon French Toast V2 #827
|Ingredient|%| |:-|:-| |Acetyl Pyrazine 5% (TPA)|0.20| |Butter (TPA)|0.85| |Cinnamon Sugar (SilverLine) (CAP)|1.50| |Joy (FA)|0.25| |Maple Syrup (FA)|0.85| |Sweetener (Sucralose) (FW)|1.00| |Warm Custard (VTA)|0.75| |Zeppola (FA)|1.25|
Flavor total: 6.65%
From the work on http://tjek.nu/r/CD0C continued.
Added:
Acetyl Pyrazine - to up the bread note
Butter - everything's better with butter
Maple Syrup - going for maple syrup on the toast not powdered
Removed:
FLV Rich Cinnamon - I don't think it's the right one (although excelent)
OoO Powdered Sugar - Goin' maple
Replaced: MB Legendary Custard for VTA Warm Custard
I tried this and it's great. I dropped the butter and maple a hair from 1% for better balance. This is full-flavored at low %
