Nicotine storage box from harbor frieght.
submitted over 4 years ago by canudigit365

Went to harbor freight yesterday and picked up this gun case on sale for like $22. I looked at the ammo boxes there and thought they would break when things get shuffled around in our chest freezer. It's hard and if you have a chest freezer it's perfect for storing nic. It even has foam in it so your bottles don't rattle around. Note I skipped the argon if anybody has insight/experience with or w/o argon feel free to share. I have 8 60mls in there now and 5 30ml. Plenty room for more. http://imgur.com/gallery/Aj4COxS

Speaking of firearms, cases made to store 12 gauge shotgun shells are perfect for storing 18650 batteries.

Err, sorry just looked up my amazon.com order history and it's 12 gauge not 22 gauge.

Argon is great. I've used it for years with positive results, I notice the difference between the 500ml bottles I make for personal that I fill up devices often. Just look up wine preserver, nothing to worry about, it is just heavier than oxygen so acts as a blanket on top of the juice. Huuuge benefit on long steeps.

wait, so you use argon in the juices you mix up? I've never heard of it being used that way but it makes perfect sense. that's an amazing idea for when I want to mix up XL batches! I've only used it for storing my nic

Yup!! The 7 dollars I spent a couple years ago on a big can has paid off.

I have a year w/o argon and Im using mason jars for storage ( Then put in their box in a large tupperware (like youd store christmas stuff in kinda deal), then put that tupperware in a black trashbag at bottom of freezer for max cold/darkness) - No noticeable difference and nic still clear. Kept in deep freezer entire time except small amounts removed to make a working bottle..

Thanks for the insight. Did you fill your Mason jars to the very top or leave space? I don't think there's a way to displace all the air anyways. I tried to fill as full as I could the first batch. The second batch a little space. I don't know if the argon really does anything with that small of air in there already? People seem to have mixed opinions

Nearly to the top. Maybe a cm or so of space tops. I didnt trust argon not to have any unwanted effects on the nicotine long term. It may displace oxygen but I wonder if It would effect nicotine or make it something unsafe.. I also couldnt find it so I just said fuck it. I was gonna store them all in reagent bottles. And I ended up storing a bit in the few that survived nic rivers shipping but they let me down and broke half my damn bottles when I ordered so I gave up (also I dont care what that listing says, those reagents are no way coated in silicone. It was just glass bottles), got my refund and just got mason jars for like 1/4 the price lol I didnt trust those caps anyway. Plastic caps are going to degrade or the silicone in them is going to fail eventually. Might as well save a buck and get a better quality container was my thing

Just so you know, argon is a completely inert gas, so it doesn't react with anything on its own.

Ok I got some bad nic from Wizard Labs, what do you think about river? The problem is I live in the upper Midwest so nic has to travel a long way to get here from California or Florida. The shipment I got from Wizard was poorly packed and was leaking out of the bottle unusable

I used to work at harbor freight. I hope you tested the seal on the case. The amount of guns we saw ruined was higher than you might guess.

Good to know 👍👍👍 when I go I'll find the one with the best seal 🤘

wow, this is an awesome idea! I don't even have a chest freezer (regular freezer above fridge), but I still dig this idea a lot! I also need to get one for another purpose, so thanks for the tip

FWIW, I have a five year old half-full plastic bottle of nicotine that was stored in a garage in Florida. It looks like root beer now but it still works.

I saw a guy on here who had 100mg/ml in PG keep for 9 years without argon, no deterioration, no color change. Amber glass bottles, polycone caps, wrapped in paper, in a box in the freezer

I hope that's the case. I ordered enough nic to keep me going for at least 10 years.

"First bottle I put in the freezer when I received it in the mail, 2nd and 3rd bottle we re-bottled on the date on the sticker. I've been working out of the Wizard Labs 2013 bottle and it tastes just like it should. I originally bought 500 ml from each Heartland and Wizard”

He goes on to say that he did not use argon and left about ½ the length of the neck of headspace, hope this helps you like it helped me :)

Wow! We are in full on apocalypse mode!! This is what the beginning of the end looks like guys. Geez man all of this is so F** up!! To pass this sort of legislation/ban in the mists of a pandemic and all the other messed up shit happening? How was this a priority? I just don’t understand. Good luck everyone. Stay safe and look out for each other, we’re going to need it to get through this madness. 🤯🤯

You can do a lot under the pretense of protecting kids. So not adults have to suffer because kids were able to order online. I still think they're could have been a better solution

I checked these out at my local harbor freight, they were $50 for the smallest one. A bit too pricey for me.

What was there 2 days ago they were $22 still normally there like $28. Maybe price difference in different states. I'm on the Midwest FYI.
