Grape pairings other than apple?
submitted about 4 years ago by Wild-Manufacturer-64

I've just been thinking about grapes. I want to tackle this profile but the only thing I know that pairs well with it is apple.

I'm thinking bright tropicals may also go with it but other than that I'm lost.

The two that are sticking in my mind are pineapple and melons... They seem like they could go either way though.

Maybe something "out there" like a sweet cheese and/or some kind of nut? Maybe yoghurt?

What do you all think about grapes?

Thanks

Cactus! Grack Juice is an amazing recipe. It's the weirdest combo that my friends and I can't put down. It's been my ADV for 4 years now. When I start to get vaper's tongue and one of the flavors fades a bit, one of the other notes takes over. It's a real experience, a weird one for sure, but one nonetheless

Will try this with FLV Grape and WS-23 in place of the INW and koolada. Thanks!

Looking at that and would prefer to use WS-23 instead of Koolada. Same percent?

On the ELR post the author says they only mix it with WS-23 instead of Koolada now. Recommends 1%

Thanks. Going to order my flavors and bottles, syringes and scale next month and see if I can still order a big batch of pre-made juice from my go to place. Then time to start experimenting.

I'm pretty partial to grape+banana+bubble gum+ice cream (moon mist.) Grape and cream soda (the weird pink north american kind, not the europe kind) go pretty good together too.

That sounds freakish, I'll try a variant of that thanks! I hope I have some CAP Banana Split left because it would fill both the banana and ice cream slots... 🤔

Doesn't banana split have chocolate notes tho?

Not really, it doesn't really have strawberry either. It's more like a banana ice cream+ if that makes sense. Worth having in any stash imho.

Grape with cactus and pink lemonade make a great pairing.

I can see that, lemonade body bent into a grape with added juiciness. 🤤

Hi. Pomegranate, cherry or red/black currants go very well with grapes.

I've been eyeing my bottle of TFA Pomegranate Deluxe lately so now I have an excuse to use it haha thanks.

Grapes + FLV Wild Melon is good. Anything + FLV Wild Melon is also good.

Agreed, such a great flavour. Useful for bending apples and lemons in particular.

I have a grapes 5% with kiwi 3% and cactus 3%. Once in a while ill add .5 ws and .5 polar blast

All INW?

2 points

by Small-Satisfaction-8about 4 years ago

Nope TFA for grapes and kiwi. And INW for cactus. I find the kiwi rounds up the grape. You can also try FA bilberry but thats kinda acquired taste with that recipe. But my buddy seems to like it

I might try with the bilberry, I usually find it a bit strong but it's quite dark so I can see it working with grape now you mention it

I love grapes and imo you should go for weird sounding combos, you could create a gem by thinking out of the box

I think I will, maybe grape, pecan and a cheesey cream, just for laughs. Will report back on this one.

Made a tutti frutti juice that had grape, cherry and pineapple. 1% of FA Cherry and FA Black Cherry, 2% RF Grape and 3% TFA Pineapple. Let it steep for a couple weeks and it tastes great.

Thanks for that, I've seen the first one before but not the second. No grape in the second though damn lol. Still handy to have.

Litchi as in lychee?

yes. I struggle to spell that

It turns out the scientific name is Litchi chinensis so technically you're not wrong!

Lemon Sicily is a good pair, and so is cactus. Whoever stated the grack recipe needs an award

I've always enjoyed a grape and cranberry or dark raspberry.

My big favorite flavor right now is grape ice from thevapemall. I am not sure exactly what they use in their mix but it might be grape and menthol. Have not started mixing yet but my first few attempt will be using their premade flavors I have come to like.

1 points

by Wild-Manufacturer-64about 4 years ago

Single fruit on ice is a good one. Try WS-23 instead of menthol if it doesn't have a mint flavour to it. You could try koolada too but for me it seems to distort flavours more than WS-23.

2 points

by WyomingCountryBoyabout 4 years ago

I have a little less than half a bottle of koolada left I am trying to use up. Waste not, want not right? Still using my premixed before it's all gone but I usually add 4-5 drops to my 3ml Nord pods and 8-10 to my 6ml NorD X pods. Going to switch to WS-23 when I actually mix as koolada does tend to mute flavors.

by wheresandrewabout 4 years ago

I still like koolada. I use ws-23 and koolada together quite a bit. I don't get off notes from koolada unless the percentage is too high.

Mango can be a great pairing for a grape. Also tobaccos.

1 points

by Wild-Manufacturer-64about 4 years ago

Grape tobacco? Sounds like chalk and cheese but I'm curious how that works? 🤔

2 points

by nikareijiiabout 4 years agoDiketones, Schmiketones

I personally like FLV Grape with some mildly aromatic tobacco and ws-23. Generally you should look for a more of a purple grape.

There's a grape swisher sweets recipe I keep saved in my recipes and I stare at it quite often but have never made it.
