Nicotine storage and kids (pics in post)
submitted over 4 years ago by apocalypticdiynewb

Nicotine is essential to mixing and you may have just picked up a few liters for the vapocalypse. You finished decanting into amber bottles with polycone caps. Now your asking yourself "How can I make sure my children won't get into my stash?" You need a safe storage method in your family shared freezer because nicotine base is deadly if your children get into it.

As a parent this crossed my mind as well. I purchased an Apache 2800 weatherproof protective case with the ability to throw locks on it. Fairly cheap solution from Harbor Freight. I'm happy to share that it can hold 24 4oz bottles. Great way to stash 3L safely. They also have an Apache 1800 or 3800 version if your stash is smaller or larger than 3L.

Other lock boxes will also work, but remember to protect your loved ones from accidental exposure.

Ammo boxes with padlock holes work well too. I just use the lock on the front of my freezer to keep the grandkids out.

I looked at those ammo boxes as well and they'll definitely work. I'm just overly cautious and wanted something a tad stronger and waterproof in case a bottle cracks or leaks inside the freezer.

Ammo boxes are waterproof and the military has been throwing them around for years. You did good though. Now all you need is that chest freezer.

That's awesome. A dedicated lockable freezer would be my preferred route to take but for now I had to opt for the cheaper route. Luckily I found this case on sale for $20 at the time I was ordering my nic. I'll have to look for one on sale in the near future.

I actually bought a small chest freezer 5cu/ft from Lowe’s on scratch dent sale for $100 use exclusively for nicotine storage and bought/installed a freezer lock w/key off Amazon for $15 to make sure no curious sometimes clumsy children have access to the nic stash. Locks will work on any fridge/freezer. https://www.amazon.com/Refrigerator-Fridge-Freezer-Adhesive-Lock-Black/dp/B07R3YF9Q7 Definitely better to be safe than sorry

It sure feels that way with all the regulations and shipping bans against nicotine and vaping. I feel like a damn 007 agent with my case full of nicotine. Unfortunately hoarding nic seems like the logical thing to do for now atleast.

Let's just hope the FDA is never given the power to serve search warrants. They'll start taxing our inventory lol

I bought a 2 door mini fridge and I keep it in my bedroom and don't have kids but do on occasion have kids visit. The rules are simple, don't go in my bedroom and bother anything unless they have my permission and that seems to work well. Growing up that was the law of the land when it came to my parents bedroom and the kids in my family are being raised the exact same way.
