Last night Noted aired Episode #199. But there were 2 episodes labeled #58 - Mango and Ginger. That means we have been blessed with . . .

🎉 200 EPISODES OF NOTED 🎉

Please join me in saying THANK YOU to Dave, Emily, Steve, Sam, and the long list of guests that have given us a great resource for information about flavors.

###Here's a look at the numbers . . .
##200 Episodes
##4588 times individual flavors are mentioned
##3032 unique flavors discussed
##64 different Flavor Houses
##10days 15hr 41min 53sec total runtime

TRIVIA TIME

There are six flavors that have been discussed on Noted 5 times each - FE Sweet Rice, FLV Chocolate Deutsch, FLV Lemon Tea, TFA Passion Orange Guava, VT Cookies and Cream, and VT Fizzy Sherbet. That makes them tied for 6th place in the Most Often Mentioned Flavors. There are five flavors tied for the top spot - each appearing on Noted 6 times. Can you name them?

I'm not sure - I catalog flavors, not guests.
If I had to guess, I'd say either Fresh or Concrete.

I don't think I've found a use for a wood flavor as yet.

I assume they're best paired with tobaccos for depth, would that be correct?

4 points

by ID10-Tover 4 years agoWinner: Best Recipe of 2019 - Counter Punch

Also Bourbon. And other alcoholic things. But especially Bourbon. And can do some really interesting things to custard.

Really. Custard. I wood have never thought to use with custard. I’m jumping into tobaccos and alcohols next so we’ll see how it goes.

I've only tried TPA Red Oak, and that was quite some time ago. I used it in a pipe tobacco mix, and it seemed to work well in there.

I think Dave needs an award for most puns in a FOTW title.

When I saw wood on the schedule my favorite line from that old cult classic Who Framed Roger Rabbit went dancing through my mind. Which is : "Holly would if she could but she can't" because apparently Vapers "wood" if we could so we did? 👀

Well I guess its time for us to have a lil vaping themed 🐦s and 🐝 s chat because I really wanna find out what we are doing with all that wood🤣

I originally purchased VT barrell oak, tfa red oak, and fa oak wood for tobacco additives. I SFT'ed them and then put them off to the side. Now is probably a good time to try them in mixes, especially since I am getting more familiar with my tobacco concentrates. You know when you go to home depot and buy a solid red oak plank, how it makes your vehicle smell: this is how tfa red oak smells and tastes. I'm very excited about it. I will def. mix bigredvapors recipe posted in this thread.

The Euro Flavor Oriental Tobacco Black in this recipe is where I get the cedar from. Only place that I can remember tasting cedar. When I tested it, it reminded me of opening an old cedar chest.

I really wanted to contribute something substantive to this thread so I'm going to link this recipe here: 4mple v5 . It's not done. Im still looking for the perfect flavor in the place of the Butter Rum Cavendish. As is, it's really fucking good. I wouldnt run out and buy all this stuff and the chances are that most wouldn't have all this. I did try 7 leaves and it wasn't right. A few others, sweet bright leaf, flv virginia. none really filled that spot and bridged the gaps the same. One day...

the earlier version of this 4mple v3 suffered from a few issues but one thing that was fun was how, between the am4a and the red oak, there was a clear coconut taste from zero coconuts. pretty cool.
