Companies that generally require higher percentages vs companies that require lower percentages for single flavor testing
submitted over 4 years ago by [deleted]

I was doing some researching and came across a video from DIY or Die that there are "5% companies" and "1% companies", which are general rules for the potency of the juices they produce. Of course it is general and YMMV depends on the flavors, or the hardware. However of the top of your head, could you list out the cimpanies that usually require quite a high percentage (5%+) vs ones that require lower percentage (1%-5%)?

For example, from my research

High percentage

  • TFA
  • CAP
  • FW

Low percentage

  • INW
  • FLV

Thanks!

You can't really generalize like that. It depends on the flavour used.
Check alltheflavors.com for averages to get an idea for each single flavour.

Hi. It really can‘t be generalized like that. Even FLV has some used higher and good luck using 1% FLV Rich Cinnamon or FA Corn. You should look up reviews (Reddit, Noted) or flavor usage stats (ATF) on every flavor. There are way too many exceptions to make 5% or 1% rules. You should really read the FAQ, if you haven’t yet and look at recent recipes on ATF. You‘ll see that the % a flavor is used at, depends on its role in a recipe. Good luck.

It is. A better example would TFA Blackberry, which actually is good and useable at <1%.

IMO it can be worked with but it needs cut down...severely.

Why bother? It's a shitty ass gross flavor. Just use a non-cat piss honey.

I dunno, this formula is helpful for me. It only seems to apply about 75% of the time, but is a good fallback for when there isn’t much info online about a certain flavor.

I would add FA and SSA to your “Low Percentage Companies”.
