Hi guys. Before it's said - yes I've read the sidebar, read the 2 different FOTW posts about Cucumber, searched eliquid recipes as well as ATF and I can NOT seem to find a simple Cucumber Mint. I mixed up /u/edlibemalfunction s recipe that was on ATM and the lime just kinda wants to take over the mix which results in a bitter experience. I put maybe .15g supersweet in to kinda knock out that bitterness but I'm not even close to what I was hoping to have; a nice, refreshing, simple cucumber mint recipe. Not a HUGE fan of menthol but I absolutely LOVE Limon Pepino drinks.
I'm working with CAP Cucumber, TFA Cucumber, INW Natural Mint, FW Creme De Menthe, and have a solid collection of concentrates.
Maybe I'm using the wrong cucumber? I read that the FA Cucumber is a VERY strong flavor that kinda takes over as well, should I be using CAP AND FA? I've got most mainstream flavors as well as hundreds of less known and used concentrates.
Only asking for help since it seems like I've been unable to get a good, refreshing mix of just plain old cucumber mint. Not necessarily MENTHOL, just the mint flavor. Similar to the pods that must not be named. LOVED that flavor but have so far been unable to replicate it.
Thanks in advance for any advice. :)
I've had a popular, among friends, recipe that could fill this itch, feel free to take it and run with it.
3% FW Cucumber mint
1% TFA honeydew
3% TFA Strawberry.
Is the strawberry to fill the fruit? Just curious how that fits in the mix.
Somehow I didn't know about the FW Cucumber Mint when I placed my most recent order but it seems like the go-to for a LOT of folks.
I'm going to have to place an order for the stuff to see what it's like. THANK you!
PS - could you do a slight comparison between CAP Cucumber and the FW Cucumber mint?
I'm a little hazy on how it happened, I think I was trying my hand at an old Vapor chef recipe, Coolcumber melon*, so I just subbed out my Pear stone for cucumber mint in my Honey Pearry clone recipe and it just worked really well. I tweaked the %'s a bit and called it good.
I've only ever tried FW cucumber mint and never felt the need to try any others after my intial success, sorry I can't help with any comparison.
Got it. That makes a lot of sense! I'm thinking that I'm definitely going to have to pick up the FW Cucumber mint. I've read that it's lovely as a standalone so there's no real danger of it just sitting on the shelf.
If I may ask - what's your Pear stone? I love me some juicy pear backed with cactus as well.
Have you tried a simple 1 2 3? Depending on what flavor you're looking to highlight more... Maybe I'd try something like:
1% Natural Mint
2% CAP Cucumber
3% TFA Cucumber
Or maybe switch them around a bit? Maybe a mix of the mints?
I haven't. I just grabbed a couple recipes and tried to modify them as best as I could - I've been mixing for around 4 years so I have a pretty good idea about what's going to happen with a mix and I KNEW the tahiti lime was going to be super intense but I thought at .75% it was going to be more tame.
I'll do exactly what you suggested! I'll nail it eventually. Thanks for the suggestioins dude!

It was my understanding that most commercial 'cucumber mint' liquids include some sort of melon (something about 'melon and cucumber belong to the same botanical family). This is the recipe I use...
5% TFA Honeydew
4% Cap Cucumber
1% TFA Koolada
0.5% Inw Cactus (Kaktus)
0.5% TFA Wintergreen
0.25% TFA Spearmint
THANK YOU! I kinda figured there was some other stuff going on in the background there. I DID put a tiny splash of FLV Wild Melon in to kinda fill the fruit out a bit. I'm going to try and mix this up tonight - I have everything but the wintergreen and spearmint but the INW Natural mint might make up for those.
Sounds like you have everything for Wintermelon Mint! It's more on the candy cane side but you could reduce the INW Natural Mint and add some FA Cucumber - it's a great flavor and probably a must have if you really want to taste the cucumber. I've used it as high as 1.5% so far. FW Cucumber Mint is great too, but again, not so cucumberey.
Just start with a little bottle of FW Cucumber Mint around 4 to 5% and next time, add to that whatever you think it needs.
Maybe some other mint (sounds like you'd like that), maybe some honeydew or cactus for juiciness, maybe some melon to fill it out, maybe just another cucumber or two, maybe some WS-23 for more cooling without the menthol. Maybe nothing.
I think you're right. I've got creme de menthe as well...but I think I'm just going to have to build a nice custom mix for myself. I LOVE LOVE Limon Pepino but was hoping for more depth than gatorade lol. Thanks man! BTW - your notes from upwards of 4 years ago helped me a ton last night messing around with this.
yes! I made a perfect simple summer vape using these ingerdients only last month.
3% TFA cucumber.
2% CAP spearmint.
1% TFA whipped cream.
the cucumber blends amazingly with spearmint, without the ice cold hit of regular mint or menthol flavours, and the whipped cream gives it a smoother, fuller taste without creating a cream flavour.
Try it, I promise you will thank me for it
Damn. I don't have spearmint. I played around with using a melon back but it's really a delicate balance with most of them.
Is the whipped cream an emulsifier for this recipe? It seems I have most of the major whipped cream players; CAP, SSA, FA, a couple others... One is it specific to TFA?
It appears that I'm found to have to go balls deep in various mints until I find the right one. I'll have to place a small order for some mints now. I did notice the ratios and as another user mentioned, the simpler 123 recipes seem to yield the best results. I think my problem is time or lack thereof. It's probably something that's going to make me hate vape a lot of cucumber. I ALMOST A HAD it worth TFA Honeydew but it got kinda.... Bitter so I binned the mix.
Thanks for your suggestions, looks like it's you've to go mint it up!
Ingredient|% :---|---: Cactus (Kaktus) (INAWERA)|0.60 Cool Mint (CAP)|2.00 Cucumber (Cetriolo) (FA)|1.00 Cucumber Mint (FW)|3.50 Double Mint (SC) (WF)|0.25
Flavor total: 7.35%
Let me know if you mix it, and what you think!
I'll need to grab a few of those on an order but I'll damn sure be mixing it up as I chase this flavor profile forever lol. It's going to be one of THOSE recipes. TY for the recipe, I appreciate it for sure.
My honest pleasure man!
If you mix this one up and you think it's missing something I'd be interested in refining it with you. I don't enjoy this profile so I rely on the guys I make it for. They love it as is.
Roger that! I'm GOING to conquer this profile. Just might take me some time though. I was SO CLOSE to dropping a bit of cactus in last night but I read that a lot of people use EITHER cuc OR cactus to get the juiciness out of a mix. I have a lil 60ml that I'm using, I might just adulterate it with a bit of the cactus when I get home. I've got notes on whats in there so far! Thanks again!
