Hi, I'm really wondering why there aren't more topics about CAP Riped Strawberries as a substitute for TPA Strawberry Ripe. In my humble opinion these two flavors are pretty similar. CAP Riped Strawberries tastes even better to me, no matter if in a more complicated mix or as a single flavor. CAP has a much better, authentic, deep aftertaste, which even works well when made sweeter.
What do you think about substituting these flavors in all that CAP Sweet Strawberry + TPA Strawberry Ripe mixes around there!? Which one do you like better? I mean, there are thousands of recipes which use that combo but nobody seems to want to substitute the two flavors, even if CAP Riped Strawberries is better, imho! Just a tiny, tiny more harsh but not disturbingly!
Agreed, CAP Ripe Strawberries is one of the best, if not the best, strawberries, especially for that type of strawberry.
Some notes:
A realistic strawberry, with deep, thick flavor, and very dark syrupy sweetness. Dark enough that it’s like there’s a blueberry or two in there with the strawberry. Not a fresh picked type of strawberry. Very nearly a cooked strawberry like a strawberry pie, or at the very least, those frozen strawberries, thawed out, all mushy and extra sweet. Delivers a ton of flavor without tasting off if you want that goopey super ripe pile of sweet strawberry goodness.
But, you can't always just sub a sub-par ingredient with a better ingredient and expect a better result, because those recipes were build around the ingredients in them. It might be better, or it might not. It might totally ruin the balance of flavor in the recipe. What needs to happen isn't stuffing CAP Ripe Strawberries in recipes where it doesn't belong, it's making new recipes designed around CAP Ripe Strawberries.
Wow, GM Mixer!
Would you sub it 1:1 with TFA Strawberry Ripe or stronger? Cause I think it's so rich, I can use more of it. No need to hide it behind other strawberries because it's the prettiest strawberry on the floor! :o)
I am vaping Classic Shitrawberry Ish from Joshua Vapes and I am really enjoying CAP Riped Strawberries at 6%. I just need to find out the ratios for the pairing with CAP Sweet Strawberries.
CAP Ripe Strawberries is quite an improvement over TFA Strawberry Ripe, I agree. While it has been out for awhile, it's still relatively new, so that's probably why you don't see a ton of people talking about it.
The CAP version loses that weird earthy funk that TFA has when pushed higher.
I've mixed hundred's of recipes which had TFA ripe in it and I just stopped because I can never ever taste it regardless of what it's mixed with. If a recipe calls for TFA Ripe I always substitute with something else . TFA Ripe is the most overrated flavor on the planet to me.

Nowadays I use everything but TFA Ripe like various Wonder Flavor strawberries , Vapor Train strawberries, SSA Strawberries, Purlium strawberries, chemnovatic strawberries etc...

Every Molinberry strawberry flavor I have tried I can't taste at all . I love Cap's Sweet and Ripe . I've been extremely disappointed in JF's Sweet strawberry and FA's red touch.
Inawera Shisha and FA's Juicy strawberry are the two that really shine and I can taste even in tiny amounts.

Nice to hear :o) Just that.., I erroneously brought 30ml of FA Red Touch Strawberry and only 10ml of Juicy Strawberry cause I'm on a Cheesecake-trip (like 50 recipes planned^^ - thanks to the Mixin Vixen I've enough cake & tart-recipes for the next months with all sorts of berries!) I often buy some wrong flavor bottles :-/
Everybody has to buy the most popular strawberries because they get the best and majority of reviews . I kept buying them for years despite not being able to ever taste them in recipes .

I understand by substituting different strawberries that the recipe will not be the same but I take the chance because I know for sure that if I use TFA Ripe, JF Strawberry or FA Strawberry it will be a dud of a recipe for me . My expectations are low that a substitute will make it better but I had enough of going with those flavors I know I will never be able to taste.
I have tried just about all the strawberry concentrates on the market. First Place - CAP Sweet Strawberry, Second Place - TFA Ripe Strawberry - I have been vaping CAP Sweet Strawberry by itself for about 5-10 years, it's my go to 50/50 12MG, 15% flavor. Try vaping CAP Sweet Straw without mixing it with any other flavors, it's gooooood :)
I had tried some Strawberry Ripe from CAP in the past and found it to be way better than the TFA. I actually liked most CAP flavors I've tried. They're Strawberry (Sweet I think?) goes way better for making Adirondack's Placid juice than anything from TFA.
But I've never gotten it again, as I've kind of gotten over getting particular flavors from different vendors and making different juices all the time - so I just make a bulk order from TFA every few months. I basically get TFA Straw Ripe, TFA Blueberry Wild, and TFA Banana (Cream IIRC?).
Then small - TFA Coconut XTRA, Pomegranate, Koolada, and some others I only mix @ 1-3% when needed every few times. This allows me to make the four or five flavors I rotate.
But yeah, for people who like to try recipes out all the time, the CAP Strawberries are great.
TFA Strawberry (Not Ripe), the regular one, is one of my favorite strawberries.
I reach for TFA SB (Ripe) when I need extra "pink", body, or EM in a recipe without adding obvious SB flavor. Just because it's a poor SB flavor doesn't mean it's useless and almost everyone has some waiting to get used up.
I'll have to pick up some CAP Riped Strawberries thanks to this post. Worst SB in my collection: JF Sweet Strawberry..... just suuuuucks IMHO, overhyped and expensive. I finally got a 10ml of super expensive FLV Alpine SB and it's tough to work with but I just love the taste/smell of that one. Also great but discontinued: RF Strawberry SC

Real Flavors is now Real Flavours Canada
Yup but I haven't tried the ones made by diy-ejuice yet so I don't know if it's identical or not. I still have 10ml left in my original 30ml of it, and another 30ml "backup" that I checked last night and it says "best before july 2020". OUch. Maybe I should use it up. :)
I had no idea that existed!
Strawberry (Ripe) TFA is my main thing. You're saying CAP's is better??? This I gotta try!
Yes, absolutely. You can vape it even at higher %ages, just see the recipe I posted. It's still somethat new and not in the Noted-Show for example but it should work very well in all custards, cheesecakes, etc.!
Skip the strawberries, they are too hard to deal with and many just suck. Instead, just use Raspberry, now that's an easy choice.... ;)
I was so excited with Riped Strawberries but for me it sucked. It smells great, and tastes like airy sweet nothing. The new TPA Sweet Strawberry is much better in fact, at least it has a taste.
The issue with strawberries seems to be that they need a small % something else to fully comprehend the taste. I tried adding things like Cap Cranberry, or FA Florida Key Lime, or Cap Sweet Guava.
For me there are 4 strawberries that are good: CAP Sweet Strawberry, FA Juicy Strawberry, VT Strawberry Jam and FA Red Touch. I have yet to find a good ratio of those. My last try was with 6% of CAP Sweet Strawberry and 2% of Red Touch with 0.66% Florida Key Lime, and it was quite good.
