Other uses for flavors

I want to make coffee syrup with my flavoings and simple syrup. Has anyone done this? I can't find any info.

I searched the rules, but couldn't find anything against this post. FB groups won't allow food posts. Hoping someone can help.

Some people like to add a few drops of caramel, French vanilla, etc to their coffee in the morning so I guess the only thing you can do is experiment with ratios much like making a recipe.

EDIT: should also mention that from what I remember (could be wrong through) using flavourings in baking/food you don’t need as much to get the same effect in vaping. Maybe..

This is definitely something to remember. I was talking to someone who used to DIY vape juice with food flavourings and they mentioned that food flavourings are much weaker/ muted while vaping compared to vape flavourings, so it suggests that food flavourings are a weaker concentration overall.

A fun thing to do is mix a drop into a dollop of whipped cream

Starbucks' whipped cream uses pumps of simple syrup to sweeten it. You can add flavored syrups instead of simple syrup, or just add flavor concentrates as you suggested.

All the flavors used in ejuice are food flavorings. Their orginal purpose is to be used in all food and drinks. So feel free to add them to any food or drink. Also they can be used in room vaporizer to put scent into a room like incense. They can be added to many other things like candles, soap, bath salts, oils, sugars, basically used like essential oils. Have fun with them.

I like to make crazy soda flavors with my collection. Fun way to test combinations.

What was your process for doing this? Im also interested in making my own drinks, but everytime I do it tastes very bad.

Are you including citric acid when you mix with soda water? I use citric, flavor, and sweetener. Amounts depend on the flavors I'm using but you need all three. I prefer sucralose but sugar syrup is what is traditional

Yeah I’ve dripped a few drops of various flavors into my coffee. But never made a syrup

I made 3 syrups with a base of cinnamon dulce syrup from allrecipes. I subbed flavorings instead of vanilla and cinnamon. My kid chose cinnamon danish swirl, sugar cookie and pecan something. They all taste great, and way cheaper than coffee syrups

Yup, it's amazing! I use FW Yellow Cake, a NOT safe for vaping flavor, in my protein shakes. It's so good it's even convinced my partner to drink a protein shake every morning & he hated them before. Thanks for the tip u/isuamadog 😊

It’s stupid good. Now I see why people still want to vape it. Kinda sorta not really :)

I'm just so grateful your idea not only gets my fiance to finally drink protein shakes/ vitamin smoothies, but also helps me to get rid of my 4oz bottle of FW YC lol. I'm actually going to get more once it runs out, bc it's THAT good! never ever thought I'd buy it again lol

I've used them for cooking, coffee and #1 as a flavoring for that danged stuff you need to drink before a colonoscopy....

Since I had to do Several of those, my flavoring was a life saver!

I wouldn't see why not, most flavorings started as food flavorings. They are editable?

I mean, they are basically the same as lorann flavorings as far as consumption.

I've used flavors to make THC tincture, which I sometimes add to coffee. I do a couple drops of FLV per 30mL bottle in a solution of MCT oil (plus drugs, obvs). Experiment and report back!

I have CBD isolate and am thinking of experimenting with it. I can't tolerate THC

I've never done it, but I would think that it would work fine if you can nail down the ratios. I have a bin of flavors that aren't vape-safe that I sometimes use in coffee.

(Air is very dry here in Tokyo until Summer)

I've occasionally added two drops of FLV Rich Cinnamon to my coffee (with sugar-free creamer). T'is yummeh.

I put a few drops of lemon lime cap in my water and 1-2 drops of super sweet. Put a little bit of tfa vanilla swirl and caramel fa in coffee. They’re all candy/beverage flavourings at the end of the day. I don’t know if every flavour is 100% safe, but the GRAS list transfers to most industries (human consumption)

I think I heard a non-vaper talk about using certain flavors to make chapstick once but not sure how well that would work out.

Anything you buy that lists natural or artificial flavoring in the ingredients uses the flavorings we use for eliquid. The flavorings were made for the food and beverage industry long before ecigs were invented. The trick is figuring out the amount to use since they are far more concentrated than alcohol based grocery store extracts.

I've used different vanilla flavorings in place of regular vanilla extract in cheesecakes and pancakes with good results.

I use flavors in everything that can benefit from it. Drop of raw flavor into a bland smoothie voila

Just out of curiosity, could anyone here recommend any particular hazelnut flavors that might work well for coffee--or any to avoid? I haven't played around with nut flavorings in juice yet, so don't have any personal experience to judge from.

I’d avoid Capella Hazelnut (imo)... I bought it thinking i’d make or find my ADV as i love hazelnut and it made everything terrible. The note that comes through is a weird alcoholy flavour for me. I figured oh well i’ll just use it in my coffee and it made it terrible as well, even in a small amount. I’ve even tried mixing it as low as 0.5% and it still comes through weird and ruins an entire mix for me.

Good to keep in mind, thanks. Is that the main flavor for you, or an off note?

Sounds like blending around it didn't work to your taste. Just curious how steeping affected it in juice.

(And happy cake day, btw!)

Thanks=)... lol i had a novel typed out but it’s pretty much this for me.. alcoholic taste off a shake and vape. An old bottle of banana nut bread ejuice that i came back to after months that had it at 0.5% wasn’t as alcohol flavoured but it was still there too much for me not to enjoy. The after taste and mouthfeel still seemed altered in a really bad way compared to the same banana nut bread without hazelnut. Maybe i got a bad batch or something because it see it used frequently enough in percentages over 2% which is insane for me. I realize that taste is crazy subjective and maybe i just can’t handle this flavour. When in the coffee/creamer it was basically the same experience, ruined the flavour and a overpowering aftertaste.
