Recipes? Each flavor is different. I have some that take 15 percent or more from tfa and fw. Depends on the flavor.
What flavoring do you enjoy? Go to All the Flavor or ELR and look at the top recipes. Pay attention to the date made as older recipes don't always stay nice as hardware progresses.

Go to https://alltheflavors.com/recipes and sort ‘by rating’, click search.
Go to ELR (link should be already sorted by rating)
And pick some recipes that look good to you and make a list of the flavors to make them. Beware ELR, some of the recipes are a bit old.
And post your cart on the DIY Discord #check-my-order-please channel to have it checked over before you buy
Post some of the recipes you’re using with percentages (or a link to them) so we can try to troubleshoot here.

It looks like your heart note in these is pretty high.
Flv is usually very strong, this one has an average of 1.77%
Cap pomegranate I have no exp with but average is 3%
And I wouldn’t want to vape anything with 5% cactus but that could just be me. Average here is .84%
What I’d suggest is to find recipes by reputable mixers that look good and mix those. There’s tons of good fruit and even confectionary recipes that are amazing! It takes time to get a feel for it before you can start crafting your own.
To add, to get a nice full mix you usually need to combine some fruits. Mixers often refer to trinitys (using 3 of the same or similar flavours) for a reason. Try combining several fruits together to fill out the missing parts. This is where mixing a others recipes comes in handy, you get a sense of which go well with which.
>letting the juice breathe, hot baths and etc.
Stop doing that.
Mmmmm, oxidized nicotine
Some weirdos prefer it. At 2mg I can handle it but I’d rather have a smooth vape given the choice
I think you might need to research your flavor percentages more! You DiD over-flavor 2 of the 3 recipes listed here, so that might apply to all of your recipes! I know it’s a pain in the butt, but Google is your friend here.
I have the same problem as you sometimes, Here are a couple Strong recipes that have helped me with it:
Blood Orange Sherbet by Developed
Mango Yo La Tango by Wayne (DiyOrDie)
(Also, PLEASE do NOT listen to the 30% guy...)
as others have already stated your %s do look a bit high. I also would leave the TFA Sour out of the recipes next time, iirc Sour is known for muting + it's not very sour anyway. and if you're into sweetener, you could try using a tiny bit of CAP SS instead of FW (CAP is 2x as strong so use 1/2 as much), some say it helps fruits pop. if you don't have it no worries, FW Sweetener is totally fine too.
I'm unfamiliar with TFA Lemon, it might be a good one but if it's not + you want a better lemon you could use FE/ SC Lemon or CNV Lemon. i don't have experience w FW Champagne, but i do know TFA Champagne is a great champagne flavor. is your CAP Pomegranate V1 OR V2? i think i heard somewhere that V2 is the only one worth having; my favorite pomegranate is FA Pomegranate, maybe layering the 2 poms would be tasty.
PLEASE DON'T USE FW EXTREME ICE!! It has mint oils in it which means it is NOT safe to vape! please see the Flavor Safety site (link always in sidebar too). the go to coolant of choice nowadays is WS-23 (not Koolada aka W-3, another muting culprit). if you really like it cool + also want menthol, then WS-23 + FA Polar Blast is the way to go. hope this helps you troubleshoot :)
i am new to DIY as of april or so.
i am a big fan of using “trinities” to build flavor. there’s a few different reddit threads on it, here is one: https://www.reddit.com/r/DIY_eJuice/comments/b5cf3k/diy_digest_vii_the_blessed_trinities/
almost any juice i make i utilize these. so i make a mango strawberry (actually very good, i love one from finest and this tastes better) that is the 3-2-1 mango trinity and the cap/tfa strawberry trinity. strawberry cheesecake, some thing. straight mango, same thing. the only full recipes i’ve built entirely on my own are an apple butter recipe and one or two others, when i attempt this i look at the average flavoring percentage used for each flavor and try to build keeping that in mind. but using more than one flavoring for each flavor profile is how you get that nice layered full flavor. also don’t be afraid of sweetener because commercial juices use a fuck ton of it. in most of my recipes i add about .5% sweetener. i don’t feel the need to go higher but the juice almost always tastes better to me with it (probably since i’ve been vaping commercial juice for six years).
Some concentrates are prolific for muting flavours. For example, I know if I use TFA Peach (juicy) half my flavours will drop off, so I use it in small amounts with other fruity bits as a minor note. Or tbh I avoid it at all, it's like a muted synthetic peach, but I've got a big ass bottle staring at me.
Start from scratch: Whenever I get a new concentrate, I make a 10ml at 5% concentration with nothing else. This gives you a control and a good idea of how the liquid behaves. Since all your controls are at 5%, you now have a reference point to compare how different concentrates act. This makes deciding what needs to be strong vs. weak in a mix so much easier.
Another useful thing is to make very simple mixes with only two concentrates to begin with. It will provide good understanding and what mixes well with what, and gives a more noticeable platform if you change percentages, since you're dealing with fewer flavour notes.
My latest favourite is 3% Dark Arts Apple Fuji + 2% Capella Cool Mint :) super simple.
Edit: my flavours that I always feel like I can drop in to stuff:
- CAP Cool Mint
- DA Apple Fuji
- LB Vanilla Ice Cream
- INW Strawberry Shisha
- CAP Sweet Guava
If you want some desserty notes, try INW Biscuit and INW Custard.
"I don't over flavor"
Maybe that's your problem
You mentioned Mint being one of your best flavors....well that because mint is REALLY strong, a little goes a long way.
Most of my recipes have 20%+ flavor
My current everyday vape has 30% flavor (4 total flavors) This has been my go to vape for the last 7 years, (I've been mixing for around 10 years)
When I first started mixing I wouldn't go over 10% flavor, the mixes were ok at best, then would eventually turn bland/tasteless. Once I upped the flavor % I haven't had a problem since.
Think of it this way, have you ever been to a great restaurant and then tried to make the same dish at home and it tasted bland or just ok? Later you find out that the restaurant uses 5Xs the amount of butter that you used in your recipe? It's the same concept
(Of course it all depends on the types flavoring you are using, you'll find the percentage that works for you)
