Looking for a grack expert
submitted over 4 years ago by crigor92

So after lazily making my same recipe for about 3 months I'm looking to change things up I wanted to go with one of these big hitter recipes you hear mentioned here and there I've settled on grack juice and placed a small order to mix up a few bottles I have 3 questions I've ordered koolada and since seen that WS-23 is potentially a better alternative, is it worth paying postage for one bottle? How important is the ice, I've never been overly fond of menthol, ice is better but I never miss it is it's not there, but I've read grack is a recipe of change nothing as it will ruin the entire experience, have people made it without the ice and how was it? Finally what is the recommended steep? I'm so used to shake and vape it doesn't usually cross my mind to steep, I accidentally steep as I make a weeks worth of juice every Sunday but I never really notice a difference if the juice has been mixed for a few hours or for a week, will steeping grack hugely impact the experience or just add 5% extra flavor that someone with a poor pallet(me) would miss Thanks for the help

I prefer WS-23 in general, but created the recipe before that was widely used. Koolada works, but take it or leave it. Regardless of your cooling preferences, it's a polarizing mix overall. Haha
I prefer it after a few days because everything meshes a bit better, but shake and vape was fine for me. Then again, I'm just a weirdo who likes INW Cactus.

I keep meaning to mix some of this up so I can't say whether I'd like koolada or ws-23 in it more. But personally I would go with the Ws-23 around 0.30% anything over that for me is like getting brain freeze. Koolada tends to mute things. Polar blast might be a good option too although I haven't really experimented with it yet. I think I've read the grape/cactus start to come together after 3-4 day steep. But some like it as an SNV also

As someone who vaped Grack almost exclusively for a year, it is absolutely the one juice where I wouldn't sub a single thing.

It's great as a shake and vape, you'll just notice a lot more grape right out the gates, which will eventually turn into a much more melded experience over the coming weeks.

Made it for the first time last night with ws. I couldn’t taste a thing after 1/4 of a tank, even the ws effect was toned down. I’m going to let it steep a bit and try again with fresh cotton.

Just mixed some up with the Ws-23 @ .30%, definitely works for me as a shake n vape. That cactus comes through pretty heavy but it reminds me of those Flintstones vitamins 😂

I can't imagine making it without the cooling factor. Grack is the juice that got me interested in DIY. Had a local guy make it for me years before I dove headfirst into DIY and still one of my favorites.

Edit: Steeping wise if anything after awhile the cool factor seems to dissipate.

What exactly does this grack taste like (if you can even put a taste description to it?)

Grack 1.0 has a very complex taste and not everyone tastes it quite the same. A lot of people think koolada tastes like a hospital and thus can't taste the grack, but without the cooling its like a bakery background with a flowery and fruity up front taste.

Sounds interesting. Unsure if it's a weird interesting, a 'nope' interesting or an 'I gotta try this stuff' interesting.

Hospital, you say? I'm leaning toward 'weird' interesting, haha.

Koolada is exactly the same taste as the smell of walking down a hospital hallway. So I used ws23 when I made grack. The recipe itself is hard to dislike.
