NIC Base Storage
submitted over 4 years ago by jrchapman7

Ordered 2 Liters of 100mg from River Supply. This is my understanding of storage: 1: Put in Amber Bottles w/ Poly Cone Cap 2: Top off Amber Bottles with Argon Gas 3: Put in Freezer 4: Wrap in Aluminum Foil.

Is this correct? Any additions? Comment?

You don’t have to wrap in foil, just use the box the bottles come, works really great 😎

But yep everything else is the way I was taught to do it too...was also told to only get into a bottle twice...meaning I ordered 4oz(120ml)and will be putting half the bottle at a time in a 2oz(60ml)unicorn bottle...I’m praying this works over the years with 250mg nic salt due to that what 2 liters of my stash is...

It's not a bad idea it literally makes it so 0% light can get in with the foil. With amber bottles light still gets in.

If they are inside a closed box in a freezer I’m pretty sure the light will be kept out...but hey feel free to waste foil on them if you want 😎

How necessary is the Argon? I have 2L of salts coming I’m putting in amber glass Boston bottles but haven’t really considered the argon at this point.

Well, it’s a heavy gas (heavier than oxygen) that sits on the top of the of the nic base that prevents oxygen from coming into contact with it. Oxygen causes oxidation. Oxidation degrades the quality of the base. It’s like vacuum sealing it. It’s like $12 on Amazon. Bloxygen.
