My first mix I did 10% peach flavour and it tasted like nothing This time I went for 15% and now it's disgusting and the vape isn't coming out properly like the clouds are somehow getting clogged How can I fix this it tastes like shit and not vaping nicely any more
What peach did you use?
Also, 10% is a lot for 99% of all flavors. What you’re experiencing is most likely overflavoring, which will just mute itself.
Otherwise should I just put PG in it and water it down? I've got no flavoueinf left I stupidly made 4 of these at 15%
Well, with a bit calculations, you can water it down with some PG/VG so you hit an era where your peach in the 3-4% range.
Also, since I guess you’re new, if you just came off of commercial juice, then you should add a little bit of sweetener to ease your tastebuds into DIY. Currently, if you’re a new mixer used to commercial vapes, your tastebuds are used to stuff with a lot of sweetener, which also has quite an effect on the way your tastebuds handles DIY stuff.
Short term advice: k I never do this lol. I make small batches and toss em if they suck, I never try to fix em so someone correct me is my logic is fucked here.
For the calculations, try ATF or ELR. My preference is ATF. Make a recipe with your desired % of flavours, click mix and then keep increasing the batch size until the amount of mls/grams of flavouring matches what you already put in. Then add that much more base than you already have. that’ll help you figure it out. None of us do it in our heads. :)
Long term advice: You really need to backtrack about 100 steps. What you’re asking here and in your follow up posts is basically; how do I diy. And none of us can put years of learning in one small Reddit post. You really gotta read the sidebar (which already explains how to diy). Watch some you tube vids. Search ATF and find recipes, compile an order based on those and then try mixing. Once you do that we can answer direct questions for the problems you encounter. But here, there’s just so much that you’re not doing right.
Far as the clogging issue this is prob a hardware issue. You could try asking on one of the ecig or vaping subs. I haven’t done sub ohms in years but I know there used to be tricks like pin holes in the coils etc. But I’m not up to date on that stuff. You’ll get better answers there. I Don’t think it’s your juice that’s the issue. No reason you shouldn’t be able to vape 70/30 even with high flavour in a sub ohm.
It's the flavouring I put too much it was fine before I've vaped 70/30 since I started vaping over a year ago
It’s not. I have a recipe that use 13.8% and even one that uses 16.4%. Some flavours are weak and need to go that high. It’s not the norm, no. But it doesn’t cause issues other than with certain concentrates burning your coil out faster. Flavouring is just PG with flavour. It won’t cause your hardware to malfunction.
In the future single flavor test all your flavors. Make small 5ml test batches of 1%, 3%, 5% and so on. Every flavor has a max threshold. Some flavors will never be good on their own and will need similar supporting flavors. 10% of one peach flavor may taste like utter crap but 7% total of 3 peaches together might taste amazing. Take the Peach Trinity by mlnikon for example.
2% JF Honey Peach
1% TFA Nectarine
3% FA Apricot
You can't just slap random percentages in a bottle and expect it to taste good.
As far as your mod goes set it to a wattage that worked well for you before and change out your coil to a new one then try some commercial juice and see if you can correct the problem you are having with it clogging.
After you mod is working like it should then remix the recipe you were trying to make but this time make a small sample size between 10-15ml and use any of the sites or the calculator app that was mentioned here and see how you like the recipe then. If you don't like it then either let it sit (steep) a day or two or more or just start over.
This is how I would approach your two problems by breaking them down and fixing them one by one. DIY isn't easy at first but with some time, effort, and research you'll be mixing flavorful juices in no time. Good luck!!
With some effort you can get close to diluting your recipes. like what mother_punker said I would open up the recipe and write down the amount in grams you put into the mix (at the wrong percentage). Also note the bottle size you mixed ( I think you said 60ml). Then change the percentage to something lower and increase the bottle size until your new percentage is the same weight you wrote down, then subtract the new bottle size from 60ml and just mix that into the bad mix.
For example, 15% peach in a 60ml batch is 9g.
10% peach in a 90ml batch is also 9g.
So you would mix 30ml batch into your 60ml bad batch to dilute it to 10%.
But like most everyone has said, 10% probably would still be too high, but you said you were satisfied with 10%. I would take this route if you don’t feel like wasting liquid and you have run out of flavoring. Then I’d decant a 5ml sample of that (10% liquid) and dilute that to 5% or something the same way above just to see how it tastes.
5ml sample at 10% is 0.5g
5% at 10ml is also 0.5g
So you would mix a 5ml batch into your 5ml sample to dilute it to 5%
Ok guys I've decided that I was being ignorant AF and these abominations I made need to be put in the trash I read the FAQ and I've decided to go with the Fuji apple 1.0 mix and order the flavours needed for that beginners mix Thanks for the info I royally fucked up and now I realise I shouldn't be going 1 flavour or making stuff up on the spot Real recipes from here on
10% ist way to much. 4%-7% should have done the job
Try getting it down by adding PG/VG
Also, are you using MTL? Cuz MTL ist beste at a PG/VG Ratio of about 50/50, for everything Else you should Go with about 80vg20pg or 70vg30pg
Btw PG is the stuff that helps with flavoring alot....
You guys are all saying 10% is to much but at 10% it was plain and at 15% I can taste it but it's not nice, I don't get it
I do mtl and I use 100% vg, the base is also vg. I get a peppery, unpleasant throat hit with pg. I also do an 8% mix with wonder flavors, I have to go stronger with flavors that aren't as concentrated as wonder flavors. To fix the peachy mix I would add vg and a little bit of the nic base and call it good. Might need to add another fruit flavor if it gets too bland.
Can anyone help me with calculations on how to get rid of the flavour I did 60ml at 15% 70vg/30pg I don't mind if it goes down to 50/50
I want the peach at 8% and the mango at 5% they are both at 15% in 60ml 70/30
Use the App LiqCalc
