FROZEN QUESTIONS
submitted over 4 years ago by richkymsierra

What does everyone use to get that frozen taste?

I have been mixing juice for about 6 years now. I tried tons of different recipes in the beginning but eventually found 3 or 4 flavors that I really like and stuck with them. With all the vape mail bans this year I started stocking up in early January.

I decided to try some pre-made juice from different companies because they were VERY cheap. I found a juice brand I really like from monstervapelabs.com that they call Frozen. There are a few flavors of this Frozen line and I really like it.

So, what is the Frozen flavor and what brand do you guys prefer?

Yes, start at 1% or less and try it till you find your cool place.

Yeah. I personally do one drop per mL regardless of the recipe and no more, but I'm also not a fan of the effect so you may want to jack that up a bit to preference.

If 20 drops add to a ml. 1 drop per ml is 5%...

It's WS-23, and buy whatever brand you find. It's all the same. Don't buy Koolada, it's got a metallic taste.

I assume it is a strong. Would I be correct?

Strong is relative, but yes. Start at 0.25% and see where you go from there.

WS-23 and WS-3 (koolada) as suggested by some, but a lot of those "Ice" flavors also have hints of mint in them. Flavorah "cool mint", Flavor West "extreme ice", flavourart "polar blast" can also be used to get not only the desired cooling effect, but a small slice of mint in it as well.

I use Extreme Ice and Cool Mint in my everyday iceberry slush vape.

I add ws23 to EVERYTHING, for some reason it gives me a better throat hit and taste. .25 for mild, .35 for extreme ice.

WS-23, I get the bottles of a 30% dilution in PG, but I have been considering getting it in powder form to dilute myself. Koolada (WS-3) and FA Polar Blast are also options but I personally prefer WS-23.

Thank you everyone for all the great information. I knew menthol was NOT what I was looking for. Its time to try out some new recipes

Either WS-23 or Koolada (WS-3).

The freezing from those is just the effect, not a flavor, if you want an actual flavor use mint flavor (of all varieties) or menthol.

would the "effect" work as a substitute for menthol? Cigarettes back in the day, and vape without my Smooth Ice or Hard Menthol is ugghh and soooo dry of a hit.

It sure will.

Those compounds (and all the other WS compounds) were developed by Wilkinson Sword as cheap synthetic alternatives that mimic the effect of menthol.

Out of all WS compounds WS-23 and WS-3 are suitable for vaping, some report an aftertaste.from WS-3.

WS-3 is twice as potent as.WS-23 at the same concentration, but WS-23 is sold at triple the concentration (30%) from WS-3 (10%) so in effect it's 1.5 times stronger.

Diy or die has a very informative video on mint and cooling agents.

Just to pile on, WS-23.

Even better, WS-23 plus FA Polar Blast.

Avoid Koolada, avoid cardboardy/chemical off notes.

And those are just the unflavored cooling additives. If you like menthol or mint taste, there are even more options.

Didnt think of adding ws with polar blast. What does the polar blast do. At what ratio is suggested im currently tweaking a recipe with ws this might just help it.

The WS-23 and Polar Blast cooling "hit" at different times during your vape, using both gives a more well-rounded cooling, but on the inhale/at the beginning of the exhale (WS-23) and in the finish (Polar Blast). I'd start at 1:1 and adjust from there, depending. Always keep in mind that WS-23 will interfere with some of your flavors, while Polar Blast will interfere with others. I wouldn't usually recommend using Polar Blast with creams or other "heavy" type flavors; it thins them.

Right on thanks man will try this

Used to use a lot of Koolada from TFA but nowadays I use WS23 as it doesn't give me any cardboardy or off flavors. Straight menthol is ok in low amounts, but go too high and that's the main flavor profile. Be wary tho, cooling agents are, IMO, purely subjective and you may like Koolada or FA Polar Blast more than WS23 depending on your palate
