Flavor Reviews #2 - Ft. Wonder Flavours
submitted about 4 years ago by Ronaldo1024

Hey guys! Me again for more extra flavor reviews.

Slowly learning on some feedback on my previous thread, despite having some flavors already steeping for a while before that (and a little bit way, way before), I'll try and bring some better organized flavors now by houses. Sad thing is that I've got mostly River, so not sure if that'll be thread worthy, else I'll see what other isolate flavor I can still scrape for further threads.

So far I'm starting with the other house I've got most flavors and try and write down what I found: Wonder Flavours Concentrates! (3/4 SUPER concentrates, actually)

Something interesting to note here, is that this house is really neutral, consistent ~~and maybe for some, boring~~ in terms of steeping. The flavoring between 1 week and 11 weeks is really similar. Already smooth, already soft, and not too rough/hard on either main or side notes. Might try on a later date how it behaves with shake and vape, and just a few days. But at 1+ week, this house already does wonders in steeping with just 1 week alone.

As an additional note, I'll try and continue enumerating the flavors I've been following, could be easier to reference later on. If it's too confusing on THIS thread alone, I could try and just wipe the #6 and keep it as #1 here, but it'll be nice to mark the tested flavors so far.

Without anything else to add, the specs and the flavors by separate:

Mod: SOB Styled mech mod, 18650 hybrid tube.RTA: Vandy Vape Kylin Mini V2

Coil (Average): SS 316L 26GA, 5 loops, 3.5mm. Aprox. 0.6 ohms. Between 27W and 20W.

All flavors are at a 70% VG 30% PG ratio.

Flavor #6: Walnut, Super Concentrate (SC) 2.5%. Tested at 27W.

Steeped for 11 weeks, the Walnut is mild but present, pretty sweet, with a tiny little tinge of candy. Really soft and smooth flavors overall. Could give a real walnut flavor a 3/10 and a candy side note of 2/10. Almost feels a bit buttery.

Steeped for 1 week (7 days exact), the overall flavor is pretty much the same. A tiny little less smooth, the walnut can be felt easier and almost as long as when steeped for longer. The walnut I'd say 4/10 but goes out a bit quicker, but other than that, very similar as when steeped for longer.

Flavor #7: Thai Apple, Super Concentrate (SC) 2.5%.

Steeped for 11 weeks... kinda lost the flavor by braiding the cotton with the Euro Cigar before. Took a while, but it really tasted like nothing.

Steeped for 1 week (7 days exact), the apple flavor is extremely faint. Have some ideas of a very slight spice and throat hit but extremely rare (probably the coil leftover). But overall, this flavor is really low, soft and quiet... maybe too quiet. It DOES feels a tiny bit of apple, but little. A tiny bit sour, but again it doesn't goes above the apple... the very, very faint apple flavor. NOT a candy however, leans more on a natural apple fruit. Maybe a 2.5/10 for Apple, 1/10 for bitter and 0.5/10 for tangy.

Flavor #8: Peanut Brittle, Super Concentrate (SC) 2.5%.

Steeped for 11 weeks it feels like an old turrone. Soft, smooth, with little peanut but still noticeable, and of course the candy/turrone/soft brittle taking the main spot. Mostly on the bitter side. Has quite a butter flavor too, but it feels more like a cookie/pastry in general than butter alone. I'd give a 7.5/10 for butter taste (higher but smoother), 6.5/10 for peanut and 3/10 for sweetness in general.

Steeped for 1 week (7 days exact), the peanut and the butter trade places with main and side note respectively. Feels more like a hardened brittle than a softer turrone. Slightly less butter but still noticeable. The butter, although not as strong it feels more of raw butter, than a cookie/pastry in general. As more peanut, it feels more bitter in general as well, but not by much. I'd give a 7/10 for a "raw" butter taste, 8/10 for peanuts, and 2/10 for sweetness.

Flavor #9: Sour Watermelon Cand, Concentrate (NOT SC) 5%.

Steeped for 4 days, it hits modest, if borderline generously living to it's name. Sour. Watermelon. Candy. Think it's the first flavor with the right steeping that lives up perfectly to it's name. MAYBE too much %, but I think it's on the sweet spot without being too much, or making me ill, feels clearly like a candy instead of a watered down drink. Maybe the sweetness in general could be the main note, but both the sour and the watermelon synergizes really well. The sweetness its felt better on the inhale and a smooth sour-sweet on the exhale, with a very little and comfortable sour aftertaste. Resembles a lot like a watermelon bubble gum. Overall a 7/10 on Sour Watermelon and 8/10 on Candy.

Hope you guys can make better use of this review, I'll see what else I can come up with. Stay safe and have a nice steeping, everyone. Peace!

Great job! Lots of improvement here. I really like WF, it’s hit and miss but lots of gems for sure, esp in the candy dept. SWMC is on spot. Bubba gum is another you may like if you enjoyed that.

No prob! Another one to note is cotton candy jelly bean. I’ve recently become very fond of this for the non intrusive flavour that really lends a gelatinous gummy texture. Also works with marshmallow candy as a taffy base.

Nice work. You may want to bookmark https://safety.diyejuice.org/flavors as WF is the largest offender with using sugars, not that Watermelon Candy is unsafe because of Sucralose, I have no problem with artificial sweeteners. You could also be served well by using an RDA for tests. So much easier to clean and wick for sure

I thought that was FW with sugars.

Good catch on the RDA. I second this.

You’re right with FW. They’re both on the list

Ohh k. Yes WF uses Sucralose allot. But it is FW that’s bad for using fructose and corn syrup. I thought you meant WF uses those and couldn’t figure out why I’d never heard that lol.
That’s a Handy list to have.

Thanks for both the advice and the link. Wish I knew before my latest big buy, but it's better late than never.

And yeah I had a bit of mail hell, but an RDA is on the way. The Kilin is a bit tricky but gets the job done

Hello,

For Wonder Flavours there is not as many as you think I mean what maybe 30 flavours on 217 total. Also keep in mind they are transparent most flavour houses don't even tell you what is in their products
