I'm so thankful for r/DIY_eJuice since I came across it years ago. An amazing community of truly genuine people. Whether it's helping new mixers start their journey as flawlessly as possible or veteran mixers bouncing recipe ideas off each other.

The vape community in general is truly amazing. So many people from different backgrounds around the world coming together, united for the same cause and standing up to big tobacco and health organizations against vaping spreading lies. Supporting each other on our journey to becoming or remaining smoke free.

I thought I would save money by vaping.

Twenty grand later, and I'm still hoping one day that'll ring true.

But hey, I don't smoke!

Tonight my vaping related thoughts are of my neighbor and her butt of a husband. I had to loan her a device to use for the night because her husband punished her by locking vape in a safe for 2.days because she was vaping more than he thought she needed to. He actually said the words, "...learn a lesson." I would never keep a man who was like that.

I’m sure there are people on here that have been vaping longer than me. I’ll always remember there was a kiosk in the mall and I ended up buying an ego a tank a bottle of juice and those crazy ego chargers. Within a week I found a true vape shop bought a couple of ego twists and higher mg juice and finally kicked the analogs after 30 years. It would be several more years before I ventured out of the tobacco flavor.

The first thing that comes to my mind about vaping is how it’s greatly improved my quality of life! No more wheezing, smelling like stale smoke or stepping outside and missing special moments to smoke. I just wish I would have quit and started vaping sooner!

Vaping nic salts using an original SMOK Nord helped me to quit. 2 years and almost 2 months stink stick free. I will never go back to smelling like an ashtray.

I tried DIY a year ago and didn’t have enough/the right flavors to make tried and true recipes so I improved with what I had…big mistake. Everything tastes awful and chalky so I put my stuff away and forgot about it for a year. Recently I was unable to buy my ADV flavors from the last vendor who’s juices I liked, so I decided to try again. Figured out how to use the eliquidsrecipes site to find mixes using the flavors I had. Made another bulk order and got to mixing. Found my ADV (all CAP - sugar cookies V1, vanilla custard V1, and cinnamon danish cream) to vape on while I mixed and steeped new recipes.

Very early in the process and getting used to mixing but so far I’m happy I’m back in. Happy my flavorings are still good after being stored in a tub under my bed for a year lol. I have sooo many flavorings now, I’m excited to keep going.

Need to find a scale that will allow me to mix up larger batches (currently using a Gemini 20 mixing 10ml batches which gets tedious mixing my ADV). Would appreciate any suggestions! So grateful to this community for inspiring me to keep going with this. So far I’m saving lots of $ already!

My current thought is "why didn't bluedot give us the recipe for convicted melons when they closed?! Cloning specific juices is impossible!"

Congratulations! I had my first ever positive experience out of vape store earlier today. I went in to pick up a Zeus coil and they actually had it! They didn't have rebuildables when I asked and they told me that they had to shut that section down because of the new rules in our area. We did get up to talking a little bit and the guy told me he used to run a small e-juice company. He did tell me if I was having vapors tongue that I should try drinking a Sprite or a 7UP. Not sure if that's true or not but I will give it a try since I do like Sprite.

I just wanted to say without vaping it's a very good possibility I wouldn't be alive today. Sounds like an extreme exaggeration, but I truly believe it. I was born with a severe heart defect and had open heart surgery when I was 11 months old. I'm now 34 and over the course of my life I've been on a few different medications to help slow my heartbeat and bring my heartbeat to a normal rhythm. I made the extremely stupid decision to start smoking at the late age of 22, and within a few years I noticed my heart health declining rapidly. I've now been vaping for almost 5 years and I've never felt healthier. At the rate my health was declining while I was smoking, I honestly feel I owe my life to vaping. Even if I decide to give it up one day, I will always be an advocate for THR. Thank you for the opportunity and congrats to both of last weeks winners.

I got a thought about I started vaping, which was quitting smoking. Taking small puffs on a Justfog with 12 mg/ml and suffering withdrawal. Since I wanted to quit smoking I ordered 18 and 24 mg/ml juices. Until they arrived I learned how to take longer pulls. They ended up just unopened in the corner….

Vaping do-dads are awesome. Tinkering helped me quit and I still find it therapeutic. 8 years in and I’m still pleasantly surprised by new and different vape experiences.
