Mixing freebase with salts for pod use
submitted over 4 years ago by sterculese89

I’ve been dumping stuff together in an attempt to salvage a juice or two I don’t like (salts) that seemed to torch coils quickly. I diluted this with some freebase 6% iced mango last night and so far it’s like Eureka! Hits easier and with a better throat hit. Just curious about anyone else’s experience vaping freebase and salt mixes at low wattage (using regular Caliburn pods in a stick, myself).

Mixing freebase and salts together is a very good idea if you want best of both worlds. That is if you want a smooth vape plus a throat hit aswell. Riot Squad also does the same thing but they call it a Hybrid. I don't know if it's an equal part of freebase to salts but it's work very well

Thank ya! Hybrid eh? Maybe I’ll name it something sciencey. It was Matt Damon’s Revenge because of a mostly apple flavor but now it’s some kind of mango abomination.

I've been wondering about trying this.... For my nicotine hoarding, I was able to get a liter of salts from carolina but it was expensive. I got 2 liters of freebase for cheaper than the single liter of salts.

I haven't smoked freebase in years and only use a caliburn. Worried switching back to freebase will make me puke, so was wondering if I could mix them together to try and take some throat hit out of the freebase. Good to hear one vote in this direction!

None on my end so far though btw. If anything I’d like a little more ooomph and will probably add more freebase. It’s like 3/4 salts at the moment.

Haha the nausea just means it’s good.

Never heard of freebase sold that high

Pretty common from what I’ve seen. It’s like true 6mg strength equivalent to 50mg salts or so if my understanding is right but I could be wrong.

?

Nicotine is measured by weight. 6% = 60mg. 12% = 120mg. 6mg =/= 50mg salts or freebase.

But yeah, mixing freebase and nic salts is totally okay. 1mg freebase = 1mg nic salts.

Ahh gotcha. Thank you for clarification!

The mg/ml converts at 1:1, so 6mg freebase is the same as 6mg salt. I've been using salt for almost 2 years @ 6-8mg/ml in my BMM Billy Club with a Vandy Vape M2 rda currently, but always used low ohm .15 or less SS316L at 400f 50w

I used to vape 12% freebase for instance. That was a shop-made deal. I’m in USA btw.

Nope, there you went again. You meant 12mg/ml. In all fairness it sounds better to say 1.2% than 12mg.

I vape 30mg/mL salts and 18mg/mL freebase together in an AIO. Not a pod but close I think. I like it just fine, nice throat hit, can get what I need in a couple big hauls if I'm rushed or I can take a few smaller puffs over a period of time if I'm not in a hurry.

Also great for cold Canadian winters, when you have to go outside to vape.

Never been there in winter, yikes. Ontario in the summer had some cold days.
