A month ago I bought their nicotine solution package that comes with everything you need to get started into diy mixing . I’ve measure all the flavors by percentage correctly and added the nicotine solution in with it perfectly aswell into a 60ml bottle but I’m still getting a harsh chemically taste. I vape 3mg nicotine but it feels like it’s a 6 nic . Am I not use to the taste of diy mixing?
this flavor review might help.
I noticed a problem with all of liquid barnes flavorings being harsh/chemically. Especially green apple, blue raspberry. Even my husband who can handle harsh eliquid was dying from some of them. I would suggest reducing the flavoring significantly if that's all the flavoring you have. I would even recommend just throwing them away and ordering TFA, CAP, etc. The only flavor that I could vape was lava cake but then they changed the recipe and it kills my throat no matter what I add to it, menthol, sweetener, smooth, vanilla, etc. Sorry you're having a hard time. Please don't get discouraged!!
Mix up some Unjuice (recipe on ATF for unflavored mix) to see if your base ingredients could be the culprit. Your nic could possibly be harsh or oxidized. The first time I tried LB flavors i was using gross nicotine i hadn't tested, so i ruined all of my testers + had to redo them lol.
If all that stuff is fine, then give the LB flavor a week or 2 to steep, for some reason most of LB flavors taste gross to me until the 1-2 week mark. It's strange. This is what I'm assuming is the issue but that's only based on my own experiences w LB flavors.
Adding 1-2 drops of sweetener (2 drops for FW Sweetener or 1 drop for CAP Super Sweet) per 10ml can help you taste things better if you're new to DIY/ coming from commercial juice.
How long did you let it sit before vaping it? Did you use sweetener?
Okay so as soon as I got it , I put 9% Mountain Dew into the empty 60ml bottle, then filled the rest up with nicotine soultion 3mg
Well I don’t see anything wrong with the percentage you’re using. A quick look at ATF shows this concentrate being used at an average of 5.15 but as high as 15 in SF. In recipes it seems the norm is 4 and 8.
So you could try playing with the percentage a bit and see if that’s better but I think your main issue is lack of sweetener. If you’re used to commercial you need this. If this was a starter pack that had everything you need it should’ve had sweetener. (Stay away from these kits in future tho. Check out bull city or diy vapor supply)
Always make small test batches (10 mls max) so you don’t accidentally waste materials.
You could also try letting it breathe a day or steep a few. Sometime this fixes harsh or janky tasting mixes and sometimes it’s a matter of needing the right recipe to blend out the edges. Sometimes the concentrate is just a no good one.
Thank you 🙏
Just had a thought too. It could be that your nic is oxidized. Is it yellow or fairly clear?
Are use a program called E juice me up it’s great saves my recipes I can I add new ones do it with pictures and then get a gram scale from Amazon that does one100th of a gram. The program takes into account the amount of PG or VG in your nic and the strength of it. MyFreedomSmokes for essentials, special flavors from MFS or Flavor Apprentice.
