Hi, I'm a very basic mixer, but I do have a scale and all the proper equipment. I like a strong cold menthol, or at least I think I do. I normally make my menthol juice by using 10% Menthol Concentrate that I make myself with crystals and PG. I use this 10% menthol at 10% in my recipe, typically with no other flavors.
I recently tried a disposable, the flavor name was Mint Ice and WOW. This was the best juice I've ever tried, but no way I can afford to buy disposables. This was an emergency situation lol. Anyway, this Mint Ice was WAY colder than my puny 10% Menthol Juice.
I tried bumping my menthol up to 15%, still nowhere near cold enough. I searched on here, and most people say using menthol over 5% (or some people, even 1%) is brain freeze levels. I'm so confused as to what to do.
I also have some other coolants as well, I have Koolada, WS23, Polar Blast, and FW Extreme Ice.
The extreme ice is the only one with mint in it as far as I know, but I don't really care if it tastes like mint. I just want my breath to feel ice cold after vaping, like it does after sucking on a menthol cough drop. My cough drops are ONLY menthol, no other active ingredients.
Anyway, should I just keep increasing my menthol? 20%? 30%? Or does anyone have recommendations on the other coolants? I tried looking at recipes and percentages are all over the damn place lol.
EDIT: I vape MTL at 15 watts. 60VG 40PG 15mg is the final ratio of my current recipe.
Is there any material on designing flavours? Why do I add 3% of A and 8% of B? Is this just hard won knowledge from the screams of a thousand abandoned 10ml samplers?
Hmm? Do you mean determining percentages for flavors in a mix? If so, people have tested flavors and have come up with their opinions on what they taste like at certain amounts. SFT are also a thing. Every flavor is different, too. One flavor at 1% isn't necessarily the same as 1% of another.
Yes. Having read (and now made) several recipes, it seems there's consensus on the flavour profiles too for example FA cream != Cap cream of same name, but there's nothing I can find which actually describes the profiles or percentages than the threads on recipes themselves.
New to mixing. Made a few 30mg batches of various recipes from ELR and most have turned out great adjusting to 70vg/30 12mg using NicRiver Smooth Salt 50/50. This recipe in particular tastes awesome to me at 40 watts but once I adjust to 50/50 35mg and throw in a boost plus 1.2w pod the flavors taste muted. Is there a certain percentage I should bump the flavors in general for 50/50 35mg or is it just gradual? Granted I've only been doing this for about a week and let them steep a day or two before trying, figuring flavor would be close regardless..
Acetyl Pyrazine 5% (TPA) .30%
Graham Cracker (Clear) .50%
Hazelnut (FW) 1.00%
Peanut Butter (TPA) 1.00%
RY4 Double (TPA) 4.00%
Where is everyone getting nicotine from?
I am trying to find somewhere near NY that I could pick some up.
Carolina Extract, Nicotine Giant, Perfect Vape
Not really a new mixer in that sense, I've tried some basic ingredients in the past (a few TPA and FA flavours which didn't do it for me), every mix either lacked body, was too harsh or too dry so I eventually scaled back to the same premade menthol/cherry syrup flavour for a couple of years now.
Now I've been thinking about giving it another go as I would like to find a way to ditch the menthol blends because the sidebar info recommends to avoid them.
Which is why I'd like to ask the more experienced folk here: how do you generally pick your flavourings? I'm trying to cross check with the safety list while writing down some notes from reading reviews, however, it's pretty hard to find something that's not in the safety list and also works well with the rest. On top of that, it's hard to find pretty much any other brand than FA/INW/TFA.
Do you always use the safety lists and try to work around it or do you usually have to compromise in order to get a decent recipe? I'm trying to find a safer alternative for the usual cherry/grape/menthol blend I've been using for a while.
Where do you live that you can't find other brands?
There's also a bulk european Cap distributor, forgot to mention that, also, Germany.
Still it seems like a lot of the flavouring makers that I see across the sub are mostly accessible in the us, but maybe I just don't know enough shops.
I used to buy everything from UK makers/vendors, but I can't order anything there anymore after the new laws were introduced last year.
So....how is everyone buying their nicotine now???? Its driving me crazy buying juice again especially when the juice I make doesn't kill my coils like store bought does.
I am really struggling with getting a mix with high flavor. I'm using nic salt at 2mg and have tried using recipes that are for nic salt. At the % they call for I lack that nice flavorful taste. I try raising the %'s but it just ends up tasting bad. If I throw in some commercial it tastes fine and has a lot of flavor so I'm sure it's not my setup. Any nic salt master mixers have some advice?
Hello
I'm new to DIY and I would like to know how to mix or the recipe for a pre mix like Fcukin Flava Yummay Guava 50ml for example.
Thanks in advance.
Hey all I made a post on this but it isn’t getting any traction.. I was wondering how you can make your own juice have the same throat hit as a Juul or disposable. I’m not sure if I’m using “throat hit” correctly - what I mean is, when I use a Juul, I inhale it like a cigarette by pulling the vapor into my mouth, like sucking a straw, then a split second after, I inhale into my lungs. So, a MTL inhale. But with a Juul (and a cigarette), there’s a very particular feeling in the back/bottom of my throat at the moment of inhalation that’s extremely satisfying. Sort of like you can feel a slight stretch in that area. It’s not only Juuls and cigarettes, I found that I get a similar sensation with most disposables also.
Anyway, I’m ordering some W01 empty pods for my Juul, and I’ll be using a blend of Nasty Juice Cush Man with another mango ice nic salt, then diluted a bit with pure VG (because Juul pods are 70/30 VG/PG and the salts I’m using are 50/50).
However from previous experiences refilling my Juul pods, I can never replicate that exact feeling in my throat/lungs that I get with stock Juul pods and disposables. It always just ends up being smooth and airy, and I don’t really feel any kind of sensation in my throat or lungs, almost like I didn’t inhale anything at all. But when I exhale I exhale a bunch of vapor.
What’s the secret? Is there anything else I can add to my blend to get the same satisfying throat/lung hit?
