It’s Gotta Be The Nic Right?
submitted over 4 years ago by janicejoppy

Just recently, been experiencing very scratchy throat with my normal all day juice. I’ve mixed it the same way for years. Just rewicked my RTA, so it’s not burnt cotton.

The nic is turning more copper, I store it in the freezer but I just don’t go through it fast enough I guess. It’s liquid barn 100mg CNT Nic. It’s been fine up until this point. Only about 15ml left of the nic, then I have a brand new 250ml in the freezer.

Should I just toss the bottle in the trash? It’s gotta be the nic right?

I keep a freezer bottle and an oyt of freezer bottle. I have ruined nic pulling in out of freezer over and over.

It's possible that your nic slightly oxidized or you may not have mixed it enough will decanting through the life of your bottle and the last bit in the bottle is slightly higher concentrated than 100mg/ml. You may want to thoroughly mix and divide your new 250ml into smaller workable sizes.

If the nic has turned a darker color, chances are its the nic. Why don't you mix up a batch of unflavored 0mg to test it?

It sounds like you are constantly pulling the same bottle from the freezer. You shouldn't do that. The freezer bottle needs to stay in the freezer.

That’s a good idea, I’ll give it a try. I’m thinking this time around transferring the new 250ml into amber glass 30mls and only having one out of the freezer at a time. Thanks for the advice! Nicotine is so finicky

I think it's the amount of times you open it that does it, each time you're exposing it to fresh air. I fill about 2/3 of a amber glass 60ml from my 250ml bottle, keep both in the freezer and even with occasionally leaving the small one out for like 12 hours it's always stayed good.

I'm hoping this also works with the 500ml bottles I now have stashed...

I was thinking of sticking my working bottle of nic in my mini fridge because it's going to be getting hot here soon. Do you think this would apply to that as well? Usually I just keep it in the box with all my mixing supplies and it hasn't seemed to affect it at all. It's only a small bottle of 20- 30 ml.

that's what i personally do with my working bottle, i don't have AC so i figure the mini fridge is safer than just out. it's not good to keep a working bottle in the freezer as the freeze/ thaw cycles can damage nic, so i feel like the fridge storage is a happy middle ground. you will probably be fine keeping it in the mini fridge. i wouldn't do that with more than 30-60ml so you can test the method out for yourself :)

I don't have a way to store nicotine in the freezer at the moment. Would the refrigerator work for a few months?

Ye. Thinking Abt. Ordering nic salts from bunker Base, those are way cheaper than the nic salts in my area plus nic salts will not Rot as fast.

Made a batch today with fresh nic and it definitely was my older nicotine. Everything’s good to go now 👍🏽

If you're experienced with chemicals n stuff, you could add a few drops oe.g. benzoic acid or malic acid to your nic before it oxidizes...

I transferred all my nicotine into amber bottles than put in my freezer. I do keep the nic I’m using in a 15ml bottle (so I don’t have to keep opening the bottles in freezer every time I’m mixing up), but like you said I’m not using it fast enough either, and it got a little darker. I taste no difference in my batches though, and next time I’ll definitely keep less nicotine out. I should no I only vape vanillas nothing else.
