I understand the benefits of 250mg/ml in terms of storage space, but I'm so much more comfortable working with 100mg/ml. It's what I've used the past 7 years and what all my recipes are written for, and I feel relatively safe using it as a result of that experience. I always always use eye protection, but sometimes play fast and loose with gloves or the lack thereof. I've gotten 100mg/ml on my hands before and can handle the problem calmly and ride out the effects, though I prefer not to. With 250mg/ml I'm just not comfortable with the potency if it spills, though that may be more that I've never worked with it before. As it stands I can fit enough 100mg/ml in my freezer to last me well into my 70s, so I'm good with my decision.
hell I work with 48 making 3 mg juice and the two gallons I have will last me much longer than the shelf life even frozen. that's at least 10 years worth of nicotine.
My thoughts exactly! In Canada I can only get 65mg/ml now and although I'm getting less value I can handle it much more comfortably.
Back when I had 100 mg/ml available a small drop on my finger would give me the biggest NIC rush, not entirely fun but manageable. Made me want to use gloves and keep a watchful eye for any spilled drops of nic.
250 mg/ml you absolutely should be using PPE like gloves and safety glasses.
What is happening!? I'm out of the loop. Why are people stocking up?
Shipping ban on vape products. Nicotine included sadly.
I contemplated ordering 250, however my current supply is 100mg and I was less likely to mix at 2.5x the strength if I ordered more of what I have.
I stocked up on 250 because I didn’t want to take up the entire freezer and there is slightly less pg which means less oxygen according to some writings I found on nic storage.
How long is the shelf life if properly stored using amber bottles and poly come caps as well as argon?
it goes bad easier and faster.
Can you back this up with any solid evidence because everything I’ve read has pointed higher concentrations oxidizing more slowly and that the more pg/vg in lower nic concentrations , the more air bubbles, causing faster oxidation. I found a very good write up by a chemist that mixes explaining this all.
I vape 0.5mg, 250mg/ml would be insane.
It's nicotine stock, used for adding nicotine to juices. It's definitely not meant to be vaped directly.
I understand that, I DIY. I just mean at .05mg I use so little to make a 100ml bottle that 250mg/ml would be insane. I'd have to mix in larger quantities.
Ohhh I gotcha, I misunderstood 😅... It's true though, I spiked a 100mL bottle of 0mg up to 6mg last night, and it only needed 2.46mL of 250mg stock. I actually keep some 100mg around simply for if I need to spike only 10mL or so of a test batch, because it's more accurate to measure the larger quantity.
Does Nicotine River offer 250mg, because I'm definitely down.
Is it hard to make juice? I been debating on what to do with this ban coming...... I know I need bottle of vg and bottle of pg... bottle of nicotine and the flavor but what are reliable sites to get each from and where do I get the recipes?
I'm lazy max pro ultimate, I use lnw's pre-mixed gallon jug of unflavored 50/50 pg/vg unless you prefer 30/70, so I don't have to measure that and 100mg 100 ml nicotine. Easiest math there, just worry about flavor mixes like we should. Pretty much what makes it fun.
I found 6% nicotine bottle mixed in 70/30 vg/pg juice .... can I buy couple bottles of that , then just buy the flavoring or does the nicotine have to be separate from the vg/pg mix?
Just know when you add flavor, you will end up with significantly less than 6% in your final product. steam engine makes figuring out how much of what you need to add easy.
I don't know about the terms of storage but pre mixed stuff is fine now but stored for 2+ years? No clue.
As for flavors, take your pick, really. You can use in-site calculator to figure how much you want and some flavors would recommend a certain %. Cotton candy for example, great base but not too strong so I put 6ml and blackberry is real strong so 2ml or 1. A lot to do with your personal preference.
I used 10ml syringe to measure haha. Most uses vial, I forgot what that's called but got notches of measurement.
If you compare prices, you will find that the price per milligram of nicotine is actually a little cheaper in the 100 mg. strength.

I hope you're joking, this is HORRIBLE advice to post, especially when there are so many newbies posting & joining. Newbies - DON'T get pure 1000mg/ml nicotine, just get 100mg or 250mg if you use very high amounts of nicotine (30-50mg mixes).

Just bc you can handle pure nicotine doesn't mean that it's smart to recommend it to others, especially when there's a huge influx of completely new mixers to this sub. It would have been irresponsible of me to not mention that for those who may read that comment. 15+ years of handling dangerous chemicals every day taught me that safety is always #1; I'm of the opinion that some things just shouldn't be messed with by the average hobbyist in their living room. It's not about coddling, moreso just common sense advice for 95% of DIYers.
Not trying to escalate this interaction, just felt it was important to add for those who may not fully understand pure nicotine. have a nice day!
